If you mean the white thing, it's borax , some people call it also flux ...

In that particular video I use silver solder with borax core ! But there is also a different way to solder with silver solder and borax separately like I did in this video: ruclips.net/video/JfXSv7yZXW4/видео.html

To release the spring from the "spring box," you need to drill a hole to free the mechanism. Drilling it into pieces is not a practical solution. Using a "screw drilling tool," turn it slightly clockwise, then unscrew to remove the metal filings. Repeat the process by turning more clockwise, slowly and carefully, to form the threads.

Hi, thank you for your questions. First of all, you can buy spring arms simply by googling "spring hinge repair eyeglasses." You'll find several websites that sell them, such as eBay and Aliexpress. As for the size, there are no markings or specific tools to measure them! What did I do? I bought several, fixed dozens of pairs, and now, with experience, I can closely choose the right one just by looking at it. The same applies to non-spring hinges! It's great you mentioned it- I might make a video explaining this! I understand it’s difficult to find the perfect flex spring for your glasses just by looking at pictures; you really need to have them in hand.

Yes, I'm aware of the focus issue, but at the moment I'm recording with my phone (Pixel 6) and shooting without proper gear in situations that require zooming to 300% is really difficult. Unfortunately, the equipment I need is out of my budget right now. However, I promise to keep improving with each video, even if it's just a little bit! Hello there!

No, you need to polish first, then electroplate. I used a solution of white vinegar and salt, and placed pure nickel on both the anode and cathode for a few hours. It's nickel, not silver. Now you know! 😉

If you search for 'Flex Shaft,' you'll find many different brands and price ranges.

In this video, I use a thin silver solder. These are unbranded, and most suppliers carry something similar. If you search for 'Eyeglasses welding wire,' you'll find many results, and they're all pretty much the same. Just remember, in these situations, you need to use flux first for the bond to form between the metals! In some of my other videos, I use a solder called Pallarium Solder, which doesn’t require flux since it already has it in the core of the solder stick.
