Designated Coder
США
Добавлен 10 ноя 2020
This channel is dedicated to all things web development with a focus on Laravel at an intermediate level. As I learn, I share. Pay it forward.
To reach me, send me a comment or an e-mail and I'll try to help wherever I'm able. I reply to all of them during the week and I don't respond on the weekends. As of now, I respond to all of them but please be patient for my response.
Please understand that I've not only done the work but have explained to you how I've done it. If you run into issues, the best thing to do first is try to troubleshoot it yourself and see if there are Google searches to guide you. I guarantee at least one person on the internet has run into a very similar problem and have posted possible solutions
Good luck!

1) Why the watermark? 2) Why the watermark so bright?
Hey there @iam.masoudsamimi. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎 1) to protect my channel that I work hard on. 2) I'm not sure if I was experimenting with opacity at the time as this vid was made over a year ago. I've tried to lessen the strength over time to be something more easily ignored. Hope this helps and lots of luck to you.
Hey! Pretty solid explanation! Nice job!
Hey there @pablojansen3410. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎
If some one havingthe problem with process.env.MIX_SIC_KEY thing is, newer version of VUE 3 are using Vite instead of mixins. So! ... You just need to change name of key to VITE_STRIPE_KEY and callit like this: await loadStripe(import.meta.env.VITE_STRIPE_KEY); Test it with ultimate power spell: console.log(import.meta.env.VITE_STRIPE_KEY);
👍
Thanks for the video!

hi..you are an awesome teacher.....🙂..I have request to make a video about on Laravel + React.js with Inertia using AdminLTE 3.....plz
Hey there @miltonchowdhury4016. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎 I get a ton of requests to use react in a project but I haven't gotten around to sitting down and learning it yet. It is on my list but I can't give you a timeline on it yet.
Hi, ive created the exact same thing in the past using the same tech for peronal projects and just learing in general. Ive deployed fake ecommerce shops and everything functions well with testing. My question is how well will this stack hold up with alot of users on a live site.
Hey there @ZickPranks. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎 That's a great question. Laravel itself is only a tool to scaffold a project. To put anything in production, there are things I try to do to optimize the experience. 1) I try to make sure it's optimized in terms of DRY(Don't Repeat Yourself) 2) Depending on which hosting provider you use consider load balancing as your project starts to grow 3) Use caching when appropriate to make it a better experience for users There's a ton of stuff to consider but Laravel is more than capable of handling loads of traffic. You should search the web for websites built with Laravel, or something along those lines to see it in action. There's loads of them. Hope this helps and good luck to you.

Thank you, I learned a lot from this video. I don't know if you could do some tutorials to handle Moonshine, which is similar to Filament.
Hey there @fvs132. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎 I'm currently working on an admin panel series so won't be doing one for awhile. Moonshine looks interesting. I'll add it to the list but I can't give you a timeline on it as I have a load of projects that I'll be working on. It looks a lot like Orchid which is on my list too. Do you know if it's the same developers?
I don't think they have the same developers. I think Moonshine is more of a Russian project.
Yeah, I think Orchid is also a Russian project. I started working on that one a while back but haven't brought it to a point where I could demo it. I had issues with how they were caching so I moved onto something else. Moonshine looks good though. I'll definitely add it to the list.
could you list cdn links here ?

Like object.prop do ce from p of the prop and it will pop you in insert mode with prop being removed already and new objects property ready to be entered. how to change topbar background color?
Hey there @relaxyourdays. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎 It's been about 2 years since I've used Filament and so not sure I'd be the best help with this. The new Filament docs have a color that doesn't agree with my eyesight and even though I've changed it, it's hard for me to read. If it's just the topbar you want to change I believe you can publish the Filament blade files and can find that component to change it to whatever you want. You will have to look either from the terminal or in the docs to find the command for that. With packages it's as easy as php artisan vendor:publish and you get a list of all available configs you can publish. Your mileage may vary and worse come to worse you can always reach out to the Filament team for a better solution. Hope this helps and good luck to you!

@@DesignatedCoder Thank you for selflessly sharing your knowledge and experience. You have a very pleasant voice. I enjoy listening to you and watching you work. Keep up with great work. <3
Hey there, @kosticnemanja1914! That's kind of you. Thanks
Your videos make everything easier; I spent a lot of time with the laravel sail. I did run the Laravel Sail application, but I failed to push the image, then pull to the client's local machine and run the project. My intention is to secure the Laravel project folder directly from the client system, like in traditional localhost installation, where I use XAMPP and any one can copy the folder from htdocs. To prevent that, I tried my development using Docker. I did that, but in the phase that the developed Docker image pushed to Docker Hub and pulled, then ran failed with the MySQL connection. Can you do a video recording that
Hey there @Zyuooo. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎 It's hard to debug this without knowing exactly what the error is. You have to make sure on the project that you're pulling, after everything has been installed you have to do what you would do normally. Make sure there's a .env file where all the relevant fields are filled out such as the mysql db info and the app key. Those are just 2 things I can think of without knowing the actual error. The only issue I've run into with mysql is the issue I ran into in this video and I've shown the solution for it. Hope this helps and good luck to you.
@@DesignatedCoderWhat I did was install Docker desktop, WSL, in my Windows 11 PC. Then I installed the Laravel 11 project using "Docker Installation Using Sail" followed by the the documentation. then it worked using sail up and after development then ran some commands to publish Docker, build image, pushed to registry, then tested the image by pulling and running, then I got an issue with my MySQL container. the app conatiner and phpmyadmin conatiner working. The app had the session error mysql connection. I troubleshooted the issue by pinging mysql and reviewing the `cat.env` file inside the container, and also I can't pass the'mysql -h mysql -u username -p` I tried with the exact credentials in the.env. I also tried to login to phpmyadmin with the credentials. so that I couldn't perform migration files, etc. By the way, I appreciate your effort on my comment reply in your 1-year-old video. It would really help me if you did a video on this channel.
@@DesignatedCoder the error i got , when try to migrate "Illuminate\Database\QueryException SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo for mysql failed: Name or service not known (Connection: mysql, SQL: select table_name as name, (data_length + index_length) as size, table_comment as comment, engine as engine, table_collation as collation from information_schema.tables where table_schema = 'laravel' and table_type in ('BASE TABLE', 'SYSTEM VERSIONED') order by table_name)" in the browser localhost "SQLSTATE[HY000] [1130] Host '172.17.0.3' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server (Connection: mysql, SQL: select * from sessions where id = b8WLqiS03kuWRtlNZcY1gCzn2p2o7prlcKxr2ITI limit 1) "
Hey there, @Zyuooo! I probably won't make a video on one edge case to debug your project but I can try to give you some advice. 1. before hooking up to any database you should first make sure that from your project directly you can run migrations. Within your project you should have run sail up or however you access the docker from the project to run these migrations. This will ensure that your project setup for the db works as it's supposed to and the benefit of trying that first means you don't have to be locked into a specific gui table. You shouldn't need to run mysql terminal commands directly for this only the php and sail commands. Also it gives you a chance to debug that first. Once that's working you can move on to the next step. 2. I can't tell if your phpmyadmin is in a docker container or not. If it is, then I can't help you as I haven't tried connecting across containers in that way and have no info on that. I'm sure there's loads online but I haven't found a use case where I'd be doing that. If it's not in a container and it's on your hardware then you maybe running into conflicts with your project which is in docker and your phpmyadmin which I'm assuming is also attached to xampp. This is something you're going to have to do your own research on as I don't use phpmyadmin for my docker projects. If this is the case, the php version in your xampp may not be the same as the php in your docker compose and by extension your project container. It's hard to debug this since I don't work on your project but these errors are indicating that your project isn't correctly set up to interact with the database.

when I open blade file, its not highlight, just black and white how to deal with blade file syntax highlighting ? thanks for this great tutorial
Hey there @3Shoka. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎 My setup isn't really complete and I don't have anything for blade syntax highlighting yet as I don't use it as often. You can do a quick search to see if there are any plugins available for this. Laravel is somewhat of a recent addition to this vim/neovim world and there aren't many available as of yet. I've been looking at this one as it seems to also have line folding which is pretty useful for large blade files. Take a look and see if it fits your needs. github.com/EmranMR/tree-sitter-blade Hope this helps and good luck to you.

Hey there, @iaskakho5646! Glad you're finding some value in it. I couldn't tell you what the versions of the plugins are as I've updated the repo clones throughout this series. Not all of them update at the same time and also some of them don't really need to update as well as they do what they do and move on. I'm not sure I ever paid attention to the VS Code extension versions either, only to see what they do and if in their current state, they're compatible with the programming language versions. As far as Lsp attach I went over some of it in today's video but feel free to check out the dotfiles to see the completeness of my setup. Hope this helps and good luck to you.

I thought that you had made the move to Docker and Laravel Sail since you made a video about it, using it........Not to your liking? Speaking of Linux......You're using WSL which means you haven't fully ditched Windows and it's telemetry junk which is getting worse by the day......Say you did fully move, which Linux Distro would be your daily driver?
Hey there @user-kx8kp5sh5w. Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel! 😎 All great questions and thanks for asking. Although I do like the combination of Sail with Docker, it's just not necessary or practical for my day to day use case. If I were working for someone or on a team then that would be different but at this time it's not really a necessary solution for me. I will use it in the event that I'm working on a different version of Laravel to test things out or something changes but as of now it's not a must have for me personally. Frankly, Neovim is just changing my personal use of VS Code. For now I'll continue to use Windows and VS Code for my videos as it's something more people are familiar with visually, but Neovim will continue to be where I code my own projects for the foreseeable future. When I switch fully, I won't be installing VS Code. Laravel and Sail is still a great option and I will continue to recommend it. Once I make the full switch I will continue to use Laravel and Sail for my project videos as people still download the repos and I want them to have the best chance at compatibility as the projects age. As for still using Windows, there are several reasons for this. A complete switch isn't something you can just do if you also use your system for things other than programming. Decisions have to be made and although many things have changed with Linux the past few years, there are still some programs that don't work well with it just yet. Luckily I'm used to using open source software and so most everything I use daily works just fine. It's really just the video production side of things that can be a bit quirky to navigate through. 30+ years as a Windows user with some limited Linux tinkering, it's not going to be a sudden change. I've been testing out several distros to see what I like and don't like while also tweaking them mainly to get more familiar with it. I've got one laptop dual booting with Linux Mint as I just need it work. I've several old laptops that are getting overhauled with I'm not sure what yet as well. For my main PC (the one I use to record and edit), I'm seriously considering Arch. I've been testing it for a few weeks and no major hiccups just yet. I just need to test it with my video production stuff and see how it goes. I'll be dual booting on a separate drive on that one as well for now because at the end of the day, I need to make sure I can get work done and having a safety net is better than none, at least for me. Having the free time available to set all of this up is also a huge factor. At the end of the day, I felt that these Laravel/Neovim videos are needed. When I started trying to set it up, there were limited resources on how to do it with my tech stack and I wanted to create something that folks could refer to if they're curious or interested. What I learn, I share on this channel. Hope this helps to clarify things and thanks again for the great questions.
