    Nice video. It was cute the way you set it up via the title and the into. You’re right AND wrong. Beginners shouldn’t trade naked options until they know what they’re doing. I personally LOVE trading naked. I noticed you mentioned Robinhood. Yes RH will not allow you to trade naked because it’s basic as a platform AND it’s for beginners however most PROFESSIONAL brokerage firms allow you to trade NAKED (noticed I used the word PROFESSIONAL). Personal I love TastyTrade because I don’t even have to ask for a different trading level to trade all styles. I just ask for the works.

      If the order has been "filled" that means the order has already been executed. If you entered a position, like buying shares, you can execute a sell order to close your position. If you don't understand how to use your trading platform I would highly recommend using the paper money practice trading so that you can learn how to use the platform without risking your own money.

    • @investingforthecommonman4533

      No problem, you should be able to use the drop down option chain menu to open the two expiration dates you are looking for and then hold "control" while you click on the bid and the ask of the two options you want. If you make a mistake, you can make adjustments on the order form that shows up down at the bottom of the screen when you click on the bid or the ask price of the option that you want.

      Yes there is certainly a way to do it. Holding control is only a shortcut. I believe if you click on one of the options that is part of your strategy and go to the order form you can click on the button that says "single" and select the strategy you want to use from there.

      Yes! The only difference from a Roth IRA and a standard investing account is the tax advantages when saving for retirement. In both types of investing account you pick the investments and have the freedom to invest your money however you see fit. If you are looking for a simple solution, investing in an index fund like SPY or QQQ is generally a recommended, hands off strategy.

    Great video! I am 41 and NEED to jump on this! Quick question, I played around with some IRA calculators out there and see that there seems to be a higher return on traditional IRA vs the Roth in all cases. I can't figure out why that would be the case? It seems like the Roth is the only way to go (for most of us). I am married, she makes under $100K and I am even less after my expenses deducted each year on the photo side. Trying to figure this all out so I can get going before the end of the year.

    • @investingforthecommonman4533
      @investingforthecommonman4533 Год назад

      A Roth IRA will likely be best for you. Those calculators can be a bit misleading. With a traditional IRA you get to deposit money before paying taxes on it, but you have to pay taxes on the principal and the growth that you are withdrawing during your retirement. With a Roth IRA, you go ahead and pay your standard income tax now, but then you don't have to pay taxes on the principal or the growth in retirement.

      @@investingforthecommonman4533 This is great advice. Yeah, I was thinking the Roth, is a no brainer (tax free in the end) so max that out each year from now on, no matter what (and make that the priority). Then, yes, keep a standard brokage account and contribute there as well. Perhaps have a mix in there of more aggressive assets (that I still need to figure out). Maybe I could have a % set to say the S&P, but then have some % in just a handful of specific companies that might trend well.

    Selling naked positions allows for a LOT more flexibility and higher win %. The real reason why you should not trade naked options is if you think it is safe to do so on MEMEstocks, now that will destroy you. Using the insurance analogy from the video, selling a naked position on a MEME stock is like selling insurance to a fresh-faced 16-year-old with a cherry red lambo. You will get some sweet premium(charge a lot), but that kid IS going to wreck the lambo and you will be covering the damages(while he smirks at you).

    • @investingforthecommonman4533
      @investingforthecommonman4533 2 года назад

      You are correct. It is possible to use naked options effectively, and meme stocks certainly come with a much higher level of volatility. But we live in volatile times, even standard stocks can make sudden volatile moves under the right conditions. It doesn't matter if you have a 99% win rate, if 1 bad trade has the potential to wipe out the gains of 99 successful ones. This video is only meant to caution excited trading novices, bot prohibit the strategy in all circumstances.

      Once you have deposited funds in your Roth IRA. You can use those funds to buy Index funds, Mutual Funds, Stocks or Bonds. One of the advantages of a Roth IRA is that you have the freedom to chose what your money is invested in, as opposed to a 401k. Even you leave your IRA funds in cash, then you will make a slight amount of interest similar to that of a savings account, but the main purpose of an IRA is to grow your money by investing it in the stock market or bonds. If you have questions on how to buy stocks or other assets within your Roth IRA account, I have made several videos on the subject.

      You should contribute to your 2021 IRA before you contribute to your 2022 IRA. You have until tax day (typically Apr 15) 2022 to contribute $6,000 to your 2021 IRA.

    You really cleared up what I wanted to know in the first 3 min I wasn’t sure why they weren’t asking for information regarding my job and it’s because it’s non taxable while it’s in the account which I had no idea about until now thanks

    This is a very slow and discombobulated process to edit an order . There are much easier and faster platforms. Especially for day trading.

      This is a step by step guide for beginners. Once you know what you are doing, editing orders never takes more than a second or two.

      What do you recommend. I hate how the simple options to edit seem to disappear and only let you edit certain parts only.

      @@investingforthecommonman4533 How do you actually edit orders that were saved under the customs. The options to actually edit the conditions don't exit

    so when you set it up do you then have to choose where to put your money ? Like Stocks , ETF's , etc. I'm very new to this but not young so I want the best bang for my buck.

      Yes the Roth IRA is just a tax advantaged investment account. You still have 100% freedom to invest in your hard earned money in what you believe in. So you can choose whichever stocks or ETFs that best suit your investment goals.

    What if I'm rolling over from an old 401k? does the 6k max limit still apply?

    • @alrocky
      @alrocky 2 года назад

      Q2 No. You may contribute $6,000 to IRA and rollover *any amount* from old 401(k) to IRA.
