I did 14 years in the Navy. Medically Retired as a Chief. I have to say that my experience wasn’t bad. It’s the military it’s not utopia! The civilian experience was the real gut check for me. 😂

What ship and who you trying to fool. I was on a carrier and that head and shower areas were cleaned daily. Never once were they or ever did they look like that. Quit with the wool pulling over the eyes.

my 5 must haves were laundry pods (we all knew the guy who didnt do his damn laundry) a log of chewing tobacco (not for my own use but when the ships store runs low, you already know), a hard drive with movies/anime/tv shows etc (you can get a lot trading those), a decent pillow, and some velcro to put the tablet/phone up in the rack. had me golden all the way through

You are not allowed to have a beard and mustache unless they touch . At least that was the rule when i was in. The lockers and bunks look small . But it is comfortable.

Well not to up on NAVY GI inspections, etc. but when your video clip showed the shower stall, it looked like a pigsty, from the fixtures to the walls to the floors. We were in WW2 & Korean War era barracks @ Ft Bragg, but our common areas, such as the showers & heads were spotless. Or your butts wouldn't see the outside until so. That video was disgusting & a shame conditions are tolerated like that, Gr8 for recruitment!!!!

Ha ha! Being a rated DC, I did my TAD doing DC maintenance for supply. Having some of the best Filipino food I ever had was a perk. I loved having the bottom rack. I can crawl in it when I needed to and roll out if we had a fire alarm.

I would just advice, if your getting station on a LPD, you get more room and you have more quality of life on those type of ships.
