Simple! as a couple in 2024 with full home ownership you are allowed $1045,500 in other assets before you get zero Gov Pension, Its that simple its on MyGov site? keep below the One Million 45 Thousand 5 Hundred and you will get a pension card and small pension go above that figure and get Zilch until you drop below $1,045,500. Hi, pretty good and correct. Can i offer some different wording - that i use to remember how it works Basically you only need to learn 1 journal, the rest you follow the syntax / income or swap for expense, then substitute one asset for another or swap expenses So what is the one journal DR Bank CR Sales This is a cash sale, money in the bank, and record a sale. If it was done as on credit, then it is DR Accounts Receivable, Credit Sales - it is still a sale but no money in the bank, as both Accounts receivables and bank are assets they are similar When the client pays you just move it from one asset to another, so it is Debit Bank, Credit Accounts Receivable Expenses are similar but the opposite DR Expense eg Wages CR Bank If it was on credit terms then Dr Wages , Credit Accounts payable When you make the payment, DR Accounts Payables and Credit Bank From here you can simple just swap expenses, swap wages with freight, or electricity or rent paid The trap is stock, as it is a asset, when you buy stock, you are really swapping one asset for another, as you are paying cash it is similar to a expense so the journal is DR Stock CR Bank ( or accounts payable if on terms ) Now when you sell your stock , it is a strange one DR COST OF GOOD SOLD CR STOCK This decreases your stock and makes is now a expense DR BANK ( or accounts payable ) CR SALES ( it is a sale so this is the same ) Lets say we purchases 1 x television $500, so initially we do the purchase and pay supplier via bank, we are still swapping assets, so there is no profit as yet When the sale is made, we move the value of the stock to expenses, as we now have left stock, and we are "realising now" the value of the cost of the stock We make the sale, say $750, sales for the year goes up and so does money in the bank ( or to accounts receivable until it is actually paid ) The system itself, calculated the gap between expense and sale and that is profit, so there is a hidden transaction, but not really, because when you run the profit and loss, it totals all the COGS ( stock purchases actually sold ) and deducts that from all the sale to get Gross Profit To get net profit, you then calculate all the other expenses and take that away from Gross Profit Regards George

Hi, Nice video Conditional formatting is powerful and underused I typically use a separate tab as my setup or settings / constants So for the heat may i may use a list say 0,`10, 20,25,30,35 ( celcius ), then use the conditioning wizard and set lower than 0 as yellow, then >0 but less 10 as dark blue, between 10 and 20 light blue etc and over 35 as red But as you mentioned , if you require variations for a set area you need to run it the way you did, that way a area with say constant figures does not have as much variation year to year or month to month I run similar method for several excel sheets at work Accounts receivable is dumped to excel, then anything over 5k is light blue, anything over 10k is dark blue , over 20k is yellow - they get called first Staff leave entitlements, any leave under 40 hours is highlighted , and anything under 16 hours is also highlighted, then that is copied to another tab, and sorted by colour ( sort /custom / select column / then sort by cell fill or color i dont recall ) - so all staff who have almost used up their sick or annual leave end up on a short list and is emailed to all supervisors ( funny how everyone can read hours paid, but never can find the balance of leave left on the next few lines ) Using Vlookup we can match up with age / salary / location, then use conditional formatting to group together by something common, eg age / salary range / location / job title, while you can do it with custom sort, combining it with colors tend to make it slightly easier Another feature is find duplicates , especially if yo have list A and list b and want to find common or combine / add new items ( we have close to 9000 stock items, so storing master file is say colum A to Z , and the new import File AD to BB and having conditional formating compare values in Cell G to the highlighting duplicates in whatever AG means i can just sort AD to BB by cell colour ( the duplicated ) and delete them quickly We also do HR work, expired insurances / driver licence, other licences , review dates, we compare the current date ( =now() ) to the colum with say expiry date + say 30 days anything highlighted is something that needs to be followed up soon Regards George
