Vintage is only of the watch is yours, otherwise its just second hand. People stop pretending it sounds better, it is second hand if you buy an old watch that was for example from your neighbour.

I don't agree with that. I'm 196 cm tall and my wrist is 18.5 cm. The Datejust in 36 doesn't fit anymore, so I have the 39.5 cm version (41cm)

I love them, but you need to wear 1960s sports pieces with more caution. The risk of theft, scratching it on a desk, or banging them in a doorway, or having your car door closing and hitting your left wrist, one better restrict how much you wear it. And no pool or beach. Better have one - or several modern "support" watches built like a tank in addition to the magic vintage pieces.

Vintage is fine, but there’s no better feeling than being the first owner of a Rolex. If you can, buy it new. You’ll have an emotional attachment to it that’s unexplainable.

I've got the Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Moo Chronograph. Fantastic piece - love it. Pity the strap that came with it (because I bought it in Japan) is too small for my wrist. But I can really see the quality in that textile strap. Excellent video!

You're videos on them persuaded me to take the plunge and trade in my more modern 41 OP and pick up a 1603 DJ and I couldn't be happier, the 36 suits me so much more on my 7 inch wrists and the vintage elements just give me so much more pride wearing it. Would love to see more, your channel should be far larger with the quality you output.

Good video. The only issue I have with my datejust on a leather strap is the finishing of the metal where the bracelet used to be. It’s really rough and not polished. I guess because it was never intended to be taken of the bracelet.

No way are they undervalued. They are overlooked because it’s not what younger people want right now. Everyone still wants the hype watches, the sports AP and Patek. Still amazing timepieces for people who are ready to buy wear and enjoy, but these are classic watches. Which younger people under 45 might not be ready in their collecting journey. These are not for everyday use that’s for sure. Unless you live a laidback non physically active lifestyle. Very easy to damage. You can’t wear these like you do a Nautilus or Aquanaut.

The 3940 is a true grail piece, only real horologists know the history and how great that watch truly is with it's complications, open case back and the but please limit giving it the attention it deserves. I don't need my grail watch being super attainable already as it is if I'm to get it one day 😂
