DBX Road Trip - Driving from Newport, RI to Mystic, CT
That car is still very popular and the electric Charger that came out this year is a total flop. I just bought a plum crazy 2016 RT and it’s awesome!
Agreed. Congrats on the car! Thanks for tuning in 👍
I have 2013 first year model nice car Better than a Corolla
Agreed! Thanks for tuning in 👍
My brother has this exact car and I have a 6th gen Camaro SS 1LE. We finally got the cars together last week and raced around together! What a blast they both were. A memory I will not forget.
That's great! Nothing better than making memories with your car. Thanks for tuning in.
I looks like coolant...
Yep. Leaking intercooler.
I forgot to add that other than the radiator issue. I love the car and with 17,000 miles I've averaged a solid 35 mpg.
The same thing happened with my 2023 Kia hybrid sx prestige. I had it less than a year and while driving down the freeway lost power. Contacted kia roadside and they directed me to try to make it to the closest dealer. Made it, barely, and was told that a small piece of metal had punctured the invertor radiator. Not covered by warranty. 10 days and $1200 dollars later I got it back. Insurance covered all but my $200 deductible. I asked to have the old radiator returned to me and I can't see any unusual damage. This is definitely either a problem with the radiator itself or the protection of it. My wife and I have had more than our share of new Hyundai and Kia vehicles over the years and I am very disappointed Kia handled this. I haven't added extra protection to the radiator (I should) so anytime I go on a road trip I don't know if I can trust the car or not.
I hate the feeling of worrying about the car on the road. Thanks for sharing.
2021 Mazda 6 Grand Touring or 2021 Lexus IS 350 F Sport,, please help me to choose
Lexus IS 350 all day long.
Poor design by Kia to leave an exposed radiator so low to the road.
Agreed. Need to protect it better.
I just want to know about Highway Drive Assist 2.0 . How did that work out for you? How was the lane keeping and lane centering?
I thought the lane keep assist was very aggressive. Too much so. The Highway Drive Assist worked great, but it keeps reminding you to keep your hands on the wheel even when they are on the wheel.
I just bought a 2021 ILX ASPEC with 8k miles for 25k and I’m extremely happy with it.
Congrats! Enjoy!
come on now ... its a great car BUT cut a few thousand dollars off that price or give the customer a FREE repair 3 year warranty
Thanks again Mike for all the content you posted on the road trip. Yikes on the bill for the repairs on the KIA! I hope your trip back east was uneventful.
It was no problem. Back home thankfully.
486hp for the 2024s is with active exhaust, performance packs dont get an upgrade for hp anymore sadly. The only model with more hp is dark horse.
Mike these videos of your road trip have been enjoyable. Thanks so much for doing this!
@@FordEnthusiast413 Thanks for watching Anthony. This is my first try at it. Glad you like them.
@@ChabbysExtras you are very welcome! You have inspired me to do a road trip next year to South Dakota and visit Mt. Rushmore!
*&&^%$$#@! Highway Rocks!!! Just curious if this is covered under the Kia warranty?
@@timothystafford5390 No. The part wasn’t faulty. Damage caused by rock impact. No coverage.
@@ChabbysExtras Doh!
@@ChabbysExtras Was the repair cost out of pocket for you? If so, how much.

Car content please. Looking to buy the EX version of the Sorrento soon. Best of luck for a safe and fun trip!
Hey Mike. Looks like you are having a great road trip! Great scenery! That Buffalo 🦬 statue was amazing! So did you visit the Raccoon National Cemetery while in Bismarck, ND? 😂😂😂
@@FordEnthusiast413 Nope! The poop donut was enough 😂😂
How’s everything going?~ you uploaded best trip! talk to you soon!=)
Wow it’s amazing that they could not give you a loaner for a week. This seems to be a common thing with Hyundai/KIA dealerships on Long Island. Wife’s Hyundai had to have the thermostat replaced at 20k miles. Dealership did not have any loaner vehicles. Therefore she had to pay out of pocket for a rental from Enterprise(Jeep Cherokee) for a week. Hyundai Corporate reimbursed her a few weeks later. By the way love the Chevy Chase line from Vacation. LOL 😂
@@FordEnthusiast413 It was more than a week. I won’t be back to pick it up until Sept 21st. Long road trip.
@@ChabbysExtras enjoy the Highlander Mike. Safe travels!!
Wow Mike that’s a shame! Hopefully it was an easy fix. Will have to watch part 2 to find out now.
@@FordEnthusiast413 That’s the idea Anthony!
Did KIA check the problem ? What was it ?
Chubby, When it comes time to change tires on your Challenger,l would go with Michelin tires. My 2022 also came with Goodyear Eagles. I have had full sets of Michelin and Goodyear on past cars. Michelin performed better hands down compared to Goodyear. I never owned Pirelli or Firestone so l can’t comment about those. But l can say l feel Michelin you can’t go wrong with Michelin. Hope you enjoy your 5.7 as much as l enjoy my 20022. I prefer a larger car too. I tried Camara and Mustang. I have been in several rear end accidents and l felt “too small” in them. Went with the bigger size Challenger. I think your right ,these Challenger’s will be missed sooner than later. Great content. Your camara angles are good. Your review is honest and covers the major points. Yes, a cars flaws are it’s character and can be points of it’s traits. Great review. Thx for posting.👏👏👏👌👌👌👍👍👍
@@johnroma9412 Thanks! Thank you for tuning in and the feedback. Much appreciated 👍
I hate that lexus goes up in price but HP stays the same. They should have kept the GS model, not enough HP, but nice aggressive styling.
Bought a 2022 RT 5.7 new in 22. F8; green. Love the retro look and round headlights. Every time l park it in my driveway,I can’t wait till the next time l get in and start it up. Love the classic musclestyle body and v8
Sounds like a great road trip. It would be great if you did a little video of the trip and your experiences driving the Sorrento. I think it is a good road trip car. I mean why not? I see other channels doing road trips with EVs. At least you would not have to worry about range anxiety or where to charge LOL 😂
That was my plan. To do some short extras videos. Thanks Anthony. Appreciate the feedback.
@@ChabbysExtras you are quite welcome sir! You said you have done other road trips with your son? In the Explorer Timberline? Would be good to know how the Sorrento compares to the Explorer as a road trip vehicle…
@@FordEnthusiast413 In the DBX last year. I only put those on my instagram page.
Bought my 2021 ILX Premium A-Spec white back in Jan with 25k miles, like new. Love this car. A-spec adds some nice trim and body kit. The shark grey wheels alone make the car look set, add the micro black spoiler and the dark chrome trim on the front of the car and it looks tuff. Quick easy upgrade to wireless android auto, I bought a $42 adapter on Amazon, just plugs into the USB and can be mounted to the inside of the console with supplied double sided tape. Works pretty much seamlessly and flawlessly with the factory audio system / android auto on my phone and no more wires. Keep in mind, spare tire was an option, mine did not come with one so I bought the tire and the kit from the dealership at around $450 tax and mount. I hit a bad pothole in the road (construction zone going slow) and blew a tire about a month after I got the spare, I was so glad I had it.
got 3500 off msrp 1.9% apr 72 months. love it
Congrats! Thanks for tuning in.
4 year old car fresh off lease 25k miles ok. When new 27 to 28 thousand. This one is listed as used 2021 asking price 25 grand. Hello. Lol. Used car prices are ridiculous that makes no business sense. I worked in the car business before covid used luxury cars always lost the most value. Id say before covid this wouldve lost 40% of value. So its like a 14 to 20 thousand dollar car at most. The person that leased this easily with down payment and monthly lease 12 to 15 grand for those 3 years. Lol
Have you shopped cars then and now? Huge difference, things have changed a lot. There's no such thing as a $5k used car anymore unless you buy a junker that wont last with 200k+ miles on it that 5 to10 owners have gngbngd. You are going to pay $10k-$15k for a just "OK" used car car that may have 100k-150k miles and then $18k-$30k for a close to new car with 25k-85k miles depending on make. It ain't pretty out there and people do not take care of their cars anymore, sad.
@@Steve-O_FPV so true people don't take care of there car going 10k to 20k for oil changes lol.
I got my ilx, identical to the one in the vid, one owner lease vehicle clean carfax for 20 grand flat, and it was cpo with a crazy 100k warranty and 27k miles. I spent nearly a year looking for a car, but as the other comment said, you gotta spend that 18-30k to get something new or really low miles. Anything cheaper is gonna have 6 digit miles almost always esp if it’s a Honda or Toyota. Trust
I have had my 2019 with all the options for 10 months now and have never regretted spending the money on this car. I make up places to go just to be able to drive more, daily driver? Hell, yes!
@@1pigpen7 Glad you’re enjoying it. Thanks for tuning in and the feedback. Much appreciated. 👍
The ILX is a wonderful car. Better build quality than the Integra. I own both, The ILX is a better car.

Great! Glad you're enjoying it. Thanks for tuning in.
Because lesbians designed it
🤣
Im looking at a 2021 ILX this was very helpful thank you 😊
Thank you for tuning in. Much appreciated.
Because it's ugly. We had a following. That styling is responsible for alot of people staying with the VA chassis. And It cost too much money for the quality you get. Only thing it has going is it's driving performance. Horrible mpgs. Terrible interior quality. And a headstone for a head unit. Smh
These categorical statements are a turn-off. Your subjective observations are yours, and should not be expressed as fact. I had a 2016, now a 2023 Premium. This car is much better in handling, acceleration, drive ability. The interior, while simple, is a cut above the VA in terms of feel, materials, and is much quieter. Do you even have one?
Many have reported the 2.4l VB generation dyno'd 300+HP at the crank, 290+ at the wheels at only 13psi boost, higher than advertised. Not bad at all, considering it's so de-tuned. Think about it... the STi 2.5l EJ/VA engine variants were at 18-20+psi boost and at what, 310 HP? The VB series has a thicker and more robust block (much higher and reliable tuning potential) at only 13psi, a simple stock protune and it'll be well over STi territory. Tuners are still playing with it, so more to come (e85 tuning!).
Hard to tell in a video but it seems like you’re driving it hard while it’s still within the break-in period. (1st thousand miles)
Beautiful! Looks like you upgraded significantly from the Explorer.
Just a tad! LOL!
Mike this will definitely become a modern day classic. So happy you were able to purchase it!! There is just no better sounding exhaust than the one a Mustang V8 makes. I have owned a 2002 and a 2006. Both absolutely fun vehicles to drive. I almost got a 2013 one as well. I hope I am lucky to one day find a used S550 one. Like you I prefer that interior over the current 2024 Mustang. Just not a fan of those screens. Enjoy the Bullitt!!
Thanks Anthony.
ahhhh yes, who doesn't like the shit styling of a 2010's art college with the everything else to match
cause it's 2024 and it has the efficiency of a car in the late 1990's and the power of one with that same stat, while being louder than a modern car and with a weaker onboard chip than a card in the later 2010's while priced like a mid luxury sedan?
Wish that was the case in Canada :/
Thanks man for this. I'm buying an ilx today, and just have been on the fence. . This video helped me make a confident decision. I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger. I really appreciate you taking time to make this video. You just got a new subscriber! I'll find your main channel too.
Thanks Justin! Best of luck with the new ILX. I appreciate the support.
@ChabbysExtras the deal fell through. I called the dealer and told them I could only afford 500 or less for my car note.. I was at that dealership for 6 hours. The last document I signed was my payment per month... 813$ a month for a 23,995$ car ?! I had to refuse. I feel good about not buying a car from such a scum bag
@@justinbryan595just got a 2019 ilx from CarMax 2000 down 300 a month
The new WRX’s are so ugly and overpriced 🤮🤮🤮 go get a STI instead
nah the fa24 with a cobb stage 2 smokes a stock sti
Who said anything about a stock STI
Honestly the new WRX is great, but its in a pickle where the trims that are correctly priced are missing a few too many features, and the ones that have everything are too expensive for what it is.
Maybe it's as simple as being the color. I would never buy a silver or white WRX
The Dodge Magnum is a bigger boat..😂😂 I have both a Challenger Hellcat and a Magnum...
