Atomic Blonde - Mandurah to Fremantle race
Nice speeds and nice top down furling setup.
such an AWESOME boat
Smooth
That's how you do it.
looks great fun, damn that is a small boat
Awesome boat
I like the guy who puts full high end carbon sails on a old beaten up (altough in very good overall state) boats.
Who needs a vang when you go lightspeed?
Looking slick Campbell!
Beautiful symmetry, perfectly trimmed yachts. Nice.
The cady smokin. Thats what is great
Magic swan river sailing by the legendary Campbell Stewart 👍
Sailing on the Swan River, out of the Nedlands Yacht Club, over many years, despite been a river, the water conditions are changeable.Back then, racing would only be called off when the winds we’re constantly over 25kts ,with the Fremantle Doctor (the local Seabreeze) 15/20kts was about average ,good times 😀😀😀😀 Robbie Binedell.
This is on Melville water on the Swan River Perth ,Western Australia ( on a easterly breeze ) winds can be a bit 😬😬😬 when you think you are killing them WRONG 😂😂😂😂
Nice, keeping her on the boil...
Both are fantastic boats. I'd take either one.
You and me both!
Challenging conditions and some great rescues made.
Bruce is numer one of all! His boats seem to fly over water. Perfectly conducted. Simply, a piece of art in motion!
Pretty sure MoneyPenny shouldn't be allowed to sail upwind with the bowsprit in the OUT position. At least that is the rule in Europe. The bowsprit can only be hauled out AFTER the windward buoy has been rounded. Otherwise - and in closer situations - there can be nasty accidents. Just saying...
where is the difference to a fixed sprit then?
@@SaKuLification A fixed bowsprit is what it says FIXED and is an integral part of the vessel. Don't even know why I'm getting involved here. Look up the international regulations and double check with your club.
@@user-oe1mb9hu9i I was just reffering to your "nasty accidents"...
Can the hull still be bought ?
I've asked on my Facebook Group - Ironbark Photos
Can the hull still be bought ?
Message from David Lugg "No moulds left. Drawings are available. Message me on Facebook"
Real sailing love it

Windsurfer LT Worlds held in Perth at the South of Perth Yacht Cub.
if the numbers remain good ie height and speed - hang onto that full main. other wise a little tuck would help yacht control
These are tippy boats. They have really bendy mast and love constant back stay attention. I play the back stay nearly as much as the main sheet. Having sailed this boat in a breeze you can hang on with full main and a #3 quite a while. After that a #4 is still better than a reef. It lets you power up in the lulls and dump in the puffs. obviously at a certain point reefing is the choice but there are a lot of tools on this boat at your disposal before getting to that point.
@@nicholaspaterson1543 - from the outside - what ever is going on seems to be working(with the exception of the main) certainly a "good sail"
Man has never created anything as exquisitely beautiful and sensuous as a boat, especially the old Meter boats. I had a 5-1/2 Meter boat built in 1919. Pure eye candy. The mainsail guy(s) needs to mind the main sheet more. Sailing on the rail is fun and exciting, but kills boat speed.
It's a very pretty boat. My dad used to tell stories of Eun Na Mara and Panamuna duelling each year on the Bunbury race...probably in the 1950's or 60's.
Can solar impaction to black sails make larger wind heat to speed it further from leech side for bigger powerspeed? This for is name Helios?
No, it’s just because the sail is carbon that it’s black
Lol
reef early and reef often
if those high stationed mass with oversized sails are they still ballasted? as though the crew forcing to ballasting themselves
It still has to be self-righting in the event of a knock-down so it must have ballast.
This is symmetrical spinnaker
I love your vids. Any chance you can get a wind buffer for the mic.
Earplugs😉

The swiftest vessel on its latitude observation the cat vessel was that 30 knots or 25 knots matched?
25Knots I'm sure
Crush is speedy
Such a nice upwind sailing cutting the water like a hot knife butter
Fortuosity is a beaut yacht ..........
10 ppl on the Elan vs 6 on the Melges. Now show Melges 32 vs Elan 410 downwind ;)
The Melges is speedy downwind :)
When was this footage taken Lindsey?
Not sure Grant ............. I have queue of videos that load automatically

Closely matched doublehanded against fully crewed. Nice looking boat.
Bad viewing angle but looks like the F18 started from a safe lee position giving the Tornado bad air. Still pulling slowly out afterwards.
if speed make proportional to the liting upwards then how to stop flight take off path to sky?
There’s a wand at the bow which changes a flap on the moth main foil to change the lift, and on a nacra as the foil lifts out of the water the lift decreases, which brings it back down
Many thanks Lindsay for your excellent video of my Ness Yawl sailing in the Swan River Retro Races, and to Kim for your response. One further correction please: the boats name is Wee Birlinn, not Berlinn. Birlinn is the old Scots Gaelic name for a longboat or war galley, the style of boat on which the Ness Yawl is based.
Thank you for the correction ...........
Wouldn’t be good to be 30 years younger to sail one of those machines. They are great boat the moths.Luca told me one of his moths was about $78k😊
The moths, most of the fleet are Mach 2 or equivalent. You can buy an equal boat for about $10k. Get involved.
@@GrantRollerson The mack 2 are great Andrew MacDougal nearly sold me one when I was 60. Nearly brought it but I didn’t think I had the fitness to get it around the course
For me learning to sail? Dis one of the hardest lessons to learn. ❤❤❤🙏🙏⛵️⛵️🪬🪬💎💎👍👍🥃🥃🇬🇧🇬🇧
Wind make water direction travel forward of it, sail use same power for progression motion
I'm just going to say how much I miss it.
crest denies apprehension, but can have division to portward and starboardward quarters by bow penetration in all cases, also some vertical deviation is noted in both ranges.
Sailing upwind? crest were apprehended
