I don't know why I struggled with this boss. Just keep the common fireballs in your peripheral sight, hit it, back off, and repeat. For the fireball fest, just jump over its head. I downloaded Share Factory to share improved videos, since I uploaded them directly from my PS4.

This battle was hard for me in my first run of Hollow Knight. It was along time since I stopped playin PS because of work/study/daughter. It was fun.

In fact, I did use a spell but it wasn't on purpose and it did not hit this random, annoying, coward, ugly, random again, repulsive, weak, stupid, lackluster, random once more, Grey Prince Zote. This is half practice, half luck. So git gud but also pray to god of randomness.

First hit is free, his first attack is always front dash. Just jump before every attack: if he dashes forward, go forward; if he jumps, go back. The closer you are, the less likely he uses the ground slashes or saucers.

Don't react until he does it, keep yourself close to the corners, and I wish you luck with the spikes.
