Gentrification 101. I grew up in oak park and went to sac high. I believe the phrase she is looking for in the 60s referring to the freeway expansion and declining values and economic downfall is ‘white flight.’ Because of it’s proximity to downtown and uc med center, it has been gentrified in the north section which drove prices up forcing natives to move out because of skyrocketing rent. Please invest in oak park and create subsidies and programs that enrich its native residents and give them a foothold in their own generational community. As a side note, oak park is still heavily gang active and has been red since the 80s. 3 blood sets, oak park norteños and hells angels has its sac clubhouse there.

Hi there Jaclyn.. I'm from So Cal but have been living in Spain or 20 years. My family has just come back for a year and orange county is not for me. We're looking to relocate in January but just for 6 months. Any suggestions on rentals or neighborhoods for someone who doesn't want to driving all day. I've got two high school kids who are used to public transport and freedom. And it's just not easy here in so Cal.
