You're Not Talking to Garth Brooks: Internet Based Scams
There is no privacy in libraries. Librarians initiate contact with law enforcment all the time when their patrons sign out the wrong books. And it's perfectly legal and within company policy to do so. So there you have it -- sign out the wrong books and end up on a watch list.

Excellent presentation!!
I’m trying to find my birth father I was adopted and only know his name and that he passed years ago his name is mark lay and I’m Joshua mills
My family was listed in an estate inventory and appraisement and was recorded at the clerk of court. I did not see any record of the distribution of slaves. Can you tell me where I'd find this information? I found the probate record from 1853 on Family Search.
Why does KY erase history/records of birth, death certificates prior to 1912 and deeds? The criminals are stealing land by creating fake deeds and selling the coal with fake permits of a fake deed. They're getting 100% profit and EASTERN KENTUCKIANS WEALTH is currently still being STOLEN on a daily basis. Why aren't people fighting for their property. Answer is, Kentucky River/KY River Coal/KY River everything is blocking by paying judges off. The CRIMMINAL ACTIVITY never sees light of DAY!

Thanks for letting us know, Joy! The link has been fixed.
Really informative! Super impressed with the work at the Bullitt County library system
Were patentees required to sign these field surveys? If I find the patentee's name in the bottom left corner of a 1796 Logan County, Kentucky Survey (South of Green River Series) is that the patentee's signature or is it possible that another person wrote the name of the patentee there?
Thank you for your question! Please direct questions about land patents to the experts at the Kentucky Land Office at (502) 564-3490 or by using their online contact form: www.sos.ky.gov/land/cities/Pages/Land-Office-Contact-Form.aspx
The bottom of the survey would list multiple different people involved in the surveying process, housekeeper, chainman, marker, surveyor, deputy surveyor, etc... Sometimes the patentee would involve themselves as one of those roles listed above. However, it was not common for the survey to have any kind of signature on the front, but would often times have a list of people the survey may have been assigned to on the back. The back of the warrant and survey were the spots where it would show any sort of conveyance before ending with the person who received the grant; the warrant and survey were able to be assigned to others however many times before being used to create a grant. The back of the survey and warrant may have contained signatures by the person assigning it themselves, or a mark, usually an X, accompanied with someone signing to attest it was that person's mark.
@@travis2333 According to the Logan County Surveyor’s Book (Book A, Page 180) : 200 acres surveyed for John McNeel by virtue of Commissioner’s Certificate No. 300 lying on the north fork of Ray’s Branch. Beginning at white oak marked “IM” running thence N35 W130 poles (2,145 feet) to a white oak & black oak in a military line belonging to McFaddin thence along the same S 70 W 220 poles (3,630 feet) to a walnut ash & elm on the side of hill thence S 65 E 187 poles (3,085.5 feet) to a stake on a hill thence N 55 E 210 poles (3,465 feet) to the beginning. It names Jacob Smith & Charles Mitchell as the chain carriers (CC), John McNeel Sr as the marker (M), Price Curd as the Deputy Surveyor (DS) & Rowland Madison as the surveyor (SSC) on 10/19/1796
@@travis2333 How would I ever be able to see the back of the warrant & survey showing conveyances?
@@johnmcneel5543 Please use the phone number provided by the KDLA in their reply and ask to speak with the Land Office regarding patents. The South of Green River patent series has not been digitized yet, but a copy can be mailed to you.
Watching this for class. For Sci Fi and Fantasy I would recommend NK Jemisin as a good contemporary author.
I can't believe it can be this good

You try to give the video more brightness it will be great if you do
This was a great enlightening overview! Thanks
Very helpful for me. I'm up in western Canada trying to track down my ex-husband's ancestors who seem to have moved from Virginia in the late 1700s on a loose pathway through where Kentucky/Tennessee boundaries meet, and settled finally in south-eastern Illinois. This helps me see what is/is not likely available for research at those early times.
We're glad to hear it was helpful for you!
