I'm not sure I connected those dots exactly, but I do remember that I was pretty bad at using their different strengths overall, making stages a lot harder than they needed to be...

This game has a lot more depth than I realized to begin with. It makes perfect sense they'd build sections that requires certain characters. Maybe some day I will give it another, and hopefully better, try!

I definitely thought about using a guide, but like I said in the video I realized it would take me as long trying to find the right place in a guide as just finding the right place myself :P I kind of like that the game is build up that way, it prevents you from making it too easy for yourself but also I haven't felt like I am completely lost yet. It's a good balance. Yeah the Mantis Lords are on my mind a lot. I definitely want to give them another go soon but first I have my new cool tool to try out!

Thanks for the encouragement! The game is challenging for sure, but my real issue is trying to find opportunity to record. Between little kids, my own damn coughing and a SO who likes to play games as well it's hard to get a quiet moment that allows me to record for long enough time. But I am getting there, slowly but suredly ^^

Aw damn! Maybe I should go back and check old videos too? ^^ I do that some times actually if I get stuck to see what areas I have explored and what I might've missed. It's not a bad idea. Talk to? Hmmm, interesting… I wonder who that might be. Maybe that guy on the bench in the main hub? Also didn't you mention that you could talk to the stag beetle? I've not done that yet I think. Got some ideas there for sure.

Off the top of my head I can't recall which I found more difficult, I remember them being pretty equal. I really enjoy all the handheld-Castlevanias though (except Order of Ecclesia, now that is a difficult game).

@@JTZinnful If you haven't tried Harmony of Despair I would give that a go. It's a lot different than the others. The entire map is already on the screen for each level. You have to keep replaying the levels over again to get enough money to buy better equipment to survive. I think there's like 7 characters to choose from. But it's pretty difficult. The only bad thing is that everything is really small and can be hard to see at times. I play on Ps4 on a 60 inch tv and it's still hard to see but, it's definitely worth a playthrough.

@@jaggedpoppet3921 I haven't actually played that one since I didn't own any of the consoles at the time, but I'd love to give it a try. Nice to hear it's on the ps4, I'll check it out!

Hey, thanks for the encouragement! I actually think it's a great game, was literally thinking about it today. My trouble is that I have rare opportunity to record and at the moment I am also stuck in the sinkholes that are WoW Classic and The Witcher 3. I feel sorry for Hollow Knight, it deserves more of my attention for sure. But I haven't given up on it yet, and comments like yours definitely keep me going!

Nope not at all! Sorry for slow releases but there has just been a lot going on, teething toddlers, me getting a cold, son starting school... But I'm hoping to get back to it really soon :)

@@GamersGendutz There is nothing wrong with your English! I've never played it but I played Terraria and quite liked it. We'll see if I ever play Stardew Valley, so far nothing has really enticed me about it since it seems to be an "endless" game and I prefer games with pretty clear stories to follow. Maybe Stardew Valley has that too? I really know very little about it.

I am playing Bloodstained RoN right now and I've had another request to play it. As I am really enjoying it I can definitely see myself LPing it (although it wouldn't be blind then, but knowing how bad my memory is things usually end up being half-blind for me anyway), but my copy is on PS4 from which I don't know how to record unfortunately :/.

No worries! I also played through Bloodstained. I really enjoyed it. Maybe someday you’ll be able to LP it. I hope you’ve still been enjoying Hollow Knight

@@be7e4px Oh yeah definitely! I like the atmosphere of the game and also the physics are really good. It just feels right when you jump and swing your weapon, which is quite important a game like this.

Thank you for your comments and an even bigger thank you for encouraging me into LPing again! I've been meaning to do it for a while but hadn't gotten around to it. There were various things in the way that I needed to sort (equipment, time, find a suitable game) and I think the time was right, I just hadn't recognized it myself. Like I mentioned in the LP this'll be partially blind. I have played a few hours and completed as far as a little bit passed the second area. My guess is there is a at least twice as much left after that but I've been wrong before so we'll see. I also had only seen some screenshots of the game before playing it, and heard that it was well received, so I know very little. I guess I'll notice when the maps show up with the lady, so far I've had no luck!

Haha yeah I have the same issue when I watch older LP's. Can't believe it's been three years already though… Guess that means it is time to replay it soon!

Biggest issue was that I swapped computers which meant changing a lot of the software I used to record with and it didn't work as well. It took away a lot of the fun of recording to have to wrangle that every time. Also I had a couple of ideas for games I wanted to record but I couldn't get them to work well either (they were emulated GBC-games). It made me drop off and then I just didn't get back into it! But I was thinking just the other day that I would like to do it again so I just need to find the motivation to get started :)

JTZinn That sucks when your workflow gets interrupted. Hope you get the motivation to get all the stuff up and running.

That would make sense. I'm suspecting maybe the localization wasn't done too well.

Tenjin Cid yes exactly, and that mechanic hadn't been used anywhere else in the game up to that point (or after afaik) so no one expected it

I doubt I had the original copy, I don't think we got our first computer until I was 12 or so and that was a Mac (in1997). My BS2 is the Sold Out ed. and my BS1 most likely was too. Don't know where it is though.

Mike McDaniel it took me over an hour of trying before I remembered the tip. I did try out but it only saved time for the worst part, it didn't really make much of a difference in the end. But I will give it another shot some time I hope :-P

JTZinn I just finished out the video, I commented when I had to pause earlier. So Alucard flying didn't help with falling to your doom? Oh, man. I know now you're done with this lets play, but I hope you give some of the mobile games a play later. When Bloodstained comes out, I'd really like to see you play that. Good series. I hope it hasn't given you some traumatic fear of stairs.

Oh the handhelds, yeah I have played (and own) all on the GBA and DS. Finished all except OoE. So that leaves the GB ones right? I've heard they're silly difficult.

Every information I can find on the music speed is that it has got to do with the PAL version vs the NTSC version, and when I checked I have indeed got the PAL rom. At least now I am ^^ However, there are other reasons to avoid PAL versions of NES games so I will try to remember to look out for that for future NES LP's...
