Using an inexpensive Ancel smoke generator machine to find a vacuum air leak in the engine bay.

This is a superb gift for an at home mechanic. The Ancell smoke generator allows smoke to be introduced into the engine at pressure so that leaks can be detected. Part of my boys toys series .

If you are installing an Amazon Blink doorbell then you may be surprised to find that your doorbell has a disconcerting wobble when you press the button. I find it hard to believe that I’m this day and age that we can have manufacturing procedures that allow this level of inaccuracies . This is a solution that does not invoke messy silicon.

Porsche Boxster roof not opening or closing. Simple repair. Latch micro switch repair.
Thanks for posting the video. I had exactly the same problem and you were correct in your assessment of the cause. The solder joining the micro switch contacts to the wiring loom connector had failed. I just needed to melt the solder with a soldering iron and presto, problem solved. The problem is confirmed by checking for an open circuit on the connector pins closest to the key lug. The switch is normally closed and changes to open circuit when the micro switch is activated.
Biggest piece of crap I’ve ever bought 😢
It’s actually a great piece of kit if you take into account its limitations with fine dust. I use a Henry for building waste.
How do i order for a new switch
Cut to the chase... 40 seconds of blurb....... and bingo... consider changing your name to shaggy dig story?
Lol. Did you find it? Have a look at how I clean the Porsche roof. That will blow your mind.

That design fault was rectified in 2019 but my unit missed a process step and was made with it present.
Really helpful thanks
Cheers David. Hopefully the other videos will come in useful for you too. Actually there is a second video on this that I made.

So ... all I have to do is buy an air compressor? Why didn't I think of that? After all, they only cost a few bucks, right? 🤣🤣🤣
lol. Read through the comments . Some people just share the video on fb page and they have friends who have them. People have used compressed air in a can, windy days, tapping etc. I guarantee if you post that up on fb one of your friends will have one of Someone will say why don’t you just ask your mechanic to use his.
You were spot on. You can get compressed air for £1.40 or so per can. Hope that helps.
Thank you this worked
You’re welcome.
This is the same what the screen looks in the Samsung dryers.
It is.
Hi there, my radio or Bluetooth music doesn’t work, is one of the cable fault? Thanks
With these units, anything could be at fault.

You’re welcome. It can be a paining g for these things.
Can you recommend anyone in the south-west(Cornwall) to carry out a pre-inspection check please?
Ask the seller if it will stand up to a carvx check first before spending money.
@@Cuttothechase Thank you. I have the carvx. It has 2017, 2019 and 2021 kms recorded but nothing from new (2004) to 2017. I know that there should be an initial 3 year check then every two years. Does this suggest that it might have been clocked in Japan up to 2017?
@tuisitala9068 speak to new acre cars
@@Cuttothechase Thank you. I have done and they say that this pattern of checks is quite normal.
where is the starter relay/ fuse located?
I would imagine under the bonnet .
nope..it's under the steering drive..I found already
@jacksonkulu3809 cheers. That will be useful for someone. I should post up a fuse diagram sometime.
Never thought of using the Karcher on the top great idea
Thank you. Post back to let others see what you find.
With the exception of my V10's dust bin now sliding completely off the front off the machine when I'm emptying it I am mostly happy with the unit.
V10 is a great model. Did the video help you?
@@Cuttothechase I've never experienced the problem you're showing here unless I intentionally block the front of the machine.
It still would benefit from the technique.
@@Cuttothechase Agreed
Great video, fixed my v11 dyson, cheers mate
Thanks a million for letting me know. Each comment really makes everything worth while. Thank you again.
Cheers mate n thanks for vid
You’re welcome. It is a great work around,
I like that you thought it was going to work and then it didn’t. You didn’t edit that out and the whole thing is more genuine.
Thanks for that. It’s such a long time since I made the video but my stuff is all genuine. Helping people the best I can.
I stumbled on some cans of compressed air at Home Depot (I use it for my musical gear) the other day and so I used that as you directed and voila!! back in business!! That is one fussy vacuum cleaner. Thanks a million for the help!!
Thanks so much for letting me know. It’s brilliant how the internet has made our lives better.
Would a tyre inflated at a garage do it
Nope as I think they do not operate unless they are connected to some pressure.
Just share the video on your fb feed and someone will tell you they have a compressor. Ask them to do it lol.
@@Cuttothechase av got one it’s in hut though and I’d have to clear it out easier to by new dyson
Thank you so much, my machine now works, even the mechanic couldn’t fix this
You’re welcome. Thank you for the comment.
It works the same on Nisan Qashqai 1.5 dci 2009
I think they are all pretty much similar but I hate to presume. Thanks for letting others know.
Worst help video I've ever seen
Why do you say that? I have worse!
I just had a look at the likes versus dislikes 66 percent likes 33 dislikes. That’s not ideal and I’ll give you that. Unfortunately it’s all done and gone but it should be quite easy for someone with an understanding of electricity to see the process. It’s not rocket science but if you’re unfamiliar with mains electricity then this job is not for you.
@@Cuttothechase Lol, you win :) I've just tried to open one and given up ... she'll have to put up with a soldered joint and a cable tie
@LennyMacleans dear Lord lol. Is the wife a keeper?
@@Cuttothechase Ok .. two cable ties
I have a toyota alphard 1mz engine, fuse under the dashboard is ok looking for the relay for the ac compressor can you please tell me where it is on the vehicle . Thanks
I would imagine it would be under the bonnet. I am not with my alphard but I think some relays exist just under the windscreens midline.
thanks, I'm going to try this tomorrow.
Did it work for you?
@@Cuttothechase Yes! completely fixed the window problem. thank you. saved me $$$
There’s a much quick way of doing this.
It was such a long time ago I did this . I’m sure there is. Thanks for mentioning it.
Thanks for making this. Your visors are always very informative. Much appreciated.
Glad you like them!
What model number?
I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you. It has long since been replaced.
Thank you 🙂 Can't believe how much dust came out. Careful with the tap tap tap. Blimey!!!!
lol. Yes it is crazy how much dust gets stuck there!
Thanks 🤩
Welcome 😊
Thanks!!
One less worry.
Didn't see you changing any spark plugs, as per your video title. Disappointed.
Sorry. I described it .
Thank you very much. I was working on a Qashqai today and i was a bit lost
You’re welcome.
You’re welcome.
Worked for me! Thanks!
Thanks for acknowledging. It makes all the difference to my site.
Makita tools are rubbish, DON'T buy, battery drills, you pay say 80$ for a drill and rechargeable battery, battery dies, and 75$ just for a new battery, what a scam, its bin job...
There are different ranges. -$80 dollar drills are not going to be decent drills. The battery has to be LXT or 40volts. Buy the right tool for the right job.
@@Cuttothechase So Makita only make drills for the Pro market do they, nice, so then, why do they make them for the amateur market then,,,, that have crap batteries which are over priced, is it to attempt to push us into buying a new one every time, sounds little like a bit of built in redundancy going here, again? Good business practice, FOR THEM!
@normski262 no they make a home range and a professional range. Consider them light duty and heavy duty. I’ve used both and I wish I had done my research before purchasing. Also I wish I had read the instructions as they would have lasted longer too. The Makita home range is just like all the other big brand names, a compromise. I’m not sure if you’ve watched the video but it’s important to do the research before the purchase They do have 1 year guarantees .
@@Cuttothechase of course, but the batteries should last longer than about 4 charges, as I was only using it now and then, it was used about 6 or 7 times, drill is fine, but the batteries are dead, would not recharge. go and buy a new one and BANG 80%+ of an entire new drill inc the battery. thats the scam here..
@normski262 you’ll always need to keep some charge in those batteries. If you let them fully discharge then they will refuse to charge. I’ve done it myself. I have fewer batteries than tools so they are always being recycled. I feel your pain though.
Panasonic should give advice to figure out the fake eneloop battery
Did you but fake ones?
I bought a dozen of eneloop pros AAA size battery with price 1usd each. Look like the ones shown in your clip. I think they are fake because cheap price, I tested the capacity and the result is 650mah vs 950mah on the label. Acceptable isn’t it
I've bought a new dishwasher 2 days ago, and I'm disillusioned. My old one (Ariston), which still worked well but started leaking water from underneath, washed very well and the dishes came out of the machine shiny and dry, and it was 26 years old. This new one (Indesit) leaves the dishes soaked, despite opening automatically the door at the end, and the dishes are stained. With my old one I never used salt or rinse aid. My old one only reached 60 degrees Celsius, this new one has an hygien program that does a final rinse at 70 degrees Celsius, which I have already tested, and the dishes still come out soaked. With the new one, I use salt, but I didn't use rinse aid. Is it the salt that is leaving the dishes stained?
Use rinse aid . It will also help the water evaporate.
I choose samsung over LG. I regret the dicision. When drying its too noisy. Someone caN take it free
Just don't buy from the UK no matter what. Could order it from Japan.
I wouldn’t complete agree with that statement. The UK is filled with bad examples of auction cars.
I don't disagree. Just the Alphard purchase from UK is too expensive and the milage is too high.
@alhazenmediax the mileages are often clocked back in the Uk by unscrupulous dealers. Unless you know the auctions in Japan or have a contact that you can trust, you can still get ripped off. I’m trying an import from Japan just now and I’ve invested over 12 hours on one car and still have not got all the details and the price is still not great due to shipping and VAT costs. I will keep you posted how I get on.
@@Cuttothechase Many thanks
@cuttothechase @alhazenmediax does anyone have any advice on how to import from Japan?
Thanks man it’s helped a lot

Nice video. Its been a few years now. Do you need a rubber o ring or rubber washer for the in fill plug? Ive had my clutch and flywheel chnaged and its dripping out the filler hole (i hope)
I’d be lying if I said I could remember . Was it not in the video?
@@CuttothechaseHa, no worries. The filler plug is there. It's a magnetic one but no rubber washer. I don't know if the person that changed it put too much oil back in.
