“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent”
I have been playing flute for 5 years and love it very much :)
I made this channel to show my flute progress to the world. I don't expect anybody to watch these videos, it is really just a place for me to put my playing out to motivate me to improve. It also will be good to show my progress over time. If you are watching though, please do not be afraid to comment on any criticism you have!!! I really need it. I also will eventually post my compositions and music projects as well as my jazz journey and my trying of other instruments :)
Thanks for reading and if you play an instrument, keep practicing!!!

SEMSBA Audition Solo - Work in Progress
I have an audition in about a week for another festival I’m doing 🥰 I did pretty well on my last audition but I’m hoping that this one goes well too. This is OBVIOUSLY not what I’m going to be presenting at the audition because this recording is VERY flawed so don’t worry.

My Favorite Things - Tenor Sax Solo Transcription
Просмотров 2614 дней назад
I decided to transcribe one of my solos that I performed during my winter concert because it helps with improvisation and understanding what somebody was playing. (also face reveal!) It's obviously not exact because improvisation is really messy and doesn't really have a guideline but I tried my best. This is the second or third time I have ever performed an on-the-spot improv solo at a concert...

Day 2: 90-100bpm (Bamboula Run)
Просмотров 2487 месяцев назад
I have an eight minute video of me playing this run over and over and I caught myself having a breakdown twice. Once I hit 100k subscribers, I will probably have done a face reveal by then and I’ll probably post the video. it kind of shows the ugly side of being a musician, and the stress that comes with not being able to get a part, no matter how many months you spent trying to learn it. By th...
Day 1: 70-90bpm (God forsaken Bamboula run)
Просмотров 597 месяцев назад
My orchestra and I are playing this piece again on July 6th with the Plymouth Philharmonic and I am so excited because I think the day I played with them was the best day of my life :) However, THIS SHITTY RUN HAS TO BE PLAYED AT 140bpm, AND I HAVE RUN THESE 4 MEASURES ABOUT 500 TIMES (I’m not kidding) AND I CANT DO IT CORRECTLY OVER 90bpm. So I have made a plan to play it a couple of bpm highe...
No retakes, no cuts, and lots of mistakes. (read desc)

As somebody who interacts with the music side of social media, I often see “perfect” players with the best tone and playing skills, and yes I totally get that it takes SKILL AND PRACTICE to get there, I feel like putting out only the finest music makes beginners or people who are insecure about their playing lost, thinking “I’ll never be good like them” or “wow they never make mistakes” and I n...
Symphony No.2 Mahler (excerpt from finale) Flute Quartet
Просмотров 288 месяцев назад
Hello everybody! I am very sorry for my disappointing post schedule, I have had a busy end of the year at school and haven't really had the motivation to post anything :( But, I did have some free time today and played this Quartet from a chorale book we use in my band. I find this chorale very different from what musicians usually play structure-wise, but oh my goodness it makes it all the mor...
POV: You have no music friends

Hello everybody!!! My friends don’t really like playing around with music and stuff, so I guess I just had to do it myself! Sorry for not posting in A LONG WHILE, this video took multiple days as it is one of my bigger projects and I’ve had a ton of festivals/concerts in the past few weeks, shouldn’t have too many coming up so I will probably post more :) I do this warm up with my band where we...

Summer Evening Duet (separate parts)
Просмотров 449 месяцев назад
Hello all! Thank you so so much for watching this video! I have been wanting to try to play both parts of a duet and combine the videos to make it sound like 2 flutes playing, these are the separate parts and I tried aligning them but they were so off so I will try to make a video of them together eventually. I also got a new flute!!! It is a Muramatsu EX and I got it at flutistry. My old flute...

Hello once again! I PotC video "blew up" Thank you all so much who watched!!! I think you guys like well-known music, I'll keep note of that :) Also sorry for the many cracks, I promise to start warming up better before recording. This is an etude from a book I have that helps you express your dynamics. Compared to how I usually do dynamics, I think I did pretty well with this etude and I'm hop...

Hello! Thank you for reading the description I wrote :) REMINDER: My flute pads are all torn and need to be repaired, but I have too many concerts so I dont have enough time to replace them, I'm doing what I can with what I have :( ALSO: I know my tone, intonation, and following dynamics and articulation, as well as playing expressively in this video are ABSOLUTELY terrible, it's so bad that I ...

Hey, do you have any tips on breathing and being able to go more than a couple measures?
Of course! It’s all a matter of practicing and as you grow as a musician and trust me you will find that the more you play you will be to able more notes. But I do have some tips that have helped me improve. In the early years of playing flute, players will overblow to try and get a sound out. It could be because of an embouchure that is too open so it’s harder to get a note out, so you use more air to compensate. What I recommended is closing your embouchure a little more and taking a full breath before playing. As you are playing, use less air but make sure it is focused, try to think about the sound you want to make as your playing. Make sure your air feels like it is filling up the instrument, but don’t use too much. Flute is one of the wind instruments that requires the most air, so you will most likely be taking more breaths than other instruments. Try to balance your air out throughout a piece so that you are breathing in between measures, and as you develop in a piece, you will be able to naturally play a few measures in one breath. If you are completely dedicated to playing a piece in one breath, I would reccomend searching up flute videos on circular breathing, but it takes years to master. So remember: Smaller, softer, stronger (not tight or tense) embouchure, use less air but fuller air, fill tour lungs up with good air before an entrance but if you are in the middle of a phrase balance out little sips of air in your playing and keep practicing!!! Thank you so much for reaching out!!!
I have no clue why RUclips recommended me your video, but I can appreciate talent when I see it! Keep up the good work, it will pay off in the future~!
Thank you so much!!! This means a lot <3
