Ypu flare over a distance/gradually with 747. Not just a sudden flare it's not a fighter jet. It's about 250 tons of steel you are flying.

As a real life pilot I wait for MSFS implementing gliders. For what I see this is totally unrealistic. Such a big thermals over trees and not near the ridge.... for your part, you have to fly thighter in the centre of thermal. Gliding in RL is much more aggressive than what unenperienced simmers believe. 👍

Started my engineering career on the 747 classic 45 years ago. LOL... It's amazing how much you forget. I seem to remember when putting power on the aircraft, I used to operate two switches at once (obviously not possible in a desktop sim). I still have my training notes, but it doesn't mention things like this.

Small correction: You turn the radar to STBY to not toast people on the ground, but I don't know if it also has Weight-on-Wheels protection. Turning the radar to 5° up is because your initial stage of flight is Climb, so you care about current altitude and higher altitudes. When you reach cruising altitude, you would turn it to 0° or -5°. It follows what you do with the transponder in an A320 series, for instance: you turn the transponder and TCAS filter to ABV until Cruise, then BLW until Landing.

I just purchased this aircraft while at work. I can’t wait to get home and try it out. But all this old technology is very different to what I’m used to. Thank you for your video.

Nice airlane. COULD DO WITH BETTER TEXTURES AND SOUND THOUGH BUT STILL VERY GOOD.

Terrible landing, wayy too low. 50ft over the threshold next time and actually flare. At 50ft you should also be staring at the opposite end of the runway and flaring slightly sooner (30ft or so depending on weight, speed, etc...). From what I could see that was a roughly -400fpm landing, and whilst it's not about landing rate, there is still such thing as too hard. Try better
