I bought a new. tripod since I was in Barstow. Unfortunately, I then broke my leg and will be out of commission for a while. Some days I am able to hold the camera quite steady, Other days not so much. Also the tripod I had on that trip was very cheap so even with it, I got some jerking and accidentally panning up, down, sideways, etc. Still, thank you for the comment. I appreciate it VERY MUCH.

Thanks. Yes, the Blue Line and the Green line follow the same track and make the same stops between Santa Fe Depot and Old Town. At Old Town the Blue Line heads north next to the Coaster/Amtrak tracks instead of turning east to the Morena Blvd. stop.

AGREED! The NIMBYs' excuse for QZ's is their dumb, huge, manufactured housing tracts which no one can afford being next to the tracks... You guys built it there and the train was there first!! Not sure why the Coaster decides to succumb to the fate of the NIMBYs but it's sad that soon places like Carlsbad and Encinitas as we know them will be gone.

@@F59PHI I’ve protesting against the quiet zones in my videos. Starting in December of 2022. The # Shave and a Haircut, Two Bits!!! anti QZ movement started and I got the Coaster and Amtrak crews to go crazy as they wanted with their horns to say no to the quiet zones as I do to.

I saw a video from the East Coast where the author was saying that a town had an ordinance forbidding train horns. Now, it did say that the train must use its bells, but I still wonder just how safe that it. We like the the resonance and the patterns of blowing horns and so forth, but they're not there (just) for our entertainment. I can see how people with busy tracks just out their back doors might have a problem with being woken up at the crack of dawn or at midnight, but isn't that better than someone - especially a young child - getting killed? When I was 14 I visited an aunt in Wisconsin who had the Soo Line going through her backyard with crossings on both sides. I went out to watch the trains pass and almost jumped on to the tracks from being startled once when an engineer, possible concerned about how close I was, but probably just because of the upcoming crossing (I'm not sure how far it was), blew his horn when he was right in front of me. Of course, I exaggerate about jumping onto the tracks, but it is the cartoonish image that fixed itself into my brain even then. Still, I wouldn't have traded that for anything. I wish I had had a camcorder on that entire trip. Between the awesome midwest thunderstorms and the trains, and many other sights that were new to this San Diego kid, I would have been in heaven with a camcorder.
