Racing incident.

I'm quite surprised he tried sticking it on the outside of Island Bend of all places! As soon as you're on the grass there you're a passenger in your own car. Live to fight to the next corner, which just so happens to be a well cambered Shell Oil corner, a fun overtake spot or at least a great place to get a slingshot exit! Good content, Ian

#1 - it irrelevant what you did 'every other lap' #2 I would have gone for the left and probably made the overtake #3 you could have gave him room but weren't obliged to do so But I would definately call this a 50/50 and a racing incident

The car making the overtake is required to make the move safely, in this case yes you have been off track and are slower but he hasnt caught you up by the braking point so hasnt earned the right for you to move out of his way. You have made it clear (just over the top of the hill) that your going to stay right (because you should be left) therefore he should be looking at going left braking earlier then under cutting you on the exit. At the point where he tries to force his way through he has already run out of road, at this point it looks like he hasnt even noticed he's driving into a gap that doesnt exsist and he's heading straight to the grass but yet still hasnt applied the brake to get out of it, if at this point you had moved left he still wouldnt make the corner from that angle and at the speed. The second phase which spits him off into the barrier is a racing incident for me, it may have been avoidable if you had stayed on the brakes a fraction longer but trying to predict where a car is heading after a spin is more luck than judgement. I think it need to be chalked up as one of those things, as i think it was just a misjudgement on his part. If it goes to the stewards it will be seen as his fault.

During the turn where the contact occurred, I typically stay as far to the left as possible, even going over the rumble strip. You were positioned more toward the center, and while you were turning left, it still felt like you were too far to the right initially. It’s possible that my line could be incorrect, but that’s the only explanation I can think of. However, Martin needs to exercise better judgment. While overtaking is possible in that area, it requires caution (and understanding) and for the car being over taken to be on the extreme left or right of the track. He approached recklessly and with some vision of entitlement to own the road and for other cars move out of his way (I don't buy his comments that you stayed left on previous laps). As you say he would have probably dropped of the island......racing incident.

It's a tough call, and I imagine it'll be called a racing incident if it goes to the stewards. You had an off, but the rejoin was safe, and even if you are slower than the car behind at that point, you are under no obligation to give up the position and have every right to defend your position (as long as you don't move twice, or move under braking). You picked your defensive line to the right, and it was clear that that was where you were going, regardless of what your line was on previous laps. Maarten needed to drive the race that was in front of him, not what happened the previous lap. It's very unlikely that someone's line will be the same when they're hotlapping vs defending, and as the overtaker, you need to be aware of that, especially if something unusual has just happened. For me, the bottom line is that neither of you caused the incident, but there was some poor decision making in the heat of battle for sure.

I think it was a racing incident, you were probably optimistic to think you'd stay to the right ( see your move on the guy that tried it on you, where did he end up 🤔) Also, where did he think he was going, if he'd have hung back, he might have made the move stick. In the end, a racing incident. 🥴

Hi Coxy. My take is that it's pretty much on you. You had the off, and rejoined down on speed. Marteen was closing rapidly, and made a reasonable call to take the right side. As mentioned, your correct line was to move across to the left to open the approaching bend up, but having left a bit of a gap on the right side - enough for Marteen to get his nose up that side you then shut the door and pushed him on to the grass and in to the accident. Interestingly, you didn't make the bend either, and were never going to from that line. No judgement here though Coxy - I enjoy your channel, and I congratulate you for pulling off a manoeuvre worthy of Schumacher in his glory days!

I thought that was you yesterday! I wasn´t sure so I didn´t say hello but I kinda had a feeling I would end up in one of your videos hahaha Good seeing you in the lobby mate! Unfortunately I had a stutter right before T1 and it made me put a wheel on the grass and that meant I had to fight my way through the field. Ended up in P13 after a few good battles. Hopefully next time I can try to keep up with you :)

Having another car in the Cup its always great, this way we have a more diversified grid. I have done a bit of training with the Audi, and it handles quite nice. In Laguna Seca for example, it behaves quite good in the cockscrew, like it glues to the tarmac. Same in Spa, at Eau Rouge, the car behaves real good too with almost no loss of stability. I´m pleased with the Elantra I admit, still my favourite to race, but I sure will give the Audi a try in the races. Have a great season mate, and lets see if CoR team can also finish strong!👍💪 And of course a big thank you to Fuzo, that made the cars of the TCR Cup a reality!!👏

I downloaded this car but when going into a race I was getting CSP version error. So I had to update that too. I didn't think my CSP version was that old.

Won't the launch control process be an issue as you can't switch to 1st in AC while waiting for the light's.. unless lfm have managed to change it.. it was one major issue with standing starts.. Actually I some servers do allow it but the lfm ones didn't so I assume that will change now

other issue is neither the relative or crew chief is recognising the race as multi class.. jim thinks im doing amazing just working my way through the TCRs lol

This race had quite a start indeed, havoc all over. This was my first race trying the Porsche, so I was still adapting to the car. In all this mess of a race I still ended with positive SR at least and a decent finish. I´m enjoying the Porsche to be honest, the more I drive, the more I like the car. You managed to end at the top 10, you recovered well after the chaotic start (that last lap was unexpected though). And well done to CoR team, well done indeed! And am I the youngest in the team... is there anyone with less than 42? 😅 TY for the share of the race, and lets keep racing😎💪

You had a good result in the end, considering the first couple of laps. My race was like yours but more of me throwing the car off the track and ended up a lap behind. All in all, lots of fun 😄

excellent bit or racing and love the intro video.. i drive the track pretty much the same lines as you but not as consistently or smoothly.. defo picked up a few tips lol.. hope i can recover my SR so i can catch you in the TCRs for next season
