Another reason WashU's great: they let you make a video with the application. So much better than writing a college essay. This is my accepted WashU video portfolio or profile submission. Hopefully it can help people out who are thinking of applying to Washington University in St. Louis / WUSTL. Yes, I spent 12 hours making a 90-second application video. Yes, I was doing it to procrastinate wri...

Airpods EXPOSED: Apple's Secret Marketing Technique
Hey, this is pretty late by comparison to other comments but I got a question. Would taking mech engineering and finance (double major) be realistically doable with the course load you’ve seen/experienced?
Sophomore here. My friend suggested these videos and they did not disappoint!
Thank you to you & your friend!
I know someone that runs 3 miles a day for the last 20 years but hes now 67 and running at walking speed ie no strength in legs anymore - how can he fix that and run fast again at 67 yrs old since he used to be a competitive runner , I guess some people age better then others and can still compete in triathlons at 83 etc
Sooo I notice during my 5k runs every mile takes me longer I noticed you said you speed up every mile but with me it’s the other way around… any suggestion or advice on how I can fix that
@@camilababic5914 I still do all of my runs where i speed up every mile! I’d say start out the first half of the run slower than you think you need to. A lot of research done from Olympic runners even shows that you benefit by doing most of your runs in an easy pace range.
Can you please provide the link of the internships which you had applied
Would love a video about things to do off campus, safety, etc! Great video :)
also you keep BUSY I admire you!
@@eyelah aha it's a lot to manage sometimes, but I love everything I do! Safety on-campus is great -- I've never felt unsafe even when walking at night. Off-campus, you have to be more careful, especially depending what neighborhood you go to. Daytime is usually fine, but at night, def be in a group or not out. St Louis has a GREAT restaurant scene - so usually every weekend I'll eat off campus with some friends! I also love running/walking in Forest Park. There are free museums and a zoo. Lastly, St Louis has 3 professional sports teams: Blues Hockey, Cardinals baseball, and City SC soccer. The games are fun. hope this helped! maybe I'll do a full video more weekend/leisure themed :)

Hi! I'm a hs senior and got accepted to washu this fall. I'm torn between there and another school so watching your video really helps a lot. I'm an international from South Korea and it's great to hear that you'll be coming here in the winter! Hope you have a great time :)
congrats on washu! south korea was an amazing trip. i'm gonna post a vlog about it within the next few weeks :)
If you’re alright with it, could you share your grades? I’m an aspiring WashU student.
Good job from Gregg 2! - sophomores who are still learning from your videos :))
heyy thanks for the support! say hi next time :)
Me waiting for a new video fr
Love the ending!!

Daaang this is so good!!! ❤
thanks bill!! guest appearance #2 👀
Yayyy Jamieeee roooocks!!! 🌟🚀
Gavin rocks!!
Yay!! I got into WashU'28😃Love the content❤
congrats!! thanks for the support :)
I had a question, does WashU alumni network and "brand" help to get internships ?
yes! alumni connections are easy through LinkedIn. the biggest benefit I've found is many top companies have specific recruiters for WashU, so they sort through your resume by hand & invite students to interview often
I got into WashU 😊, I had a question, how many courses do you do outside your major, and which is the best course you have taken till now. And I am also an international student from India, so does WashU has vegetarian and Indian food.
hey congratulations!! In Arts & Sciences, you have lots of flexibility to take classes outside your major. For the other schools (Olin, McKelvey, Sam Fox), there is less flexibility, but you should still be able to take 1-2 other classes per semester. For courses, some of my favorites have been: MEC 290 (Intro to Microeconomics), MKT 370 (Intro to Marketing), MEC 470 (Game Theory econ), and Intro to Fiction Writing. I've also learned TONS from joining clubs, extracurriculars, speaker events, etc. As for food, WashU usually has 2-3 vegetarian options. Not super common, but you can definitely find them :)
hey!! great video. what about your korean experience? good job
thanks! Korea vid will drop around early February 😁
great vid! just applied to washu :D hope to join the runners next year
good luck! Def say hi next year if you join :)
Love this video, wish I would've had this kind of advice when I did an internship my senior year of college. Love that you are sharing this advice with future interns!
so glad you found it useful! that's exactly why i made this vid :)
In 2008 I got laid off and spent every day for 9 months putting in applications for the level of career that I was used to. Finally gave up and got a job as a Walmart cashier.
it sucks how much of a numbers game it is😔
What is a "dream company?" You have no idea what the environment there is like, how could you dream about it?
good to have goals to work toward😅 some companies i definitely think fit me better than others
Why someone would go work for free is beyond me. Smh.
a lot of internships now are paid - totally agree tho, free internships are exploitative most of the time
Great video!
Two videos in two days. We stay chilling

hey thank you! I’m a junior at WashU now :)
I’m a senior, and I didn’t take the SAT last year because I was hospitalized. The thanksgiving break thing, I felt that. It sounds like we’re taking the test on the same day in December next week so I have faith that I will do well with your help. I am aiming to get into any college I would like with a 1450+.
POV: you bought SAT prep books in June but you didn't start studying until a week before the test.
I thought I said #jamieisoverparty? But still good video
😱
just became a faang intern after watching this video. thanks, jamie!
premed skillset goes crazy
Gonna take my SAT test next week, aiming for at least a 1350, hoping for 1400+. Wish me luck! :')
so, random question, but what did you mean when you said “the princeton ones were kind of weird”? were the practice tests they provided too easy, or…?
I got a 970 on thr PSAT last year im a junior now and im dtill considered gifted with math. And i still can comprehend elementary school level English concepts
great video!!! in my opinion marketing is a fun class. there are alot more case studies for graduate program. lots of theories for undergraduate level. if you need further assistance or advice, please ask me. i will be more than happy to help you.
😈 *Promo sm*
A tiny mistake? How could you? #jamiedobetter #jamieisoverparty
😞😞 gonna be my last intern vlog ever
Hiii im really considering going to washu (right now im a rising high school senior). I havent heard a lot of good things about mental health resources on campus, can u please share your experience and opinion?? I am also curious about on campus safety during the day and night. Thanks for taking time to help with my questions, means a lot 😊
hey! the campus counselors have very limited availability- you'd prob have to book them in August. Although there are many counselors in the surrounding St Louis area that are accessible. There are also some clubs on campus like Uncle Joe's, which is peer-led counseling that is free to all students. I've always felt safe on campus, day and night! security walks around often.
@@JamieNicholson thank you!!
I need elektron pdf
My daughter is attending WashU this fall. So exciting! She got the full tuition Danforth scholarship. She was accepted at Brown but the park and open spaces at WashU, and the funding and facilities for her major (fine art) were huge pluses. Brown’s aid was not super great either. It’s funny, she’s your hair twin, has green eyes, ran cc and track, and loves mint chocolate chip ice cream. I’m sure you’d be great friends. She’s got some dorm choice questions. I’ll have her dm you on instagram.
sorry I missed this comment til now! I’m so glad to hear everything worked out for your daughter😁 having forest park right by campus is a huuuge perk
@@JamieNicholson all good. She will be there in less than a month now. She finished enrollment and she’s been assigned housing at Rutledge Hall. Wooo-hooo!
