MB OM606 Very bad noise in the engine
Просмотров 5102 года назад
The car has been standing for six years. Two glow plugs are broken. That's why it started badly. When the engine reached operating temperature, it started rattling very loudly. After 45 minutes, the engine noise disappeared.

Good video. I replaced it in 3 hours.
Good~!
Awesome video! Me and a friend replaced the thermostat on my Volvo V70 D5 2010 last weekend. It took us close to 7 hours, and we would not have made it without your video. The hardest part for us was removing the EGR-cooling-housing, which was badly stuck to the thermostat pipe for some reason. Other than that it was just a matter of patience, and hard to get to bolts and screws.
Same procedure for my v70 D4 2.0 VEA engine Diesel?
I changed my stat about 3 weeks ago, car was running at 60 deg max, now running at 84-90 deg with obd2 reader, (I got the stat from Parts for Volvo's online) hardest part was getting the one securing bolt out for the stat, T30 bit and no room to get in at all (ended up with 6" mole grips after 2 hrs of failed attempts !) refitted with a 6mm hex head bolt and access is easy with ratchet spanner. Total time was 16 hrs over 2 days including cleaning EGR valve and pipework out, big saving on Volvo prices and worth doing to improve MPG/DPF regen issues !
Fucking car...how to know when engine is over heat...temperature not show on board...
you can read temp with a obd reader showing live data
I have the same thing with my om606 and can’t figure out what can be wrong with it, please help.
what kind of cam system is there you have on the top bum? :)
Excellent work . Very good video which helped a lot during my change today . Very appreciated . Thanks !!!!! From Sweden

Olisiko alakautta ollut pienempi töinen vaihtaa?
Ei
What the fuck Volvo??? All this job for just replacing the thermostat???
Its easier to do heart transplantation on human that replace this thermostat, wtf.
😂
My 1999 V70 replacement took 20 minutes - just take off the cover of the cambelt (two T30 screws), loosen radiator hose (one srew) and remove two T40 screws for the thermostat housing... job done. Keep radiator cap on and hardly any spillage from the hose detached from the thermostat housing. Pop in new thermostat and reverse process. Shan't buy a XC70 diesel. Thermostats last about 10 years before they go boing on one side so stay open as the metal clip breaks.
Looking at the Hook Block & Main Boom I Guess that this mobile crane is a LIEBHERR LTM 1220-5.2(?), E Helaakoski Oy of Finland, Number 391!!
Very good, correctly considered.
😀👍
By the looks of the main boom, crane base & outriggers I guess that this LIEBHERR LTM 1160-5.2 is owned by E Helaakoski Oy, of Finland. Congratulations to E Helaakoski Oy on their acquisition of a brand new TADANO DEMAG AC 7.450-1 -- It is in the equipment list/roster!!!
How did you get round the vac line running through the pipes of the thermostat? Found this to be the worst bit getting that on /off
Everything was very difficult, but it was done. All nuts and bolts must be loose. It was carefully dragged out
I pulled on the flexi pipe until it split, replaced it with a new one.
With crane this rugh terrain or truck mounted iam a beginner
Dream
What an absolute fcukabout . I'll machine a billet and fit a 88/92 degree thermostat in the top hose as mine is stuck open
how many hours does it take to do this job ? looking to do mine soon...
It usually takes 1 hour to change the thermostat. This car was in a very difficult place. I changed Volvo for the first time and it took 11 hours including filming. Spetsal changes in 5-6 hours
Not for xc 90
Great video thanks. That Egr cooler is a fucking nightmare
Agreed!!!
Better without the music please.
👍👍👍
This video is brilliant, using it now while changing my own thermostat
Good video, thanks. But, You forgot to tighten the air filter pipe !!! You can see it when you start the engine.
So the thermostat on my car needs replacing and the workshop guys said it's a pain in the rear on my car (2010 V70). This video is the confirmation. On a 2008 V70/XC70 it's a 20 min job. So I was just thinking who in the world thought it as a good idea to place the thermostat over there!? On all my previous cars, the thermostat was just a small piece of of something which cost nothing and I could replace it myself if I wanted. Here the mechanic will have to spend half of his day, so it will cost a fortune in labour and the original part is 190 eur, too. 🤦♂
Lets just say I would not have a beer with the engineer responsible for positioning the thermostat.... ;)
Well this looks a PitA job to do. Volvo what were you thinking ?? I have the joys of doing this in a couple of days.
It was quite difficult work. I wish you calm nerves and good luck!
@@avallox4740 it’s a total pig of a job! Nearly there but can’t pull the chamber off the thermostat pipe. No amount of pulling or twisting will force it to come off which is very annoying! I assume this just pushes on and there’s no retainer?? Thanks in advance.UPDATE: chamber part is now finally off. Just need to blindly figure out which bolt holts the thermostat itself in place
Nice tips..
The LTM1070 does have some very strange configurations like the 92 0 46 0 0. This is the only one doing 11 tons on 14 meter
Done
Air inside fuel lines)) and maybe one broken nozzle
Good~
War das Hotel sehr voll? Vor 1 Woche ?

Oliko termostaatti jumissa tuossa asennossa?
This video helped me a lot. Im in the middle of the exact same job with my 2010 xc70 d5. What a huge pain in the ass this was. It took me a lot of force to get the old thermostat out. Stupid design by Volvo. Older D5 engines are much better regarding repair wise
💪😍😎
Good morning
Hello how does the thermostat itself disconnect from the water connection, as the bolt holding it is developed?
Great Video, the P3 D5 has so many variations of cooling system. A garage has fitted the same thermostat and housing, together with water pump, Radiator, Reverse flushed heater matrix, temp sender, checked fan and sniff test. Car still overheats, below 50mph 105deg, above 50mph temp rises until WARNING illuminates. Fans constantly run at 97%. when stationary temp drops to 96deg. I've driven like this for 600k. Garage won't look any further, cannot get cooling system diagram anywhere. Strange thing is drivers side heating works, but passenger side only gets warm and bottom radiator hose feels empty. Any idea's? please.
I did mine. Took about 3 days but I removed more things than this video. Even the heat shield on firewall, window wipers and the plate under the wipers trying to find easy access but there isn't any easy access. Mine was running cold so I replaced it. Now it runs hot all the time. Same as yours about 105 Deg. When first replaced it ran at 96 Deg and over about one year it has slowly creept up to 105. The difference with mine than yours is if I rev it above 2500 rpm it goes back down to about 95. What a bloody stupid place to put a bloody thermostat. After 2013 they changed it to the front of the engine . I'm guessing my new thermostat is faulty so I have to pay another 550 dollars to buy another and do all this work again
Have you found a solution?
@@rogereng9167 I brought a new temperature sensor and installed that. Now temp runs at 96 to 98. That's good because fan only runs at low speed at 98 and not at all at 96. Still should only be 90 Deg. That's the temp the d5 thermostat should open but I can live with 96. It never did smell hot when running at 105 so I guess my old temperature sensor was a little faulty and my new thermostat is also a little faulty.
Mine is exactly the same
@@MrTownace I think you guys have issue with cabin heating radiator, if its not flowing thermostat wont work correctly. volvo have build strange way to open thermostat, and fans are running with temp info. Fans running 100%, cold radiator and overheated motor. And palce for thermostat, well, that sucks.

Hi brother 👋good vdo 👍

The first, the only and the best video of this job-good work! Do you know where the coolant temperature sensor is located on this engine??
I think at the front. Under intake pipe beetwen egr servo and oil filter
It is above the starter of the engine. In this video I hold it in my hand for a second at 6:19.
Thanks for the replies-ill be changing it this weekend, now i know where it sits!
Was it difficult?
Good morning
This is possible to open this allu body and change only termostate? Thanks. Great video anyway
If someone want to know, its not possible :)
Good job. ROXU is a huge crane company from Spain. I have studied in this company to be a crane operator
