as a jaded adult, I think it boils down to cost. considering the logistic cost, refridgeration cost, there's only oh so much wiggle room within the $1.25 price(I know "cost" is even lower than that.

On a business trip in Munich, I saw a soda can of pickle juice among the beverages. I asked if this is "normal" and the guy in the store said, "yes. it's not bad, quite refreshing actually" I didn't have the stones to try it.

Yeah, I was surprised how just off tasting pepsi it ended up being. Wondering about the half life of the ingredients used to reproduce the pineapple taste, or exactly how much there was to begin with. Again, totally my fault for not drinking it while it was still "fresh"

overall it isn't a bad series, I just feel bad when I can't recycle the bottle/can. give it a try if you can find it.

it was great while it lasted. I've tried adding lime juice and zest to soda water, but it's just not the same...

@ it certainly doesn’t go well with a meal unlike a mojito, where there’s mint, this one lingers, effecting taste like drinking orange juice right after you brush your teeth

@@ZombieLemonz umami cola is the stronger more ingredient rich version of this. It’s like curry spices with sugar. But they were smart enough to print the label upside down, requiring at least one mixing of the contents

Totally agree with you. There are a few more in this series I haven’t tried, but I’m convinced this series is just to showcase how bad the drinks are and make you want to buy the real expensive fruit

maybe. but the chalky aftertaste makes me think more calpis than the lactobacillus of yakult. finally found a bottle of mango skal! will review a little later as I have a few more already in the pipeline...

they've released the same drink last year. if you can get your hands on something called "melon soda" regardless of brand, this is the energry drink version of it

It’s readily available in convenience stores throughout Tokyo, but I don’t know about other regions of Japan
