WE ARE MAKERS
Великобритания
Добавлен 23 июл 2020
We Are Makers is an independent magazine run by Kate and Jack Lennie which showcases a wide array of wonderful, dedicated, and talented makers from across the globe. We want to share their stories, their passions and to connect them with you and each other.
Kate and Jack have created a place to share experiences, journeys and ambitions; a network where conversations and collaborations between crafts and trades can begin. We Are Makers is an opportunity to overcome the frustrations and loneliness of the independent craftsperson. By uniting makers, it channels that contagious joy of being surrounded by people who love what they do.
On this channel, you will find our podcasts, which we have created to help further champion the modern maker and allow you to learn more about these independent businesses. All our podcasts will be via video, so you can join us within the maker's workspace

Clunie Fretton: Master Carver, Sculptor, and Gilder in London | WAMCAST #0099
In November, Jack visited the Cockpit Studios open day in London, where he had the privilege of meeting master carver Clunie Fretton. After an inspiring conversation, Jack had to ask if she’d be interested in joining us for a podcast-and thankfully, she said yes!
Through our conversation, it became clear that Clunie is not just a master carver, but also a historian and true custodian of her craft. Although she doesn’t always give herself enough credit for these roles, her accomplishments speak volumes.
Clunie’s work has earned her recognition at the highest levels within her field. While she may not have the massive following of social media influencers, she commands deep respect in the wor...

Completely uninformative, not one instrument played, just the old touchy-feely, when people want substance and solid information. Stop glorifying yourselves.
@@FlipDahlenburg this conversation was very informative. He wasn't on our podcast to play an instrument. Sorry you didnt enjoy the conversation 🤷🏻♀️
Just the type of channel I need, thanks for the great content guys🇿🇦
You are welcome! Thank you for watching - glad to hear you are enjoying our content! - Kate & Jack
That’s 100% true - I own several Hooligans… and Tim always strives for perfection.
Is it really that noisy?
So cool to see this! I made a bow with Stefan in 2017 and till this day i use that bow from time to time. Made some bows my own since then. Great interview guys!
That's awesome! Thank you so much for listening, delighted you enjoyed our conversation 🙏🏻🌟
Great talk, grennan mill changed my life too!

Do you have an online automaton course?
This was so good to listen to as he was so open with how it all happens and the highs and lows.
We are so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for leaving feedback 🙌🏻❤️
Wow, what a great story! Love this.
Thanks Nicole! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏻✨
Good man Kurtis. For for the record I dont sound like that 👀
What a fantastic interview!! Small shop Luthiers are a key component to the entire guitar industry. Love the format of these talks, and the organic flow of the conversation is a joy to listen to.
Thank you so much for leaving such a kind comment! We are delighted you enjoyed this conversation! 🤗 we really enjoyed talking to Kurtis ✨
YES FINALLY 👌👌 Edit: I knew Avalon said I was better 😅😂😂
I can so relate to when you were talking about how hard it is to make a go of something when you’re already really far down a path in your life, ie. family and mortgage before you start pursuing a craft. That’s where I am at. I have to much ‘overhead’ in life to just gamble with quitting everything to solely pursue what I am passionate about. I sneak in what time I can and it’s really slowly growing.
Level 8 is a bachelors degree 👍
Just came across this. I came across Greg's business through Carl Murawskis YT channel I my first purchase with their collab. My second jacket just came in a couple weeks ago that was made by Toni there. Wish Greg the best and further future success.
Amazing! Hope you enjoyed listening to his story 🙌🏻🙏🏻
Wonderful craftsmanship and story! Congratulations!
Does anyone know the software he is using at 3:25?
Sorry for the late reply, I used Topaz Image Upscaler and 4K resolution to see what software it is. The software your looking for is called Gear Template Generator
@@rizzy.swordsman What about the one at 3:35? Looks like it has a lot more than the Gear Template Generator. Thanks for the reply.
@mustardchips7419 I'm sorry man, I tried to upscale the quality to see if I can see the software but it's too blurry.
Looks like LibreCAD
Loved everything. Feel so inspired.
Visited Marchmont today to see the various crafts people at work. Great to see Sam and Richard in their furniture making workshop. Already have one of their rush seated chairs. Such a likeable and enthusiastic pair of craftsmen it was a joy to see their new designs and to have a chat.
Inspirational!
Hallo there! I love the content and the publication has been a joy to read. I'm not trying to be negative but the audio on the video here is a bit patchy compared to your others on this platform as well as the Spotify version of this interview. not sure what can be done to improve it? Really enjoying their story so far and can't wait to finish listening. As always looking forward to future content, thanks a mill'
Hey Adam! No your absolutely right! We had to play about alittle with this audio, so will fix it and reupload this podcast - we appreciate your feedback!! Thank you for taking the time to give it 🙏🏻

A hugely inspiring conversation - David is the man of the future!
Thank you for listening! We really enjoyed this conversation too!
Jack and Kate🙏👏Whenever I question what I'm doing studying Gold and Silversmithing at 53yo I watch an episode of yours to keep on track. This one was a cracka because that sound of tinkering David heard and followed that day is a very familiar story. Something that you love so much you can't ignore. Such a great interview wonderful and honest and yes metal is just amazing. Anyway thank you again. Keep going. !!!Thanks to David too.
Thank you for such a lovely comment! We really appreciate it. We are so delighted you enjoy our podcast and get a lot from them. We will keep them coming!!
Really great. What a delight. Thanks for coming to Melbs.
I can’t wait to get my jacket
❤❤❤❤
I wanted to watch this because I love seeing people make things but didn't think this particular craft would interest me. Within 30 seconds, this changed to 'this is AMAZING, I want one!' Well done Oliver, and well done WAM for a brilliant documentary.
What a wonderful little documentary. I enjoyed watching Sam's work and gaining an understanding of why she does it. She comes across as a lovely person.
Thank you Laura! 🙏😊
Really well done documentary and fascinating artist.
Awesome

Beautifully done. Thank you.

Enjoyed this film and as a textile designer who started making many wobbly willow baskets, I appreciate Sam's craft and how tricky it can be to survive! So inspiring. Well done! Thanks.
Thank you Susanne 🙏
