Isn’t there a way I can see My Fair Lady, directed by Julie Andrews, anywhere?

It was memorably nostalgic and excitin to experience the "original" production - sets, costumes ... The performances were superb (comparisons are irrelevant) and brought the musical alive exuberantly. It was a privilege to witness something with Julie Andrew's "energy" giving it life.

Doesn't look, act or sing like Darin. His voice is thin, and nowhere as rhythmic or elastic. He also lacks Darin's immense charisma (which even Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr. admitted was the most magnetic in the business). This guy also seems a bit effete; Darin had that Italian Bronx swagger. Seems to me like a completely lousy choice.

Travelled from Malaysia and watched this lovely show in Sydney on 3 Oct and it was fantastic! Love everything about it. Thanks Ms Andrews for such memorable experience!

Beautiful performance

It looks like a wonderful production. It may be unfair, but honestly no one can top Julie Andrews in this role. There's a good reason she's been a great star for 60 years.

I don't understand people comparing every actress that plays a role Julie had played to Julie. That's just not fair to the actress! Anna is a great performer, you just have to give her a chance.

Directed by no other than the one Fair Lady of all times! Julie Andrews is a Legend! This world is a better place bcoz of Julie!

Directed by Julie Andrews that is awesome! But Julie Andrews can never be topped not even come remotely close to The Eliza Doolittle Julie created! Julie Andrews is a treasure!!! She is a tough act to follow! But with her directing am sure it will be brilliant!

He's not trying to imitate Darin here. David is a strong tenor with a good range, hence he has starred in Les Mis etc. and you should check out his Broadway album. Darin wasn't a dancer.

Campbell is absolutely a lackluster imitator. It has neither the gestures nor the musical taste of Darin. Not to mention the voice. Without that voice range that made Darin unique. And that charm that made Darin so cool, where it went ? Much better Kevin Spacey ! Campbell è assolutamente un scialbo imitatore. Non ha né la gestualità né il gusto musicale di Darin. Non parliamo poi della voce. Senza quel range vocale che lo rendeva unico. E poi quel fascino che faceva Darin così cool , dov'è andato ? Molto meglio Kevin Spacey !

I traveled to Sydney and felt very lucky to see the most beloved musical My Fair Lady directed by Julie Andrews herself. Tks to Julie that it was taken back to the original, and cast and crew were wonderful. Fabulous sets, costumes and music.

To see the "new" Eliza, followed by Julie's "original" is to see a pretender to the throne and REAL royalty.

If people are "that" unhappy with the casting of Anna as Eliza. I will take that ticket without batting an eyelash! She is an enormous favorite of mine as far as musical theatre offerings go. If this advertisement is putting you off and you already made the purchase. Well no need for a refund. We can work something out and I'll put the ticket to good use. Everybody will win.

Very pretty Eliza, but nowhere near the incredible clarity, vocal knife like precision or vocal power of Julie Andrews. Her "oww wooo uldnt it be loverly" sounds muffled, fragile and weak, just compare that with the Ed Sullivan Show with Julie Andrews and the differences are incredible. Even when you hear Julie sing these songs from her concerts in Japan, such as I could Have Danced All Night from 1992, Tokyo, her full voiced final notes shakes the entire theater and you can hear people screaming Brava at the end and throwing flowers on stage. However, then again, we will never have another quite like her so perhaps its unfair to even compare.

I wish I could go! It will certainly be awesome! Hopefully there will be more videos on youtube, and a blu-ray/DVD later.
