    Hi, i did some tests with my FS7mk2 that I recently purchased. I expose correctly at 2000EI keeping the highlights at about 90% (waveform) then I lower to 1000EI (-1 stop) or 500EI (-2) and re-expose again. I record in SGamut3.Cine but even during the day the noise on the black (zoom 400% in PremierePro) does not disappear. My lens is quite bright (Tamron 17-70 F2.8) and I am waiting for the new Laowa Argus 33mm F0.95 to arrive to try to record indoors with normal lighting (house chandelier) or at night outdoors with little ambient light. Do you think I will be able to do it with the new lens? What advice do you have for improving my recordings (day, night and indoor)? I would also like to know how I can verify that I have certainly restored -1 stop in PremierePro to my video shot at +1 stop? This is my test: ruclips.net/video/qeayfznULuY/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/wrCtJxJfpPY/видео.html Thanks

    Beautiful vibe, colour, rendering... I thought I was looking at Mamiya 645 speedboosted images, and then noticed these are Sekor SX lenses! Have you tried the 645 lenses with Kipon 0.7x booster by any chance? I was thinking of going the 645 route, but your images have me thinking maybe I'll be just as happy with the SX lenses! I just bought the BMCC 6kFF for similar reasons you went for the S1H (before the 6kFF came out), and I am loving the Mamiya lenses... my interest in the 645 Mamiyas is mainly to be able to shoot with natural light only, in low light situations.

    • @joshuadeboervisuals
      @joshuadeboervisuals 5 месяцев назад

      Thank you! I haven't tried anything above full frame yet in terms of any vintage lens, I have few medium format lenses I've acquired through bulk purchases but have yet to really try them as I haven't purchased a speedbooster and I'm honestly probably not going to. I've enjoyed the pair of full frame mamiya lenses I have and definetly rank amongst my favourite so far! Espicially the 28mm one of my favourite wide angles, it just flares really nice wide open and is decently sharp too. I do enjoy the S1H braw combo but that 6k FF is calling my name XD.

    • @ThomasBoard8
      @ThomasBoard8 5 месяцев назад

      @@joshuadeboervisuals LOL, yes the 6KFF called to me too! I just love the images, and that BRaw workflow straight from camera including proxies... well, what can I say? I really think it's a special camera. I've already got my first anamorphic lens, and got a PDMovie LiveAir Smart autofocus, so I'm drooling at the idea of adding medium format lenses with autofocus LOL! I'm actually looking into Pentax 67 system lenses too, which some medium format shooters also use on their smaller 645 system cameras (with a focal reducer!). Kipon do focal reducers that cover both 645 and 67 system lenses, and have versions that fit L mount as well as EF and PL, so plenty of options to choose between. The 67 lenses are heavier, which is one of the reasons I think the 645 lenses are seen as a sweet spot for conversion to full frame sensors. But the 67 range of lenses is broader, and prices are cheaper as the 67 camera system is getting old and hard to repair - so good for those of us on a budget!

    Thats quality, I have an Ursa12k and the Takumar 28mm, 50mm and 135mm but none of them come into focus. How did you get them sharp? The M42 adapter ring can only hold the lenses upside down, so that's probably why it can't focus. The Takumar lenses have a shallower depth of field than the Helios 44-2, for example.

    its beautiful I was wondering something, im planning to shoot a documentary, I would love to implement this lens combination and work with anamorphic, my question would be, since the 2x is squeezing the ratio pretty much, if one can: make the anamorphic effect less then the 2x ?

      And second question, is this set-up lens suitable to work on gimbal?

    • @joshuadeboervisuals
      @joshuadeboervisuals Год назад

      @@Philipianistemaurice Thank you! There is no way to make the anamorphic effect less than 2x, no such thing exsists as far as I am aware. Every lens or anamorphic adapter will have set squeeze ratios. These usually range from 1.33x to 2x and are fixed. I would not use this set up with a gimbal. It's fairly light but because it's an anamorphic adapter it requires dual focussing. You have to simaltaneously focus the anamorphic adapter element as well as the taking lens and this is tricky enough to do as is handheld. You can purchase a variable diopter to put on the front to turn the whole thing into a single focus solution but that quickly becomes cumbersome and you'd need to set up a follow focus as of course there is no auto focus. You're also limited to around 50mm lenses or tighter on a super 35 sensor which can be limiting as well. Also worth nothing I've had adapters break fairly easily and the whole setup can be fairly unreliable. It is possible but not the most ideal solution for run and gun doco work. If I were you I'd look at a proper lens set from companies like Sirui or Loawa's nanomorphs. They make pretty nice 1.5x anamorphic lenses that are cheap that cover super 35 from much wider angles than the sankor 16c can.
