It's funny how Sainsburys is used as a kind of alibi to make things sound more mundane and innocent. This also occurred when Gary Lineker and his manager said they bought four bottles of champagne from Sainsburys, to celebrate him signing to Everton, in late May 1985. It wasn't Sainsburys, it was in the Pinstripe Club, London. I know cause I drunk most of it, well two of us and the aspidistra, when it wasn't being swapped with ginger ale. Cherry Cola doesn't look the same in the glass.
