Sawmill Creek ATV ride and Camping

Hi folks welcome, This is an solo ATV & Camping trip from Hillsborough to Sawmill Creek NB, Canada. I get to see a few new nice spots along the way to my camping spot and decided to set up at one of them. I get to have a few cold drinks, cook a big burger over an outdoor fire, and finished it all off with breakfast in the morning before heading out.
My 2021 grizzly se has the same cracking in the same locations as yours. I believe it’s from me getting on and off the atv. I’m 200lbs and with steel toe boots I think I cracked them. Junk imo. Did these Ricochet skids stiffen the floorboards up? Ie with the crack do your floorboards not flex at the crack now?
@northerntoyota7584 Yeah there, thanks for the question. Yes, I believe the same. most of the damage comes from getting on and off. With very little support, they flex lots, causing them to crack. I did replace one footwell, then put on the Ricochet floor boards afterward and have had no cracks in the new one two years later. Yes, it supports the OEM footwells so they don't flex when getting on and off.
Great video! Just bought my skids from Perfex for my 2015 Brute Force 750. They make them for other model quads as well. They are tough and pretty amazing! 🤙
I know this is pretty old but I'm installing the same setup now, does your barkers exhaust flop around and bang off the shock with your spacer bushing installed like that?
Hi there. Thanks for the question. Yes, unfortunately, I couldn't use the big spacer they provided and used a couple of smaller ones that I had in the shop, so the clamp would be tight around the muffler, and that helped. It still moved a slight amount, but nothing like it was with the provided spacers.
@longshotadventures763 I was able to put the exhaust band around exhaust, put bolt through both holes, then spacer bushing on bolt and thread it to the frame. Tightened it down and it's rock solid and spaced away from the shock with plenty of clearance. They may have sent me a different spacer bushing but it looked similar to the one in your video. Thanks for responding.
Great video...
Glad you enjoyed it
how did it change the ride compared to stock A The same B Little bit stiffer C A lot stiffer
Hi there, thanks for the question. I would say B. I did have to drop my adjustment on my back shocks down one notch. I didn't notice any difference in the front.
@@longshotadventures763 thx
Hey man ! Nice camping video, you are giving me the itch to get out ! haha Nice set up, we have a lot of the same things. Good tip with cleaning the stove pipe, I do the same. Burgers and breakfast all looked great. Funny you forgot the wraps, I almost always forget one or two things on my trips haha Cheers !
Hey, thanks for the positive feedback. Yes, I've seen quite a few of your videos, and we have a lot of the same things. Must be a "maritimer" thing, lol I feel you about getting the itch to get out there again. I just missed out on heading to crooked Creek last weekend because of the weather. One thing you can count on is that you can't count on the weather, lol Take care and be safe
Hey man ! I saw your sticker at Norms Camp and thought I'd check out a fellow NB youtuber ! Nice video, I know where you were at, really nice area, you should go check out Memel Falls next time. (I can direct you or drop a Pin on Google/Polaris Ride command if you'd like) Nice set up with the Pomoly tent and G-Stove, I have one too, great quality stove. I also love the handles and how you can get the pan up off the heat if you want. Looked like a good trip, I'm looking forward to checking out some more videos. Cheers !
Hey, thanks for the comments. Yeah, sure, I'd be interested in the spot you mentioned at memel Falls. Send me a polaris pin or directions which is ever easier for you. I do know the entrance on the trail at the fork where you can walk in to see them right off the main trail but never noticed a good spot to set up so that would be great. Maybe I'll see you on the trail sometime. Take care and be safe
Your front plates are upside down buddie!!!!lol
Hi there, thanks for the comment. Good eye. So you are partly right. The "new" ones they have out for this year's model now. Only have one front bracket, and yes, they do point down. But the model I have here for the 2021 grizzly goes upwards. Believe me, I did try it the other way, figuring the instructions were wrong. But it only fits one way, which is upwards as per the instructions.
Hi there, thank you for the question. From start to finish, "beer" not included, lol. I would set 3 to 4 hours aside if it's your first time. I've taken it off and put it on 3 times so far and takes me around 2 hours now.
how long did this take you start to finish?
Still no problems and happy with everything?
Hi there.. Yes, after 3 seasons of running these mods, everything is still working great.. and very happy with the improvements they made.. thanks for the question
Thanks for the video. Those Yamaha OEM footwells are junk had a small dried branch demolish one of my footwells. Watched your video and just ordered the plates from Ricochet.
Hey there. Thank you for the positive feedback. I'm glad my video helped. Ricochet makes great protectors for the footwells mine have held up great. Hopefully, their hardware is better now, lol
nice skid plate . looks well made !
Yes, I'd have to agree 👍.. It has taken a few lickens and keeps on ticken
I remember 1 trip where my buddy got a little water in the engine through his airbox ? probably give er a few oil changes after that trip !
Well, that sounds like it was a 3/4 to full throttle trip, lol.. hopefully, your buddies engine was ok in the end.
Liking your videos, can you tell me where you got the windshield and the mirrors for your grizzly. I really like them both! Thank you.
Hey there, thanks for the positive feedback 😀. The windshield is OEM right from the Yamaha dealer. As far as the mirrors, they are Moose brand from FortNine.ca. Take care and stay safe.
I'll be going out soon. see my vids
good day. thanks for the good explanation. I have a question. where did you buy the mirrors. or what is the brand of the mirrors. Thanks in advance from the Netherlands
Hi there. Thanks for the comment and question.. the mirrors are "Moose" brand and I bought them from "FortNine.ca" they were running about $60 each last year..
Great video, great tips and hints, thanks
Hey found your sticker at a atv shelter good to see people putting up content where are u contacted
Hey there, glad to see someone has seen one lol, im running out of Dieppe, I drive mosty in Salisbury and Hillsborough but you can see me about anywhere in the province , what shelter did you happen to see it at?
Sackville nb
where i can buy this?
Hi there. I bought mine straight from the yamaha website and was delivered right to my door. Thanks for the comment.
a friend of mine sent me your link. that 1st stop, we were there in torrential rain in May 2021 when we stayed at Broadleaf Guess ranch. Awesome video. you gained a new sub. 👍
Awesome thanks for the comment.. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.. thanks for sub too 👍👌
Good job and they look great 👍. Where are you located? When I need some work/maintenance done I'll bring my machine over and I'll bring the beer! 😜🍻
I'm in Dieppe, New Brunswick.. Bring your machine on over, we'll get it purring in no time.. lol.. and yes bring 🍺 🍻
You are on the Memel Road. That is the trail to Memel Falls. Landowner put up no trespassing signs numerous times and people just ignore them or tear them down.
Hi there.. thank you for the heads-up about the no trespassing.. it's terrible that people disrespect peoples wishes and land.. I will make sure to let others I know about it as well
Great video bud, very helpful! I plan on doing the same mods to my grizzly and now I'm pretty confident I can do them myself. Thanks!
Hi there .. so happy my video helped.. take your time, related back to the video if you get stuck along the way.. you'll have it installed in no time.
Great video. I fell in love with winter camping last year. I also embrace technology. Why not!! Cheers.
Hey thanks for the comment.. yes technologically is everywhere around us.. why not use it..
Just discovered your channel. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing. I am a Leafs fan. :)
Hey glad you enjoyed the video.. always happy to see a fellow leafs fan.. ill be posting a new camping video soon.. thanks and take care
LOL...you look a little parched!...time for a beverage! Great video bud..thanks for taking the time to set up and share! Are you on Instagram?
Lol.. im always a little "parched". No not on Instagram yet but it's a good idea.. will look into it soon.. Thanks for taking the time to watch..
Love your camping vids, bud...keep em' coming!
Hey thanks alot.. actually will be going out this weekend so look for a new video in the next week or so
good run
I agree 100% with your assessment! Just installed these in my 2022 Kodiak yesterday and I had to go to the hardware store for 6mm (40 & 45 length” hex bolts as the hardware is very side and stripped!
Yes the hardware is just fair but I am happy to say the plates themselves are holding up very well
Great job! Cheers from Mexico
Hey thanks for the comment all the way from Mexico 🇲🇽 😀
send it ! Lol
3/4 To full throttle lol
Hi my name is Leroy have you seen a arm protector from ricochet a arm full skid plate
Hi Leroy. No I haven't seen them.. But I'm running a set of their armored floor board skid plates and so far I'm impressed..check out my video of the installation. Thanks for the comment
you should do a review of your upgrades and how it improved performance . I heard something about wheelie on demand ..lol
Great idea Yamafanatic. I'll make sure to do a video of that soon to post
Looks like you had a great trip.
Great job! Keep up the great work!
Hey thanks for the comment.. glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video- new friend here
Hey there.. glad you enjoyed it 😊
@@longshotadventures763 my pleasure
Hey my friend nice ATV what do you run those zillas at what pressure
Hi there.. thanks for the comment.. I run them at 4-5psi all year.. hope that helps
Was that 45 my friend thanks
Nope 5 psi.. is what is recommended for the 2021 grizzly 700 EPS SE running Zillas Thanks.
Ok never really looked that close to my tires will check pressure thanks again
show us when you set off your firecrackers to scare the bears/coyotes next time
You mean the bear bangers.. yep I'll remember that for next time.. hopefully I'll be able to get the coyotes chirping on video too.
can you do a video on your light bar install, did you use the OEM pig tail?
Hi there. Yeah I can do one in the future of my light bar install for sure.. and no I actually spliced into the high beam in my wiring harness as I didn't want to be trying to find a separate switch all the time. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the video! My XTR will be coming in March so I'm left to watch videos until it's here. One strong suggesting is to remove each bolt and use some anti seize on them. That was strongly recommended to me when I did the Skid Plates on my LTZ400. That area under the quad always being wet and dirty, makes it a good idea.
Hi there thanks for the comment and tip. I will do that for sure 👍.. yes it's always painful waiting for a new ride to come in. Your XTR is a very sharp 👌 looking side by side.. im sure you're going to really like it
why is your bike so dirty ? lol
I know.. I should have at least got it detailed before making a video.. I'll try better next time lol
