Real truckers just use the CB . All this flashing lights crap has got out of hand . Back in the day , we let the dude know he was clear by the CB . If yhe cb channel was being used, we turn our head lights off and then back on, never using the high beams. Then the European idiots came here in droves on visas and and started the stupid high beam thing. Now every idiot behind the wheel likes to high beam you when your looking in your mirror to see if your clear . It just pisses me off . STOP WITH THE HIGH BEAM SHIT ! I'm 35 years on the rd , trucking sure as hell aint what it used to with the new generation of so-called truckers. These new steering wheel holders wouldn't make a pimple on a real truckers ass . Take away their GPS and they would be sitting on the side of the rd without a clue how to get to their destination. I started trucking doing 5 stops in NYC and 2 stops in Boston 3 times a week and had nothing but a map, calculator and a pencil . We didn't have cell phones and had to use pay phones at the shipping / receiving, standing in line to wait to use the phone. Nothing was easy !. We didn't even talk to our families for days at a time , calling from a rest area pay phone when it was 10 degrees out , we didn't talk long. I'm about to sell my last truck and retire so you guys can have channel 19 making all your stupid noises on it and crashing into each other on the hiways , im out !
