Should I write all goals or only end goal? and for find the end goal I've should ask in the nterview what can be the solution for you to the interviewer?
Thank you ✨ simple and clear instructions
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
0:45 you just hook me here, but like what others you did not elaborate where that user persona came from? is it your own thoughts or someone's magical mind that turns into a persona or its just a random thought that comes to your mind? i dont get it T_T, i have skills in developing websites but this is soo required in this field and i want to learn it badly or else im going to work as a serving crew at mcdonalds T_T.
It shouldn't be random. Good personas are evidence-based and should have been formed through qualitative research.. but in the beginning it can be "magically created" through your mind and your teammates' thoughts.. but just make sure that you validate whatever you thought of together at some point, and make those personas data-driven :)
wow po!

Figma or Adobe XD?
Figma 😄
Oh! Nice but, my front end developer doesn't recommend me to use figma for UX/UI design. Well maybe it depends right?
@@AlexisColladoUX why figma and not adobe XD? 🤔
@@cyberkuya321 mas malaki yung community ng Figma, and personally, the features are better overall. They're the first tool to introduce collaboration. But of course, you're limited din to your organization, especially if they've invested in XD instead.. I've tried both but I like Figma more :)

what possible college course can I take to be a UI/UX designer?
Any course is fine but of course you'll have an edge if you take technology related courses. I think a computer science degree is pretty good!
Hi Alexis! New fan here👋 Just wanna say I am beyond grateful for all the insightful videos you make. As someone who is considering switching career path to UX/Product Design, your in-depth knowledge and generosity of sharing really helped and motivated me! Thank you!! ❤️✨
Aww, that's sweet of you, you're welcome Louie! Welcome to the world of UX and Product Design! :)
+1 on always work on your fundamentals! In UX design, you have an ultimate goal, and that’s to derisk your solution to a problem. When a user rides along the experience you created, it’s more than just the usefulness and accessibility of a product; part of reaching that goal is going through the product, visually-aesthetics has it’s own set of problems to solve. After all, the visual design of a product is what the user sees first, it’s how we communicate our solution to the user. If that part failed already, then say goodbye to a good user experience. Thank you so much, Alexis! I love learning from you!
thanks from Indonesia dude
You’re welcome!! Regards from Manila 😊
"Design is involved in discovering the problem, defining the problem, figuring out which opportunities to take, being involved in product discovery, iterating towards building and shipping and measuring things that you design... There's so much more to design than just creating UI." So true! An environment that cares about the full scope of design is a huge part of what shapes a new designer for success. People definitely don't consider it enough when they take on roles in the industry. Thank you for the tips, Alexis! (and nice hoodie!)
+1 on finding great companies to work in and learn from! Most of the skills I picked up, I learned from awesome design mentors (like Alexis 😉) while working in product companies.
“You’re not just designing mockups, you’re contributing to understanding which opportunities to take for the product team.” (1:35) Still have so much to learn about product design, so this was very timely! Thanks for sharing, Alexis 🤗
I agree 100%. Designers with subpar visual design skills is a no for me. As a designer, you need to have good visual design skills and a basic understanding of hierarchy, contrast, typography etc. Without that skill, it’s very hard to design great products.
best persona video hands down
Thank you!
To the point...and very much helpful...Thank you 😀
Some very nice tips. When choosing a startup, I would look at their mission, the problem and does it align with your own beliefs. This will help as it can get tough when wearing different hats and establishing a culture. Currently at the startup I work with, we have approached design changes by using analytics as we need to do A/B testing.
Nice tips, so important to intro yourself
Thanks for sharing! :)
Go Alexis!!! All the best with Swarm :) Congrats on the launch!
Hello, I am a psych major right now and I want to indulge in this career, is it possible?
Yes! UX borrows a lot from cognitive psychology and if I could I would take psychology too if I was doing UX as a career ✨
Thank you for this!
Oh just wanna ask what was your undergraduate degree back then?
@@steveaves4635 management information systems! But UX isn’t really a part of that haha
@@AlexisColladoUX Hi po! I got to know your channel from my teacher in senior high school. I just want to ask if your course is the same as the information systems course. Second question, you suggested in one of your replies here that computer science would be a pretty good course to take. I am actually an incoming freshman student with the course computer science. For the past months of contemplating, I feel like cs course is way different because it is more on programming (I think, so far from my research about it) and doesn't tackle that much related to ux, I would like to ask too what made you think cs could be an option. Hoping you could answer! Thank you so much 🙂
Thank you Alexis for always sharing your knowlege...God bless you always🥰🥰🥰
I love the concept of learning like an athlete! 💕 I was wondering - how do you pick which startup to join/ what is your thought process like when considering an early stage startup?
Thank you for this, Alexis! 💖 The first point really resonated with me, the fact that being a designer in an early stage startup is not really about what you specialize as a designer but it’s actually being able to adapt to the needs of the startup when it comes to design at the time being. We gotta love a jack-of-all-trades designer, a generalist one like you’ve mentioned! Can’t wait to learn more from your journey, Alexis! 🔥
