Deep Sky Workflows
США
Добавлен 15 апр 2021
This channel is devoted to the hobby of astrophotography. You will find tours of deep sky objects like nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters along with lunar images, craters, planets, and comets. I also share how I configure my equipment to achieve backfocus, balance my scope, plan my sessions, track targets like comets, and use tools like AstroPixel Processor, AstroSurface, Nighttime Imaging N' Astronomy (N.I.N.A.), PixInsight and SharpCap to capture and process images.
My scopes: Stellina, Svbony sv503 70ED doublet refractor (420mm f/6), Celestron 9.25" EdgeHD Schmidt Cassegrain (2350mm f/10)
My cameras: Sony Alpha 6300, ZWO ASI120MM-S, QHY5III462C, ZWO ASI294MC Pro
My mounts: Celestron CGEM-II, Sky Watcher Star Adventurer Mini (S.A.M.) and GTi

Introducing the 2025 Oregon Coast Astrophotography Calendar
Explore the surface of the sun. Visit vast interstellar pillars of star creation. Ride the tail of a comet. Watch the edge of our galaxy rise over the iconic Yaquina Bay Bridge. This A4-size top-hanging calendar will take you on a year-long journey through the cosmos captured on and from Oregon's rugged coast. It includes key moon phases, full moon names, and dates of meteor showers, eclipses, and planetary events. Each month features a full, unobstructed image and description.

I happened to be recording the surface of the sun when one of the sunspots exploded. The video compresses 60 minutes into 15 seconds.
Thing Trails

Most of us have seen and even photographed star trails. But what happens when you make the stars stand still, and let the landscape move instead? I call these, "thing" trails.
Northern lights in Lincoln City Oregon full night uncut

The night of May 10th 2024 we experienced a massive geomagnetic storm, estimated by some to be one of the top three in recorded history. A massive pair of corneal mass ejections (CMEs) combined and slammed into the earth head on, pushing the magnetic ring so far south that the KP index hit 9 in Oregon. This video is all 822 frames I captured that evening in sequential order.

A timelapse of the evening of May 10th / morning of May 11th 2024 after mega-sunspot AR3664 sent a massive x-flare (solar flare) that created a magnetic storm reaching far into the southern latitudes.

This is the full timelapse from all of my cameras during the eclipse, including my filtered Sony camera and the hydrogen alpha solar scope. Shot from Hot Springs, Arkansas.
One Horse, Two Rocks

Join me on a magical journey from Otter Rock to outer space. Starting at a 20mm focal length, we zoom into the constellation Orion as it sets over Gull Rock. See the jewels on Orion's belt, catch the flame and see just how smoky that horse head is at a 6,000mm (6 meter) focal length. A moving art piece that integrates five images from my collection.

The moon. The Milky Way. The Rho Ophiuchi complex. So many targets, and just one night. In this video, I share the experience of watching the sun, moon, and Orion nebula constellation set to be replaced by the beautiful expanse of stars and the Scorpion nebulae which hides a complex and rare nebula. #astrophotography #milkyway #moon #moonlight #pnw #oregon #oregoncoast #coast
Total Solar Eclipse 2024

I planned over a year for this total solar eclipse. I dragged gear across the country and watched the forecast predict thunderstorms as the day drew near. The experience itself was unforgettable. Here is my story about, and my photographs of, the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Taken on location in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Nice job my friend
Awesome, thanks for sharing!! 🌒
Amazing video, thanks for sharing it. There are not many videos on the SAM. I use it only during Winter, so it is great to have this and do a quick refresh of the whole process.
awesome, just bought SAM....
Brilliant tutorial. Thanks.
Lame
I've been waiting for someone to post the eclipse! Good job!
First! [Pin this] Me eating a pie of pizza.
does anybody know, if I can buy this somewhere second hand at a reasonable price. I really think it will help me get better astrophotos, but unfortunately I cannot afford a new one!
How did Comet is more bright than Hamal ? Please answer
Oh no
very nice editing and explanation, thanks.
Great video ! Thank you 😊
Wonderful work..... Truly amazing
Beautiful! Awesome Creator! Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely brilliant. Thanks!
My mini, only 3 weeks old, has developed a problem. It wont power up via the batterys. It shuts down after 1 second. Also the batterys get hot after a 20 mins of been in the unit. It works fine via the usb port. It had been working fine up until today. Any ideas?
Had the same problem. My UK retailer arranged with the UK distributor to collect the SAM and it was replaced free of charge. New one works fine.
@@Ploverman Same. My unit was replaced with a new one.
Good stuff! Jackie and I just watched it during our pizza dinner. I'm forwarding the link to my sister.
Beautiful work, Jeremy!
Very cool! Thank you for sharing
I am often in awe of nature. It doesn't ever get old. Thanks for sharing! Great waves! Like the music you added too, but those unedited wave sounds are perfect too and so relaxing.
Hi could you make a video on how to install a star adventurer mini console? I am having trouble installing it
Which camera uses ZWO and telescope?
Graphics block text. Needs a redo to be understood!
It reminds me of STS-107 😢😭
Very clever. Love it
Hello Jeremy, This is a great piece of work and I love the fact you can see how busy our sky is. Can you explain what would typically turn direction in midflight? Between 32 seconds and 33 seconds their is somthing showing a skipping like trail.
Was I supposed to feel leaps and bounds better about myself after watching that? I mean. I am a freaking STUD right now....
Really good content, thank you. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to reduce or eliminate the moving screen animations. It is distracting and not needed for this type of content I don't think Thanks again,
Wow! Very courageous hike. Beautiful shots of the Milky Way 👍🏼👍🏼.
underrated video
Wow! Amazing view!!

Excellent job editing this video. You must be a pro! Loved the music also.
Nice video. Did you try to bin RGB?
I live here. Very cool video
Very interesting technique. Its amazing the detail available in JPEGs. I will try this
Very cool. I'm a planetary imager and found this video compelling. I too am concerned that Registax is old. There is a new version. I have been using Astrosurface for my planetary processing. It will be wonderful if we can bring the power of PixInsight to planetary image processing. I look forward to more videos from you. Thanks
Glad to see that you went out to see This. It’s beautiful.
wow bro outstanding!!! loved it
Very nice and complete video. I wonder about the use of the compass. Do you not get any deviation caused by the metal in the mount? Generally it is a problem. I also like to use a digital inclinometer to adjust the latitude correctly. Thanks and regards
05:20 interesting methodology...remove the stars THEN stack the comet aligned images. will have to check it out. no doubthe trails were killing me in post
I was hesitant about buying S.A.M, but I just saw the rult with your image, and wow!! definitely I´ll buy it. Thanks for you video, hope to see more about S.A.M- Cheers from Mexico!!
Hope you enjoy it!
🙋 *Promo SM*
Really, waiting to see. Maybe will buy a telescope to view better. Thanks
thank you very much for that tutorial, you save me !
Great Video....How did you add the filter LPro into the picture files?
Do you mean how did I get it into the filename?
thanks for the video a lot clear right now, may i ask if you know the polar lens model no. Is? Somehow i got a 2nd hand mini come with most of the stuff except the polar lens, from the user manual it didnt tell which model it is and official website seems got a few model to choose, hope you can shed me the light as I seems stuck on this part, or is it possible i use ig without the polar lens? Thanks for reading, appreciate!
What kit did you use for the widefield and what bortle? You got way more definition in the tails than me. I didn't acclimatize my camera though and it was like -30 so I think my focus shifted a lot. Like the videos I subbed, keep them coming!
Bortle 6. Svbony sv503 70ED 336mm f/4.8.
Is that the comet that comes near Earth every 50,000 years?
Yes!
