Did you like/try The Mountain King vsop brandy?
@@davism542 I didn’t get a chance to try that one. Is it also Thai?

MY favorite beverage
@@worldalvin nice! It is tasty! 🥂

@@swtpeakay sweet! Let me know what you think when you try it. 🥂
..aLways been my go-to!
@@cpea12 Ayy solid! Have you tried some of George’s other expressions? I’m curious how they compare to their flagship?
@@liquid_x the 8 year is great, too!!...The #12 is now called Original Recipe, aged at least 6 years. Always a big fan of Dickel products and visited the Distillery in Tullahoma.. Enjoy!
Waaaaay too sweet. Smells delicious, could be mistaken for a rum or bright bourbon, but zero agave flavor, so the least favorite of the 25+ bottles of tequila I’ve finished off. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll finish, but not my favorite sipper by any stretch.
@@munkeepilot haha thats fair. What are your favorite sippers?
Well, whatever happens to be in my glencairn glass at the moment 😜. I’m a big blanco guy, but I love the spice…I’m also a big fan of peaty Islay scotches and smoky mezcals. For blanco tequilas, I really enjoy sipping Volans and Siete Leguas and Patron (yes, it’s popular to hate, but with a blind tasting, you’ll be shocked how high you rate it if you’re a blanco sipper). But I’d have to say Tequila Ocho is my go-to blanco. Fantastic! Affordable! Beautiful, simple bottle. I’ve spent far more for far less enjoyable blancos! But my real secret is this…sip slowly for a glencairn, really try to savor the aromas and the experience, and you’d be amazed how you can enjoy sipping some of the “worst” stuff out there! Kinda the same way that your girl doesn’t have to be a “supermodel” to be gorgeous…take a “lesser” girl and really start to explore her, get to know her well and prepare to be amazed! Keep up the nice videos, great quality!
Altos is a secret word of mouth Tequila in San Diego. It blows away other high end overpriced B.S. celebrity tequilas including Casa Amigos . It is as you said earthy, no smoke, complex, slight backend sweetness . Best of all you can get for as low as $19.95 certain stores Chula Vista, CA. My favorite is the Anejo and reposado but the blanco is also very good. So Smooth and flavorful, a delight.
@@ClaudeDiamond ooo so cool! I would love to try the reposado or anejo sometime, cause I really do enjoy the flavor of the blanco. 🥂
Its called Yellow Bird Brother. 😅

OMG, I wish I could get this here in the states! You're video is amazing I just found you :)
@@lauraharak8015 Thank you so much Laura! I wish you could too, the cherry coke flavor of it is so fun to work with. If you find it somewhere, please let me know 🥂
Nice review, however in terms of smoothness, there has yet to be a vodka which comes even close to Grey Goose in that price range. Let me know if you have thoughts on that.
hmmm it's been a very long time since I have had Grey Goose, so I can't speak to it specifically. Haku vodka is the smoothest vodka I have reviewed, though it is more in the Grey Goose price range. Down more in the $20 range I have enjoyed Reyka, which I also reviewed. I am really curious about Beluga as I have seen it being displayed in movies and such as a very high end vodka. I have also been told Absolut Elyx is smooth similar to Grey Goose. Hope this helps, let me know what you try. 🥂
You deserve WAAAAAY more subscribers man. Great review thanks :)
@@KristophDeLove thank you so much Kristoph! That means a lot. 🙏
Amazing video! Also! I finally tried that bumbu rum and omg its my favorite on the rocks rum ever. Thank you for reviewing it!
Thanks so much Hunter! I'm so glad you like the Bumbu. When I tasted it I had a feeling you would like it. Cheers bro! 🥂
This is an absolut banger of a video. :^)
haha exactly what I was hoping for ;) thanks dude! XD
Another excellent review. I’m not a vodka connoisseur by any means but good to have thoughts on a possible ‘house’ vodka. Finlandia has always been my go to, or Russian Standard if I can’t get it. Stoli gets an honourable mention for reasons of 90s nostalgia. Which others at this kind of price point do people like?
I had a roommate back in the day, White Russians were here nightly cocktail 🤷♀️, she used Stoli. I love tequila, use vodka to clean my yoga mat😂.
Thank you so much! ooo I haven't tried Finlandia yet, but you are making me curious haha. I tried Russian Standard in a martini and I was very impressed. My personal preferences: For this price point (around $20) I have enjoyed Reyka which I did a review on. My current favorite is Haku, though it is a bit higher price point.
I remember it about 20 years ago its better for me to see a review than drink it now so cheers to you!🎉
Haha I can understand that. I'm glad it helped! Thanks for the comment.
Super smooth imo, but had a hint of a vodka/everclear finish. Feel like if they aged this I’m a barrel for a bit it’d be amazing.
@@tonytone4867 yeah I can see what your saying. Yeah that makes me very curious about their reposado and anejo. Let me know what you think if you end up trying them.
The cookie was better than the soda.
Did you try the Oreo first or the Coke?
@@liquid_x Soda first. I've had "soda" themed treats before so I assumed it wan't going to change. But snack themed soda was new.
This sounds awful😂
Aaand the most alarming iteration is the one I want to try-the infusion😅
@@RenayOpish it was an interesting experiment for sure haha. If you end up trying it, let me know what you think. If I can get my hands on more Coke Oreos and Oreo Coke, I might try carbonating the infusion. Cause I do think that could be good.
Tennessee whiskey is essentially an evolved version of Kentucky bourbon. Maple notes just make bourbon better period lol
The maple notes are exceptional. I do love what the Lincoln County Process brings to bourbon. 🥂
@liquid_x you should check out heavens door Tennessee straight bourbon and their double barrel you'll thank me later lol
Bourbon drinker here. Tried REYKA about a year ago from a fellow bourbon drinker and I was expecting run of the mill vodka. Was completely blown away. I never drink vodka neat but this one is the first that I actually prefer neat.
Thats so cool! I'm glad you like it. I thought it was super good too. Much different than your normal cheap stuff.
Red bull is Thai yes
@@nategin9009 the original Redbull Krating Daeng, yes. The redbull that we see around most of the world is actually Austrian. I have a video on it here. ruclips.net/video/YWWSArXWaKA/видео.html
Plantation’s 5 year aged dark rum is my favorite. This sounds DELICIOUS. I will have to get this when I see it
Ooo I bet that one is good. Definitely let me know what you think of this one if you try it.🥂
Legitimately my favorite vermouth
nice! This is definitely a solid one. I'm glad you like it 🥂
Was looking for my fave sipping rums. So far I tried Plantation XO, Ron Buelo 12 and Flor De Cana 12, and loved them all. Got this cheaper Cruzan Black Strap for rum and Coke. Sipped it last night. Absolutely loved it and is my fave in terms of value.
Is there a trick to acquire a taste for stuff like whiskey someone gave me a bottle of this today and I always notice people talking about the different flavors in the alcohol but I can’t taste any of it so usually just buy cheap stuff
This did take me a while, there are a bunch of techniques to be able to find more flavors. However also being able to understand what you are tasting and being able to articulate that into describable words is another skill as well. I would suggest starting by tasting 2 different spirits side by side. Try to figure out what makes one different from another. After that try different brands of the same spirit (rum, gin, whiskey, tequila, brandy). I would stay away from vodka while you are learning just cause vodka is going to be so hard since there is so little flavor in it. Let me know what other questions you have. I have been thinking about doing a video on tasting so your questions are definitely helpful for me. 🥂
Luxardo maraschino liqueur does not have a cherry essence. It is mostly flavored by the cherry pits.
What are you referring to by cherry essence? I can imagine the pits are doing a lot of the flavoring. Similar to how some amarettos use peach pits to get their nutty and fruity flavor. 🥂
@@liquid_x Luxardo maraschino liqueur does not smell or taste like cherries. It is more about the woodiness from the pits. Pits don't give a fruity flavor.
@@jimklemens5018 That's interesting that you aren't getting any fruity flavor, because they use the whole cherries, with the stems and leaves in the liqueur to infuse. I can understand the heavy woodiness because of the stems and leaves though. Maybe you just got an extra woody bottle or something.
@liquid_x The Luxardo website doesn't mention a taste or smell of cherry fruit.
@@jimklemens5018 I think we are at a disconnect because taste can be very subjective. Everyone’s pallet and nose is different. So saying something doesn’t have a particular flavor might be accurate for you, but not for someone else. Also sure, on Luxardo’s website all they say is “the aroma is typical of marasca cherry distillate”, which suggests cherry flavor without explicitly saying it. However many other websites including Liquor.com, Diffordsguide, and people on Reddit, all describe the liqueur as having a cherry flavor. Give it a taste sometime and let me know if you find some fruity notes.🥂

Is Carmel the same as caramel 😅
Everyone has their own opinion on this. My personal opinion is that they are different. Carmel is those chewy cubes, or what you put around an apple. However caramel is the sauce that you drizzle on top of whipped cream or the stringy caramel in a snickers bar.
I want a shrub taste test, comparing a couple brands and flavors!!
Ooo that would be fun to do at some point. Thanks for the suggestion. 😊
That's a pretty darn good review. I get it from Tijuana all the time. I use it as a mixer. Good stuff.
@@supercalo2000 Thank you so much!! Ahh so cool! Yeah it works well for sure!
Bitter melon and caterpillar and dirt are exactly the notes I'd want in a tequila
haha I know it sounds weird, It's what brings the earthy tones. But honestly it is really good. 😄
Such a generous review. I hate it when compared to Superior. By far the best one is the one produced and bottled in Puerto Rico.
@@dianaprince4864 ahh thank you!! Okay I heard recently that there is a Cuban one and a Puerto Rican one. Is there a difference on the label? I am curious to try each one.
I find "GG" to be a more AFFORDABLE "triple sec" option for margaritas. If you're an ALCOHOLIC like me (😲😆) and you're making MULTIPLE margaritas in one sitting, those suckers ADD up if you're using the PRICIER alternatives Grand Marnier or Cointreau. 💰😉
@@mikekisonu6825 I totally agree. Cause mixing it hides the lack of quality compared to the ones you mentioned, but it still has more complexity then a cheaper triple sec like Bols or something.
@@liquid_x Thanks for the response! 😊👍 Gotta DISAGREE about the "quality" issue though. Recently conducted a taste test between "GG," "GM," and "PF," and while they ARE different (with "... Ferrand" being the smoothest), they are ALL top quality liquors, vs. a Bols or a Llord's, which are strictly bottom of the barrel, budget friendly options meant for your average, high volume bar. 😉🍸
@@mikekisonu6825 Oooo good catch, I only recall "GG" being slightly more harsh than "GM", but I did not try them side by side, so my recollection could be off.
@@liquid_x Again, thanks for the response! 😊👍 All too often, one will take the time to post a comment, only to feel like it's disappeared into some vast "black hole," all for naught, especially with a clip that's YEARS old. 😕 Re: "GG" - I noticed the "harshness" in "GG" as well. Not sure if that's due to the HIGHER alcohol content or some other factor. 🤔 But, if one is using it as a MIXER, that "harshness" will inevitably mellow out in any cocktail, while still retaining that "orange/brandy" flavor profile. Also, the price point ($20 in NYC for a 750 ml) can't be beat. 😉 I've recently become a MARGARITA fan (more of a BOURBON man myself), but, like I said, bottles of Cointreau and Grand Marnier (reaching upwards of $40 here in NYC!) can get PRICEY, especially if you're constantly "experimenting" to get that mix that's just right for YOU. 💰😕
@@mikekisonu6825 Of course! ahh I gotcha, I totally agree with all of what you are saying. I think those are all about the same price here in WA too. That's great! I love a good margarita, and a good bourbon. 🥂
I love Gin but hate Tanqueray. I find the PALATE so hot and without nuance.
@@DrinkinItIn it honestly is pretty hot, especially compared to other gins of similar class being around 40%. So it’s definitely harder to grab flavors.

Roku Gin was my first gin, but I enjoy this one too. Also 47% abv is what it is in America. I believe in Europe and Australia is lower around 40 or 43 abv.
@@protoman2260 ooo thats a nice one to start with. I love the Roku. That’s what I noticed when researching. Super interesting that they don’t keep it the same.
As famous as it is, I've still never tried Tanqueray. It seems like a solid choice for all those base cocktails ( my favorite being a negroni ). Will have to pick up a bottle and try it since the price is pretty reasonable. Thanks for the rundown!
