As a professional rigger I would ask that you reconsider your use of those spring opening clips for attaching both to the D rings but also at those beautiful bikes. they are not good for running off a winch and can easily be damaged and fail, and if any of those points fail while you're loading, it could be very bad and lead to person getting hurt and a bike going down . I would look into a shackle like a loose pin shackle that would unscrew you only need screwed in by hand.. it takes slight bit of more effort than just clipping on because you have to put the pin in the shackle, but it's a minor thing it's gonna be much stronger and much more reliable. You do not need to put a wrench on it to tighten it up just do it by hand and it could be sized appropriately to go over the thickness of the D-ring itself. Also the bow end of the shackle will protect very nicely. The nylon webbing straps are using on the forks.. good luck we're looking at going full-time in the next couple months hauling a Tri and a full dresser and trying to figure out how to get them both in the toy hauler

Good video, appreciate the thought process in model choice. I'm 69 looking for something more comfortable than my 40+ yr old Trek hybrid. It's nice that Zizzo has refurbished options to save a few bucks. Not many used Zizzos on eBay and I'd have more trust in a "like new" refurbished one. Thanks!

Does you condor chock stay in place when your traveling....even with tie downs it can slide.....I would be nervous

I tried this using your recommended double loop cable on Amazon. It is total garbage. The lead connector on one side immediately failed and allowed the cable loop to slip out with barely any tension on it. The bike hadn’t even started moving yet. If this is the one that you are using, I’d recommend you get a better quality cable before yours breaks too. The cable that you are recommending should only be used as a security cable, to lock something up. It should not be used to pull something with.

By the time I load and unload that way my trip is over.

What kind of lubricant do you use on the hitch rails & hitch pin?

We just got back home after pulling our 44’ 5er around Alaska and Yukon. We knew going in that the roads would be extremely rough and that’s why we purchased the BD5F. I’m 100% sure that some of the bumps we hit even at slower speeds would have done damage both inside and to the pin box area. Not with the Hensley Trailer Saver, though. All is intact and fine. No damage anywhere. Run your tires a little softer to take up the crack bumps and enjoy the trip.

Hi, I tried this way of loading. I must have had a bad setup. I’m looking for your list of items used but can’t find that. How do you connect the two nylon straps to the winch hook without scratching the fender?

I just ordered the winch and cables… I feel this is safe.. I don’t want to lay down my expensive bike. If it takes a few minutes extra to keep it safe…I’m good with that. I bought a remote control to put in the outlet so I can do this alone.

Appreciate wife bending over directly in front of camera. Nice ass! Otherwise, shouldn't be wearing open toe shoes while doing this. Also, those front wheel chock devices should be bolted down. Additionally, how do you unload the bikes?

Suggestion: Permanently mount the winch out of the way, and redirect the cable where you need it with pulleys. It'll limit your time spent rigging dramatically, and you can place the wheel stand first.

Safe & easy? Really??? Ride the bike in on it's own. That's the easy way and it's done in 10 seconds. PS ... I do like your channel regardless of this.

Do you still recommend this ford truck hitch on a standard 250 bed.

Although I appreciate your ingenuity I feel its overkill, and you can drop the bike when half on ramp and ground unless you have super long legs. Once you overcome the fear of scratching bike or RV you quickly learn momentum is your friend. Gain enough speed to make it up the ramp and into RV with little or no throttle on ramp. For unloading I keep engine off and in first gear. This allows you to use clutch as a rear tire brake while using front brake.

The manual of my liberte says that a good seatpost height is at waist level (when you're standing next to the bike) maybe that's a good way to deal with not having the numbers on the seat post

Hi Dave. I enjoy your videos on the trailer saver hitch. Can you tell me if it sits low enough to install a Tonneau cover. I just purchased a 2019 f450. Im undecided on the hitch. I currently have an air safe hitch on a 450 with a flat bed. The trailer saver looks easier to remove if necessary. Also, I don't think air safe is using the binkley head any longer, and i really like that.

Great review. Travelling the roads in the northeast, having this hitch would be a worthwhile expense. However, the biggest problem is removing it from my truck so I can use the full bed. Perhaps the answer is to keep the Curt Q24 hitch that I have for moving my 5th wheel around on an-as-needed basis (it comes apart in 2 pieces that I can handle and I’m 73 years old) and using the BD5 for our longer road trips and I can ask our neighbor for help to install it with his skid steer. If I didn’t have such a great Neighbor, it’s wouldn’t be worth it to lose the access to my truck bed.

Thank You for this trip down "Memory Lane" ... though some of what you showed definitely is NEW to me, having left Almonte about 40 years ago. The last time I was actually "in Almonte" was for a funeral at Comba's Funeral Chapel, and I didn't have time then to be a tourist . Then covid hit, and that ended any thoughts of travelling, but now I think it would be nice to see all of the changes in person, as well as some of the familiar landmarks!

FYI the Almonte War memorial was made by another Almonte lad, R. Tait Mckenzie, who designed several post ww1 memorials in The UK and the USA as well as this one in Canada. He and Naismith were fellow students at Almonte High School, back in the late 1800's. Some of Mackenzie's work can be viewed at the Mill of Kintail.

Thanks for the video. I would suggest strapping the front of the bike to the frame tubes , not the crash bar. The crash bar is only held on by 3 small bolts and not particularly strong.I also have the Condor system.. That's a great set up.

Those backing plate nuts really do not go on very far when putting on that caliper mount... Looked to be almost 1/2 of the threads within each nut are engaged...

Position your straps on the forks to save on fork seals. Other than that excellent very informative.

I just received my Zizzo Via 5 days and I love it.

Very innovative. I would never hook the down straps to the crash bars. They will fatigue and eventually break. Seen it happen more than once. HD sells a tie down anchor point that goes on your front forks and is very secure. Almost unnoticeable too.

I am currently doing this but with a 36 ariens blower mounted to my 8n's loader need to add some wins to get it out to 60 inches (will be under powered tho) Worst case i can cut back the high banks with it.

Sweet system, great looking bikes & couple. and you've given me ideas. Next season I intend having a toy hauler camper, and either a Harley or Honda trike. Will most likely load it the same way. I use a wench strapped to a tree to pull the pontoon up onto the beach every winter, but the idea of doing the same while loading a bike never occured to me. Thanks!

way to difficult to get to

Have you ever had a close call with a weird angle that your RV has come close to hitting your truck bed rails? Watching your original video, when you were driving and showing the hitch & RV simultaneously, it looked like there was a fair amount of side to side sway. Obviously, that is intended to be a good thing and absorbs a lot of the action that would otherwise get transferred to the RV or truck through a more rigid system. So, I am just curious if you have ever had any close calls with the amount of flex this system seems to offer with the RV getting close to hitting your bedrails of the truck. My son purchased an F450 and is highly considering this hitch for his setup. Thanks for the videos. Much appreciated!

Great video. I have been nervous about loading my bagger on my steep toy hauler. What is the cord that you use to attach to the motorcycle. I noticed they are black and look like some type or cord.
