All those trackers is great. I’d love a third array on my house but used both of my two solar connections.
I’m waiting for all in one. I need to buy two batteries. I’m waiting for the price to become further competitive as as soon as the new one releases the old prices will come down within a few months. I want to buy them.
SoC has been GE biggest weakness across all their systems
Great to see such progress but I worry that as an early adopter of the AIO that what we have will not be developed further. Will I still be able to add more capacity with a second AIO Gen 1 or will I be left behind?. Could I swap to the new gateway 2 or am I just stuck with what I have?
You wanna try being a gen 1 customer lol
@@stuartburns8657 We are, its been in for a year without any real issues but I may want to add a second battery.
Sorry if I missed it, but when can we expect availability of the AIO2?
Q1 is their target
Any plans for VTH car charger?
I doubt it. It would make their batteries redundant.
Sadly the reality never quite matches with Giv Energy's expectations and sales pitch. The batteries are good, but the software side leaves a lot to be desired. My AIO has only been in 1 year and I've lost count of how many times the installer has been out and/or the firmware/BMS updated. Every firmware/BMS version released fixes one issue but then creates another problem. Its a constant cycle of the battery never working as intended for one reason or another, and there has been no stability/reliability at all. There is no confidence that a fix will actually fix your issue until it is actually installed and a lot of the time its not being tested thoroughly enough before release and just rushed out. The company needs to invest heavily on the software and support side and get all these outstanding issues sorted out quickly once and for all before trying to introduce even more products to the market. The technical support just can't cope with the number of issues being raised by customers as of today, so I dread to think what it will be like moving forward with the complexity of the v2 AIO. If I had my time over again I would not have chosen the GivEnergy AIO battery as the constant SOC issues means you never quite get that 13.5 kWh battery advertised in the brochure, but instead get a 9.5 kWh on average over the year.
I have expressed my feelings around the future of GE products on many forums, and whilst the Hybrid AIO Mk2 seems to be a large step forward it still feels like you have left the OG Hybrid & LV Battery customers wanting. It seems the only reason you have launched the Gen 3 LV batteries is to essentially reduce your BOM but haven't actually provided any future upgrade paths for the LV Hybrid customers.......... In essence, and with an eye on the future electrification, these are EOL products that should no longer be offered by installers. Other than GE wanting to artificially generate sales of new products are there any actual, valid, reasons for not launch larger (6/8/10/11.68kw) Hybrid Inverters that can be used with the existing range of LV batteries? Offering increased "On AC/Battery Only" power rates? And failing that, why not at least bring to market larger AC Coupled Inverters (5/6/8/10kw) that will pair with the original Gateway or Gateway 2 along with the Gen1/2/3 Hybrid Inverters. This would at a minimum ensure that customers are not loosing their investment in the LV batteries and are able to upgrade at reasonable installation costs. There has been a massive disconnect between inter-operation of GE products from the get-go and from what I have heard here, and saw at Solar & Storage Live, this trend is only set to continue. It really feels like you, GE, are prepared to expend the good will, and word of mouth positivity, that helped promote GE to its current market position.
Sorry, would I be able to use the All in One 2 with my 2 x 9.5kwh batteries (currently linked to a Gen 3 5kwh hybrid inverter)? I'd love to be able to use upto 12kwh but don't want to have to throw away 15 kwh worth of 6 months old batteries to do so.
Short answer. No. But with their new Ems device maybe. Won't know for sure until they release it
No. The 9.5 is a low voltage battery. While the All In One's are High voltage. Some enthusiasts have them together using 3rd party software to manage them and display their data.
Ditto here. My Gen 2 3.6kW Inverter is too small so rather than replace it (unless GE would take it back as a trade -in) I would be looking to add an additional larger inverter of at least 6kW to home while retaining my existing 2 x 9.5kW Gen 2 batteries. Only other option is to scrap my existing system altogether & replace it with what I should have had from day one.
@@PaulLandregan shame, making things backwards compatible is a great way to retain customers, having recently spent around £10k on GivEnergy products I'm starting to think I made a poor long term choice.
@PropertyAtAuction we are developing a multi functional EMS called HEMS. This will be able to integrate LV and HV systems in the same property.
I recently emailed Octopus regarding the compatibility of the Tesla Powerwall 3 with IOF. They confirmed that it is not yet supported and they couldn’t/wouldn’t give a me date or even confirm if it will happen. Only GivEnergy batteries are supported as per their website. This is despite their announcement in June. I can send you their response if you wish. I plan to go with E.On NextDriveFixed V4 once my install is complete early December.
Would you recommend the power wall 3 over givenergy systems was looking at givenergy but this Tesla looks much better
Thank you for your comment! It's certainly something we get asked A LOT and there's no straightforward answer. We are platinum installers for GivEnergy and Award Winning Tesla installers, they each have drawbacks & benefits - the best system ultimately depends on your specific needs and requirements. Here is some general advice of when you might choose system over the other: If you are a family of four with no heat pump and average loads (2000 - 5000KWH), then a GivEnergy Hybrid inverter will likely give you the best ROI and meet your needs. If your home is in a much higher demand (5000 KWH +) or you have a heat pump, then you would more than likely make the best use of the larger inverter in the Powerwall 3. If you don’t want the whole home back up but a want the increased storage capacity of the Powerwall 3, then GivEnergy has a product called the All in One, which is worth a look at; this has a 13.5KWH battery (similar chemistry to the Powerwall 3), the inverter is a bit smaller at 6KW (charge and discharge), but you get more bang for your buck particularly if you are a battery only (AC/Coupled) customer. Hope that helps a bit! Let us know if you have any more questions :)
I had it confirmed yesterday (7/11/24) via email that the Tesla Powerwall 3 is not currently compatible with IOF despite the press announcement in June! Very disappointed having just ordered one for install early December.
Hi Colin, we've just had a conversation with Tesla Energy about this - as lots of our customers like this tariff. Maybe for the minute try flux, but our contacts at Tesla Energy tell us compatibility with IOF is imminent, so fingers crossed it won't be long before you can switch! It's definitely something in the pipeline 👀 🐙
@ Thanks for this. I have asked Octopus to provide confirmation that it will happen and by when. No response as yet, so it’s good to hear positive feedback from the Tesla side. In the interim I might go with Flux to use the Netzero app to integrate with Agile. But I am very disappointed with Octopus, and not for the first time either.
Hi. Excellent video which was very helpful. I was a Bulb customer who did not originally have a FIT arrangement. I therefore used another company for the FIT and Octopus for the energy supply. With the installation of a PowerWall 3 I want to use Intelligent Octopus Go. I have been in contact with Octopus but am still unsure how the FIT will be transferred to Octopus after the battery is installed. Any clarification of the process would be very helpful.
Thanks so much for your comment. Regarding FIT payments, it will all depend on the installation method for the Powerwall 3. Check whether your energy supplier is okay with hybrid inverter setups (some aren't). Assuming your energy provide is happy with the set up, you will need a bi-directional energy meter (approved by your energy supplier) and installed by an MCS-approved contractor (make sure you get the make and model your energy provider are happy with). If your energy supplier isn't happy with the hybrid-inverter set-up, don't worry! It is possible with almost all FIT payment providers to install a Powerwall 3 in an A/C coupled format (your installer can fit an additional CT clamp to track the usage of your current Inverter). This means you clock the unit of energy (getting your full FIT payment) and then store it in the battery. You'll also need to tell your energy supplier, they will usually require some paperwork and require a schematic diagram, and your deemed export will change to Smart Export Guarantee. My suggestion would be Octopus Outgoing for your export at the time of writing this comment it was 15p fixed per KWH (essentially you get a FIT payment, buy loads in your battery for 7p and if you buy too much you get 15p a KW - result!) Octopus Intelligent Go and Powerwall 3 is a good choice. The only thing you should be aware of is that Intelligent Go has a fixed window from 11.30 to 17.30. But, it also randomly changes charging slots when the car is plugged in, which means your Powerwall outside of the event could push energy to your vehicle (which you are unlikely to want). To prevent this, you can either get an API to program the Powerwall to amend the time windows on your Powerwall, or you could set your charger to avoid taking charge outside of 11.30-17.30 as long as your Powerwall 3 and your car are synced to the exact times it will work fine. Hope that helps! Don't forget to like and subscribe :)
Many thanks for such a detailed response which i will now be able to address my configuration and ongoing usage. Very much appreciated.😊
Thank you 👍
