I remember when the concept of death core was when you had a real death metal band that played mosh riffs like Dying Fetus, Skinless, and Internal Bleeding. Then all that stuff got reclassified as Slam and brutal death metal and deathcore became something completely different.

@@indigo_flow1983if you were born in 83 we are the same age. When we were 15, no one in NJ was using the terms slam or brutal death metal. It was all just death metal. Edit, I looked at your channel and now I understand why you don't know what I am talking about.

@@AMPHETASAUR I did not live through that time since I had not yet entered extreme metal, but they only talked about Death Metal and by word of mouth recommending music, bands and albums, but it is not necessary to have lived through a time to have some information about underground fanzines. of the time, where terms like Brutal Death Metal were already being used to define bands like Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse, and bands like Internal Bleeding were already using Slam as a term, as well as in the hardcore scene they were also dealing with terms like Deathcore, Metalcore, Beatdown, but going back to Damocracy it is simply a Death Metal band.

@@indigo_flow1983I don't know, they didn't hand out many zines at the shows I was going to or playing in the NJ NY PA tristate area .... I mean, yea there were some zines, but very few zines (even fewer that covered extreme metal) were ever seen by more than 100 people so I don't treat what was written on them as the gospel. I heard people say "Brutal Death Metal" but back then all that meant it that they were pushing extremes in death metal. Hardcore and Death Metal were very separated in the 90s. We were getting our music off MIRC prenapster, pre RUclips. So if you hadn't started your journey yet as you stated, how did you know what we calling death metal with mosh breakdowns back then? Just curious. I know you don't realize this because your doing this because your journey started more recently, but you are "retcon"ing. All these sub genres came out years after these bands innovated the music. It's ok to be wrong. I've seen many people who weren't around when it happened that became fans late make the same mistake you are. That's why I only follow streamers who were actually there... Except ImaKaiya, that's my homegirl, but at least she admits her noobness.

Almost everything you hear on this album was written by Shaune Kelley. Rutan is great, too. He contributed the song The Hate Eternal and co-wrote Morbid Fascination.

That's just how I feel about anything Death did after Scream Bloody Gore, would listen to this or Sinister's Hate 1995 than all that artsy fartsy pretentious monstrously overated shite anyday.

Candiria’s first demo Subliminal is kind of similar to this but with a little more jazz/math metal style. Their early stuff was pretty cool. Then they turned Nu Metal and ruined a good thing.
