Im designing a vacuum system in the smallest budget possible therefore many things are DIY and improvised, so I am curious about something. Can I use annealed copper tube used in refrigeration systems? I been thinking in gold plating the inside of the tube so is the thin gold layer what gets cold welded and makes the hermetic seal.

Why is the tool so ridiculous for such a simple task? Why must is be a pneumatic tool? I'm a HVAC/R technician, and I'm not about to use an air compressor, or my nitrogen, or that RIDICULOUS tool.... When I can use one of two tried and true pinch off tools. Sorry there bubs, but that tool is just silly as all hell, and serves to solve no real world problems or struggles. Good luck trying to peddle that thing
Jake... this tool is not designed for use by HVAC installation technicians or field applications. The tool is used by the refrigeration manufactures to seal the tube on their condensers in a factory environment. If you had to seal hundreds of these tubes per shift, you would not like to do this manually. Also... it is not a pinch off tool... it simply compresses the tube to temporarily seal it prior to solder or braze, and it does it without weakening the tube. It may seem "ridiculous" to you, but you're not the guy crimping tubes in a factory all day long.
Jim... I am so sorry. I didn't even think about the manufacturing process. It all makes sense now. Again, very sorry for the ignorance. Fantastic tool for assembly/manufacturing. Sometimes I speak without thinking. It has cost me a great deal in my life.

Looks very easy to use. So will this hold hydraulic brake pressure, in other words, can this be used to repair a pinched brake line?
This tool was designed to allow the customer to connect 2 pcs of brake line tubing by utilizing a "splice" tube connector. After these tubes are crimped, the are inserted inside another tube. The crimp itself does NOT provide a leak proof connection.... it's only a splice connection. So, for the purpose of repairing a pinched or resrticted brake line that needs to be sealed (leak proof), this is not the tool for that purpose.
Kindly from where i can buy the Epoxy, sealant, or the plastic cap for protecting the sharp edges of the pinched area...any supplier please...
