Pretty sure this "intermediate" level. Dennis McCoy was riding "expert" at this time and Aparijo and Osborn were riding pro.

He looks exhausted. I believe there was a silly AFA rule requiring use of the "small ramp" or points would be deducted. You can tell he has no interest in riding the wedge ramps.

I just stumbled across this video. I won the Pro Trophy race at this event AND I am also the loudmouth on the mic announcing for RL and Mike B and listening to it now, I realize I didn't do too good of a job!, but back then it seemed to work, haha! I was 20 years old then and overnight I became 60....how did that happen?

Love the fact I can still be amazed with footage close to 40 years old. Had to double check at that 360, and the fly out at the end was amazing! Eddie did not compete he was putting on a show for his peers, amazing how he was so polished all the time.

Amazing, almost flawless run, totally coreographed. Martin is an artist.AND most of these tricks were his. A pleasure to watch, had never seen this particular run.

Joe was top gun at that moment in time. I remember a caption for one of his pictures in Freestylin' from this contest, that said something like "Joe's tailwhip air variations reads like a Mc Donald's menu,singles, doubles,triples and this,a one handed tailwhip air", more or less.He was killing it!

Wow, what a throwback! I was in the crowd too! I went with a good friend of mine who lived in Ozark. He had a Haro Master and I had a GT Pro Performer back then. This was the first big freestyle event I attended and it was Rad! I remember seeing Dennis McCoy busting some serious G-turns and rolling tricks. This sure does bring back some great memories. The early days of BMX Flatland is very underwhelming.

Holy crap I swear I thought being there was a dream because I've never seen any mention of it. Where exactly was this? . I was 13 and raced this, and seeing these guys was what made me switch to freestyle. And the fact that I sucked at racing. So many amazing memories of an awesome childhood. So awesome because of BMX. Still follow it and still have a couple of bikes. Still suck.

I love "Mike Dominguez ", he will always be my favorite! I rode vert ramps myself, I know what is up!
