very valuable video. im in a unique situation where i recently moved to a different state and i don't have nearly as many clients and reaching out to others through dm's is difficult because i don't follow anyone who lives here which is flagstaff, AZ. it is a university city so i was thinking of going out to the school and finding the big boards and post a flyer with my info and IG or creating business cards and psychically handing them to students. As well as i would be cutting them in my house or creating the option of doing it in theirs as my end goal in mind is to be a mobile barber and give the best services.

Thank you for this knowledge. Question, would you suggest we follow the people we reach out too or just dm them first and follow them after if the become a client?

My wife and I have been using $2 bills for change for a while and it’s been working for us, we’ve had customers come back regularly because of the experience of getting a few $2 bills in their change, others have heard we give out $2 bills from other customers. I remember getting a few in change over the years, but they’re kind of rare to the point that I remember every place that I’ve gotten one and I figured, makes the transaction kind of memorable, it came to my mind that if I was surprised when I got one I thought others would be just as surprised and remember the place they got faded and received $2 bills in change. I’ve always been obsessed with the bills since I was a kid, they have an old world “classy” attraction to them. Nicely faded comb-over with a crisp line parting and transacting in $2 bills, rings Boardwalk Empire so much. So much so that some customers pay the haircut, tip you, and then pull out a 20 and ask if you would please trade the 20 into ten $2 bills which we do, we have our bank next door, walking distance, and they stock 2’s so we just get stacks of them.
