On mythic difficulty, three Volatile Charges spawn, which detonate after 30 seconds. You can reset the timers by picking them up or dropping them, but you can only hold one at a time.
It turns out that all three charges will despawn if any one of them detonate, so all you have to do is reset the timer of two of them and pop a big defensive cooldown for the detonation of the third.
Three additional charges spawn at the beginning of phase 2, so you just have to do the same thing again.
Nothing else is particularly dangerous. I did a sloppy version of the actual tank mechanic, but you can actually ignore it and survive pretty easily.
