A7S IV ❤

α7R5 is too new for another R series model. expect α75 & another FX release. it's not uncommon for Sony to release more than 2+ new bodies in a yr. I'm REALLY awaiting the α7S4

I (still) use M9, when I want to slow down my workflow and enjoy a different photography experience - compared to the (boring) perfection of my Sony A1. That's what "M" is about. Due to the limitations of the mount, the lens construction etc., a Leica M will never technically catch up with cameras from Sony. If you want to "speed up your workflow", fast charging will not be relevant. The manual lenses are the brake block and an EVF will not speed that up (it also does not speed up things on a Fuji or a Sony A7CR). There are other things, also an M could benefit from: IBIS, next sensor generation (more DR, less rolling shutter - the current 61MP sensor from sony is already pretty aged), as long as the housing can continue to be kept as compact as the M10. Video capabilities would be OK, when the implementation is not as substandard as in the M240. In that price range, I would expect 8K60, 14 bit, 4:2:2, h.265, log profiles.

After the release of the a1ii, which I can't afford, I was hoping for the a7V. I currently have the a7IV but hope the a7V will have some of the features of the a1ii. Hope 1st quarter of 2025 is correct. Thanks for the info.

This is not a real comparison. 33x44 vs. 24x36, interchange lenses vs. built-in .... this doesnt work. Q3/43 is a expensive toy for amateurs.

You won't see it with all these features because it would interfere with sales of the Z8/9. I would love a 90mp camera. It could reduce the size of lenses if high resolution cropping could be accomplished, drastically reducing the size and weight of the system. They can keep the video upgrades for the Z8II.

I could not wait any longer for the OM-5 ii and just purchased an OM-1 ii. Black Friday pricing made it too attractive. I could get the OM-5 ii as a second backup camera in the future, but will want magnesium body, same menu system as OM-1, usb-c, target subject AF. I have been using the OM-1 ii for about a week now and super impressed by the image stabilization, IQ, impressive high ISO results and the target focusing. Other camera I currently own is the Olympus EM-5 mark I.

Seems to be a balanced review. Pluses and minuses allow viewers to match up what's important to them. Enjoyed it. Over the decades I've bough Ricoh, Pentax, Olympus, Fuji, and Canon. I'm now 'rusted on' Canon biased! My RP + 24-240 is great for what I do. Travel grab shots. I've added an R50 with 100-400. Those zooms compete IQ and price with EF-S lenses. I'm not into video. FYI Cannon WAS slow on the R series APS-C. That's changed - there's a good range of APS-C R series bodies now. The lens scene is changing and Sigma has been licensed to make R series APS-C lenses.
