Thas was a very bad driver and this nowadays probably wouldn t happen because of safety tech.

To begin with, these vehicles would never have collided, secondly, there's so much protective equipment in modern day Volvos you and your family would be safely enjoying a fika before the ambulance even arrived and thirdly, get to know the history of car safety (not only boring Volvo tales). Had he not been on his phone or falling asleep it never would have crashed. Im supersized the system didn't see it coming and alert him. I had a 2017 V70xc and the alert system saved my life and my Volvo from head on collision. I feel asleep at the wheel doing about 45mph on my 50min drive home after working 70hr week. The alert system woke me up, the beeping was to full on impact( basically not a beep at this point but a solid loud high pitch) I immediately yanked the wheel to get back in my lane as hard and far as I could. The AWD system kept the car planted and the pirelli's pitched the car so hard my head hit the window bar between the front and back doors, my foot missed the break petal from the hard maneuver and my hands came off the stearing wheel. With that happening the car basically stratined itself in my lane and I avoided the crash all together. When I stopped the car and got out to make sure the driver of the other car didn't need some wet wipes to clean their britches, they said theyed never seen a car maneuver so hard and stay planned on the road. They said my wheels basically disappeared up under the fender wells and the cars body roll was so excessive they could see the roof of my car. Folks Ive never driven a car that would take a 45mph extreme hard right and not have the a$$ end be leading the way when you stop or flip and roll! Volvo for life! Its not just a cheesy saying!
