They are good motors e-tec OMC should have managed the company better and BRP should have kept the e-tec best built outboard ever. Beter than any 4 stroke ever. Never own a 4 stroke. Ever only had 2 strokes.

I just bought a 22ft 2023 pontoon with the 115hp command thrust. I just picked it up today and was looking at the stainless steel prop and thinking to myself man that prop is big. Now I know why .

In regards to the steering, the reverse gate as he shows is not attached to the steering nozzle, the disadvantage people dont know is that while in reverse, the steering is now opposite of the direction you turn the wheel!! Yamaha leaves the reverse gate attached so that it backs up intuitively like a normal boat. Wish rotax would do this too so docking is more natural feeling to your instinct.

I’ve got a 2020 60hp command thrust on a 20’ jon boat and can’t seem to find any information for the right prop for this motor. My boat always sits low in rear on plain and I’ve tried 3 props. 3 blades 4 blades aluminum/stainless what a struggle it’s been.

I’m big into trout, Kokanee and salmon trolling fishing. I’m concerned with trolling with the big engine. I see on your video that you have a kicker I’m assuming for trolling. How does that affect the balance and ride during cruise?

Ours has the over heating issue. Has had since new. The engine is great when it wants to. Even just leisure boat ride the heat alarm goes off. Some trips it’s worse than others. It been to the dealer simply clearinghouse computer of the codes. It’s not a water pump issue. These engines to beat epa rules runs em hotter. Engine is great on fuel etc. my dad is waiting till the engine goes. Their will be a mercury 150 at some point. Dealer can’t replicate the issue because it’s that random. Don’t buy these engines g-2’s loads of new owners had trim issues after issue. I’d prefer a life time warranty just run the engine they fix it. When it’s this bad they ought to replace the engine period. Yes they’ll make them till the end of 2020 just parts after. With us not having a local mechanic certified they ought to come to you.

Our boat is a 14x6 ft Sweet Water mini-toon and we regularly have 4 people out and about with this motor pushing us through the water just fine. When fully cranked up, we get it up to 4 MPH. Have even pulled the youngster behind it on a SUP to simulate skiing. Was super funny and fun but it didn't have any issues pulling him. (Grown 17 y/o) I did get a pretty heavy duty battery and we can easily go several weeks without charging. This was a great purchase for our particular needs.*

If i had to choose between a boat with 2,3, or 4 of these or a pair of Cat / Detroit Diesels you can keep these pieces of junk. See which one lasts longer, costs less to run, and holds its resale value. i assure an outbaord engine can not even begin to compare.

yeah, you should buy an etec if you're not too worried about having your expensive injectors/starter motor/ECM going bad because of bad quality. the trim button on the engine on mine also malfunctioned out at sea tilting the engine up at full rpm. the neutral gear switch also failed once limiting me to 1500rpm while far out. then there is the horrible smell from the e-tec oil....

First of all the engine in the video is NOT a G2....the G2 replaced the engine in the video. Secondly, Robbins Marine....."taking care of boaters and their families for over 55 years" ???? Gee I wonder how many franchise agreements he has for engine manufacturers other than Evinrude....maybe he can't handle the competition ??? As an ETEC G2 owner I can say there is no competition, ETEC blows everything else out of the water in ALL categories, performance, power, maintenance cost, operation costs....the list of advantages is endless. The title of this video is absolute B.S.
