I don't know if anyone noticed this but there is one scene where Satou found Yamazaki crying while playing this song in the background. Hence, it was his comfort song. The whole time during the first episode that it was replayed in the other room repeatedly, Yamazaki was probably in pain. "Every single day since last month"
The light novel makes it a lot clearer, Yamazaki was living as a hikikomori because he couldn't stand the people in his college, that whole month he was isolated.

@@LordZero666Same but Instead of walking out I just never returned. I failed all my classes except for physical fitness class ironically even though it was pointless for grades I kept exercising. So I found another path in life. College didn't really click for me.
