Cambox version of Race1 Oppenrod 2024.
Qualifying p14 (± 40 drivers) I didn’t bring a package to fully attack the weekend and also had some physical challenges. During the race I collided with my German friend Valentijn, for me it was an acceptable maneuver and fortunately no insult between the two of us. But crashing out like a lawnmower on the last lap is really embarrassing…

Testing the Cambox v4 Pro helmet camera. The image quality is good, battery time is maybe max. 40 minutes so with karting heats maximum 3 movies. Recharging takes time and you have to be sure your visor is really clean. I also miss the GPS data to add, this should be available with the next Cambox model they are working on...

After changing the engine the weekend went much smoother. The Swiss Hutless Strato chassis is stable but the tires seem to have not so much grip. It could also be me having difficulties to make smooth corners.

Also my second run didn't go as planned. I'm not sure if I'm having a light seizure just exiting the corner after the straight but again full throttle was causing trouble as I manage to enter the pits. The engine seems to run very fast so it was dissapointing to quit early.

Jesolo 2024 didn't start the way I wanted and probably bad preparation and maintenance caused me to have carburator problems. Because I think the carburator is failing just after a few laps and things start to warm up. The Swiss Hutless Strato chassis is very well prepared by my friend JLA Racing but the engine and carburator is my doing...

Last heat of the weekend for me. Cerrina Race Track is an old track with a rough surface and it eats tires. The layout of the track is really nice and the atmosphere of the location is top notch.

I have old karts but not this old. It's good to hear an engine with no airbox and see 'naked' wheels. (They're a bunch of Sheila's today.) Great fun having a go on a damp track with old tyres and being a bit sideways everywhere.

I would say 90% or more are strictly karting engines
Is Jesolo still the grippiest track ever? Back in 1998 I used to race the Italian Open Championship, and this track was insanely grippy. Some guys would even flip on the rubber by going too deep.
Yes still very grippi normaly, but before the weekend alot of rain fell and we had to rubber-in the track again

its been a few years but engine seems to have poor bottom end ! even at 50 its not alive, lots of war,war and not so much excelleration ! i would say its over tuned for top end which you are hardly using, perhaps change the gearing a couple of cogs, dont know what to say about the grip! old tyres gone hard ?
Yes I think carburator setting bottom end could be better and top end is ok. Unused but not new tires not doing as expected. Think gearing is fine. Thanks for your comment 👌🏻

Kart is from around 1980, it doesn’t get any wider. Also driving end October in the Netherlands is cold so no grip at all

I had a KZH and a Hetchell kart in 1985-86. World Cup in Laval, Grand Prix at Menton, Nice and Paris, Ace Cup at Valence and France Championship. It was a wonderful engine❤❤❤
