I say Boo-Hoo for the Vietnam veterans. They allowed themselves to be sent to an illegal war that clearly had nothing to do with the US. They were essentially invaders and aggressors in someone else's country that did nothing to the US. The Draft was NO excuse...as I am a Vietnam/Draft resistor. They dodged a bullet from the people they wrongly tried to kill. Their Homecoming WAS coming back to the US ALIVE and able to have a 2nd chance at living their lives. They should have been a powerful influence on keeping the US out of other "Vietnams" like Somalia, Lebanon, Iraq and Afghanistan. They are too concerned with their legacy and place in history to put their experience to good for the country. They are not victims or heroes. They are survivors

I felt blessed to be able to sit in the co-pilot seat of a DC-3 in the late 90s in my late teens because it felt like history. I was not aware of exactly what I was sitting at the controls of. Now, seeing this video, I realize now how much I knew from feeling but still underestimated how special those moments in my life were. I flew in (didn't control but did it enough to know everything including TC talk) cubs, bi-planes (THAT was amazing too!), and dual-prop privates, before but even though there was an operational P-51 there that DC-3 was more of an awe. Now I know why. It carried them.
