First, congratulations on making your batch and for stepping out and starting your business 🎉 I would first encourage you to pray and ask God - where and how should I sell my soaps? If you want to give a few away, I recommend they be small pieces. (Check out my video on how I make my samples) Aside from the part advice-or should I say in addition to -I would start with your friends and family, who love you and want to support you and see you succeed. When I started, the Lord led me to text my family and friends. I explained why I started making soap and that God told me to take orders. I added the kind of soap, size, benefits, and price. I included a picture of the bars and offered a discount to the first nine people to order. Most didn't want the discount because they just wanted to support me. Also, I only took orders for 72 hours. From this message, I sold about 50 bars, giving me the money and confidence to move forward with what the Lord told me. I also included a photo of the bars. I am confident that God will reveal His plan to you. Hello, there are a ton of recipes online and on RUclips. I would suggest starting with the kind of soap you want to make or some ingredients you want to use, like - coffee soap, shea butter soap, homemade soap, three-ingredient soap, or how to make Castile soap.

Hello, I was able to pay myself within the first month or two - however, my husband is the sole financial provider for our family. This business provides me with part-time income to help pay off our debt. I think pricing bars differently works. I have luxury bars at $27, premium bars at $18, and essential bars at $18. Charge what you feel your bars are worth and ensure you make a profit. I market my business through in-person sales at markets and events, email marketing, and Instagram and RUclips. Lastly, I started with one product-soap, with two to three different scents (unscented, lavender, and oatmeal and honey).

Hello, all my bars are made with salt and they cure for 3 days.

Hello, great questions. I don't make melt-and-pour, but the clean-up may be the same. I’m using vinegar in the spray bottle to help neutralize the lye (this is for the tables and containers I use when I make the soap. You won't have to worry about this for the melt-and-pour), and I use it to kill the smells of the essential oil in the molds. Sometimes, the soap's smell lingers like lavender, eucalyptus, or lemongrass, and let’s say I'm making an unscented batch the next time around -I don't want even a hint of essential oil in it or on it. It also helps when people have allergies. Soap and water will do the trick, but I also like to use vinegar as a fresh next step.

Congratulations 🎉 It sounds like you have a great recipe! And you're right-there's a big difference between cold processing and melt-and-pour. I've never made melt and pour before. But, once you master cold press, you‘ll have the skill and confidence to move on to anything you want in skincare, like lotions and creams.

Hello, are you making castile soap (just using Olive Oil as the base)? Any salt, like table salt, will do. My loaf molds weigh 5 lbs each. I'm not sure of the right amount of soap to add, but I'm sure once you know what size your molds are, you can probably Google it. Please let me know how it turns out and what you find.

Lol, I felt the small bars were just too small, and they lasted three times as long. When I used Dove bars, they melted in the shower and only lasted a week. My bars are for people who love value. They last, on average, about 2 months. They are not that heavy. And yes, some of my customers do cut them up.

Olive oil extra virgin is so good for our bodies in so many ways but we dont all know that we should be drinking it daily. look up EVOO and polyphenols and what they can do for us health wise .

Yes and no. No, I didn't have any inventory or money when I first started. I took pre-orders for two kinds of soap-an unscented facial bar and a lavender-scented facial bar. I got the money for the bars up front. I told everyone I was only taking orders for 72 hours. After that, I collected the money and made the soap they ordered. With the leftover money, along with about $1,000 from my credit card, I bought supplies to make more soap, building an inventory of about 65 or 70 bars, and then I took that to the market to sell. That's why I say yes and no.

No problem, Andrea, it’s my pleasure to answer questions. You should include: The name of the product - so if they like it, they know what to ask for. The ingredients - if you have the space, just in case someone may have allergies, they can read it to see if there are any issues. Your website or phone number-so they can contact you or place an order. This is the most important part because if they love it, you want them to be able to get in contact with you again. Also, pro tip: I try to get the person's information every time I give out a sample. I say, “ Do you mind if I give you a sample to try? “When they say, “Sure. “Then you say, “OK, and let me get your number or email (with whatever one you prefer) so I can follow up to see how you liked it. Then, actually follow up. If they say no, you can't have my info-that's okay, too. But you shouldn’t get any too often because they understand you are giving them something. The sample costs money to make, so at least let them “pay” with their information.

They are not expected to remain long-term customers, but their initial purchase can get the ball rolling. Next, I recommend you use social media (Instagram, Facebook, RUclips, and TikTok). It’s free and a great way to document your journey. Pray the Lord leads you on which one to start with as a main platform and what you will post there. Also, gather emails from people who buy or display interest in shopping with you in the future and build your email list. Don't neglect local markets, fairs, and events. I have samples available (small samples). I will make a video on how I make mine. So subscribe and turn on the notification. You may find the video helpful. Regarding the names, I use both Biblical names and regular names based on the ingredients-either works. I always use the soap and pray, so add this to your prayer as well. You don't have to apologize. I'm here to answer questions as best I can. When you say, “Is it okay?” Whose standpoint are you speaking from because you’re the business owner? You make your own rules and marketing strategy. If you mean from the salon owners' perspective, I would definitely suggest speaking with them and letting them know your idea.

I mean some products as soaps even a totaly different store will take and marketing you ,like Photo studios or regular Pattiserie cookie store. From opinion of yours, how small should be sample products ? Is it ok to request a litlle review , so they can tell you which is the best ,and to contact you? Or just leave a contact? Getting the business in order, product lines, branding etc. I have not launched for the new year, following God's instructions. How's things going on your side.

Whether that's soap, candle, or the other items you mentioned - choose one, and if you like it, make a little more for family and friends to get their feedback. Then, submit your plans and ideas to the Lord and, as you said, wait to hear how and what He leads you to do. Also, don't spend a lot of money upfront. As I said - make things you need and use them first. What country do you live in?
