For years Go Left has remained the same. A log conveniently wedged between a rock had created this classic rapid. A recent high water event has moved the log allowing some new lines.

Joaquin day #1. When deciding to stay off of committing runs due to flashing waters, the day took an exploratory turn. We ran Looking Glass Creek, Upper North Fork French Broad, and had a session at the Alexander Wave on the French broad. Tomorrow looks to be the day for perfect lightning riding in the southeast.

Upper Cherry is one of the best runs in California which makes it one of the best runs anywhere. The 10 mile hike in and 10 mile run usually takes most groups 3 days to complete while some groups have done it in one. This run has it all; slides, holes, waterfalls, and boxed in gorges. This run truly is paradise for Class V expedition kayakers.
