Toyota Prado 120 Series | A Comfortable Camping Setup
Просмотров 12 тыс.10 месяцев назад
A walk around my 2003 Toyota Prado 120 series 4L V6. This Prado has been built to tour/overland Australia and to comfortably camp out of, I go through some of the mods and changes we have made to make this rig as practical as possible. Instagram bradwatsontv Some of the mods and kit mentioned below: 00:00 Intro 00:26 Maxi Trax Spotlights 00:30 Factory Toyota 120 Series Bullbar 00:...
Does the snorkel make any intake noises while driving?
Nah no noise
yeah lads ! those burgers would turn be gay!
Hi mate, did you need new UCAs for the lift? Exact same car, exact same suspension setup but different brand, 50mm lift eith nullbar and winch spec when i dont have a winch
Nah don’t need them, always a bonus if you can add them. Will add more clearance for the bump stops but without them it doesn’t knock or anything like that
@@BradleyWatsonTV oh really? i did the same thing and had to get them. they make the tirrs have some serious positive camber and handles wayyyyy worse. hopefully the new upgraded arms will sort that out.
@@BradleyWatsonTV needed em anyway because i either had to get new UCAs or new wider offset rims to clear 33s. and new UCAs solved 2 issues so ya know. saving up to get some nice KMC beadlocks. no point in getting some steelies just to tide me over.
My 1KZ has 322k, probably 40% dirt or gravel. Fitted early 900mm Kings draws. Built for Crusers & Patrols, so very tight fit. No room for wing power panel. Love the 180 litre tank!
Toyota replaced the dash under a recall warranty
When, ages ago?
V6 for the win💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Great Video! Can I please ask, I have a 2008 Prado GXL petrol, what is the roof weight of these? I see you have a Hard Shell RTT and the Bushwacker awning, which looks great, but every one keeps telling this can’t be done due to the roof weight of the Prado being 100kg max less the weight of your rails or platform. Would love your experience on this please. Otherwise love your set up.
To be honest im not 100% sure on the rules and legalities of this, I suggest talking with Toyota or your RTT manufacturer directly.
What’s your ODO on the parado ?
Just over 160,000KMS now
@@BradleyWatsonTV wow still a baby parado, mine down over 500 and still kicking.
Hey Brad! Im pretty sure a 120 is going to be my next vehicle purchase, when you say the fuel economy of the v6 is horrific how bad is it? Im trying to find the perfect 120 with the 1kd but would consider a petrol version also. Thanks from QLD.
Hey! So the fuel economy isn’t too bad if it has no mods. Once you lift it, put bigger tyres, an awning and a rooftop tent you will notice that it will use a substantial more amount of fuel. The Prado with the current mods is using roughly 17L/100km if driven sensibly. I purchased a second car that runs at 6L/100km because of the Prado… so if it’s going to be a daily driver please take this into consideration because you will be spending big on fuel if you do a lot of driving. I hope that helps :) Thanks for watching!
stock I'm on about 13-14L/100KM driven easy.
Yeah I was the same without any mods
Highway (80-90km/h) = 8.5L/100km Metro = 10L/km I have the diesel (D4D) with a steel bullbar, roof rack and 17x9" rims+ 265/70 AT tyres. Love the 120 Prado; petrol and diesel 💪
Nice video guys. Cool rig too 👍 Rare for a 120 to have such low Ks on now, especially at that age. Also cool to see another petrol build. Love my 1GR. Keen to see more videos in the future 😎
Thanks Alex 🤙🏼
Nice video! Everything has a purpose, no unnecessary extras 🙌
Thanks mate I appreciate that, cut out all the fat ✌🏼
Where is marlos seat belt we were only just talking about this the other week lol😂😂
