Woodworking Explained
США
Добавлен 6 дек 2015
Hi, my name is Jeff Roberts and I created this channel to share my passion for woodworking. After spending over a decade working as an aeronautics engineer, I had an opportunity to purse my passion of woodworking as a career. My background as an engineer always pushes me to ask questions and improve the quality and design of each project I build. I enjoy sharing my thoughts and experiences that I have learned in the woodworking profession. Please feel to ask questions or leave comments. Learning never stops and I appreciate any inputs or suggestions that you would like to share.

DIY Sheet Goods Cutting System that is better than a Track Saw System?
Просмотров 773 тыс.7 лет назад
If you're like most woodworkers, cutting plywood sheets is one of the most dreaded jobs. In this video, I'm going to show you how to build a sheet goods cutting system that can be made from plywood scraps and give you a similar quality and accuracy of a track saw. Tools Used in Video: Kreg Clamp: amzn.to/2nrgEcz (USA) Festool Track Saw: amzn.to/2nkIXIL (USA) Dewalt 20V Circular Saw: amzn.to/2nn...
DIY Zero Clearance Throat Plate for a Dewalt DW745 Table Saw
Просмотров 137 тыс.7 лет назад
In this video, I show you step by step, how to make a zero clearance throat plate for a Dewalt DW745 Table Saw. This is an easy upgrade that will result in cleaner cuts, especially when cutting plywood perpendicular to the wood grain. It will also improve the safety, by not allowing thin cut strips to fall back into the blade throat. For more information, please visit: www.woodworkingexplained....

Elmer's School Glue vs Titebond Type I Wood Glue
Просмотров 81 тыс.8 лет назад
Have you ever wondered if school glue is stronger than Titebond Type I Glue? Well, today we're going to give that a test. School Glue is made from Poly(vinyl acetate), which is commonly called PVA. PVA is a vinyl polymer that has great adhesive properties for porous materials such as paper and wood. The adhesive that seals envelopes and holds wallpaper to the wall is PVA. It is even used as a p...
TESTED: Yonico vs Eagle America Router Bits

TESTED: Yonico vs Eagle America Router Bits Have you ever wondered if the cheaper router bits are better than the expensive name brand bits? In this video, the lower price Yonico router bit is tested against its more expensive counterpart made by Eagle America. Which one is better? The red oak board was jointed on one edge using a Jet JJ-6CSDX (708457DXK) Jointer with a Grizzly H7653 Spiral Cut...
For comparison testing, once is nowhere near enough. That said, your results are what I expected. BUT I don't think you tested the range of uses or the modes of failure. How do table legs fail? When one person tries to drag the table over carpet. Probably will require tens, maybe hundreds of attempts of the same joint before it fails.
Hour ago I saw PF do a glue up from 4 years ago- TB 3, Elmer's Max and TB2. Straight up Elmers original wasn't that far behind only water failed that and TB original.
This was exactly what I was looking for, how to set up for 1/2" drawer bottom for undermount slides. However you skipped over the most critical part of the dovetail jig set-up, which was getting the groove aligned exactly so that it falls right in the slot between the pins. The one issue I see is that with 1/2" groove it will not necessarily be possible to make the top & bottom symmetrical for the dovetails, unless you specifically calibrate the height for that. But it looks like empirically your test vehicle was to give you a nice top appearance rather than symmetrical
Great video
thnx so much, man! Im building a pool table, and that glue thing was a big question 👍
Great video!!
American Eagle, what other name do you need to sell in the states, not that I am saying its not good but 'hey' they know how to market a product!
Thanks for this video. I love half blind dovetail drawers but have not made them with undermount slides. This takes the mystery out of the equation.
Do not buy bits from china.
Excellent tutorial. Thanks
Can you make one out of aluminum?
Great explanation. My blades didn't have numbers so I just flipped them 190 degrees.
are you putting 200 lbs dumbells into your drawer box? Why in the world would you use 1/2" on such a small drawer?
Yonico is an American company and work great. I have done crossgrain cut in almost every wood and are smoother than 600 grit sandpaper could get a piece of wood. Quit spreading misinformation and get your facts straight. Plus if you’re going to compare stuff. Keep the speed of the router, the same.
Great explanation..... thank you
Any reason you don't dovetail the drawer backs?
Great video and commentary thanks ❤❤
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Great saw especially ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxnKxcY0vm4xjW8xkPbjaHuKt10gr-wG_ considering how drastically cheaper it is than every other track saw on the market. Only things I would mention is replace the blade immediately, the 24 tooth blade supplied leaves a lot to be desired.
I used elmers multipurpose glue on my broken guitar neck and its strong, now im planning to used it on making ukuleles , ithink what makes it stronger is because of the clamp
You just saved me $30, thank you

I just discovered today that the throat plate had set screws. I was about to buy a new one! Great video! Meticulously explained without wasting time.
🙏
Nice one!
Hello, i have a DW749IRS table saw and after installing the anti-kickback assembly on the blade guard attachment, for some reason the spikes only on the left side of the plate are getting caught and stuck on the throat plate when i raise and lower the blade. I have adjusted the throat plate number times and have checked to make sure the throat plate is not bent. There is a groove on this particular throat plate made by Dewalt in which the spikes from the anti-kickback assembly is getting caught on. Please help i cannot find a solution anywhere and have found no one else who has had this issue on the entire internet. P.S it IS installed correctly, and i called a Dewalt service station and they just said to bring it in, but i wanna fix it myself b/c the drive is just way to far. HELP from ANYONE is welcome. Thanks

The reveal is not even on the top and bottom
10-30-2022. Elmer's Glue All, nope. Try to glue ice to ice, impossible.
U EANT GLUE ALL NOT SCHOOL GLUE...BE WARE!!! I JUST GOT 2 GALLONS AND IT IS BASICALLY A RUBBERY THING.
Thanks for this! Great explanation!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent presentation.
And what do you do if you don’t have a fully equipped workshop? An uncut sheet of plywood is not scrap.
Awesome tool
Just what I needed. Thank you!
Thanks 🙏
ive been using elmers glue for my paper crafts and jts amazing, it is strong and fast to dry i even use it as a kind of cement in cornee joints, the only downside is just it is easily washable.
I can't beleive this video was made sooo long ago and it's STILL one of the most helpful videos online. Great job, Thank you Sir!
Glad it was helpful!
see my Parallel Guided Power Saw
i hope with 60or more teeth , we get a smother ones.
Cmt made in Italy 🇮🇹 is the best router bits in the world
Why not test and compare bits with the same or very similar profile?
6:30 If you think your putting over 3000-LBS with just your hand twisting them clamps then you have no idea i would guess in this video seeing how much you Where Not struggling i would say 500-800 Very Very max.. I really got into vices different ways they are made n clamping force with that youtube guy Fireball tools.. & them guys where hanging off the vice handles bouncing on them to get 3500-4000LBS
So we have overpaying for Titebond when we could have bought school glue this whole time???
Good job and a super handy piece! Thanks for the clear and simple video with no music, no advertising or accessory nonsense and so forth. p.s. I do like the sander you showed. Now I needs me one. If only I can convince "she who must be convinced" that another tool is in order... :-)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've used Elmer's glue a number of times on simple wood repairs around the house and I've never had it underperform wood glue. As long as it penetrates the grain and it's clamped properly then it should be ok
