I think Ckay was just an artiste that went global too fast and so sudden which he was either not ready or prepared for and had to start struggling to meet up with his sudden global success

I totally agree with you. Boyfriend is the best project from Ckay. I feel like he got lazy with emotions cause I believe he can honestly do better than what he did on that album. He is a great artiste but these days, I'm not seeing that. He needs to go back to his roots (original sound). Thanks for your honest review

CKay's best work remains Sad Romance. Boyfriend EP was beautiful, but man topped it up with Sad Romance. Emotions was really good, but it doesn't compare to the aforementioned.

Sad romance was beautiful to me but the latest “emotions” isn’t my cup of tea to be honest. Although I love a few tracks in the album. Listened to the album once and that was it. But maybe I may love it with time. Would probably listen again. I listened to love nwantiti in the EP Ckay the first back in 2019 way before it became popular, was shocked when it went viral.

Ckay is doing every good

I actually enjoy Ckay’s progression with his music. Although he may push the amapiano style in his recent and current releases, I feel the amapiano aspect adds a beautiful contrast to his vocals and makes them hit harder. I’m excited for his Emotions album to drop. We gotta start learning as a community of people that love not just music but African music that progression means change and change can sometimes be amazing for an artist. I think Ckay is heading in a pretty good direction with his music.

The problem is that too many artists are stuck on having to make songs with the "Afrobeats" sound. This stifles creativity.
