I feel like you are vastly underestimating just how much wide lens actually impacts the odds of population bomb hitting. Without wide lens, getting just 4 hits is less likely than landing a focus blast, landing 5 hits is slightly less likely than hitting hypnosis, and getting all ten hits has slightly better odds than landing an ohko move, at around 35%. And this is not a move you only have to use once per game, maushold needs to hit this several times throughout a game and with the maximum number of hits possible if it wants to have any impact on a game besides clearing hazards. On the other hand, while yes, population bomb *can* technically miss even while you're holding wide lens and it feels horrible when it happens, landing all ten hits of population bomb is actually marginally MORE likely with wide less than landing a single hit of population bomb if you aren't holding it (the difference is very small. 90.4% compared to 90%, but it is there). Soooo yea, the best way to deal with pesky contact abilities/items is unfortunately not as simple as just swapping your item for pads, you need to build your team around maushold so you can eliminate the pokemon with contact abilities and knock off any rocky helmets before maushold is ready to go. Or I guess you could technically use pads if you find another way to boost your accuracy, like gravity or having a partner Victini (in specifically natdex doubles I guess lol), although those are kinda really gimmicky

Also the difference between Wide Lens and running no Wide lens is 90.4% vs 34.9% chance to hit when it comes to pop bomb. Not sure protective pads are worth taking over wide lens if pop bomb is what you're going for

Without wide lends you have .9 to the power of 10 to not hit all your hit with is 0.3486784401. Also, the more you require luck in your strategy, the more likely you will get unlucky.

Slight correction, air balloon is not useless outside of opposing excadrill match up. It is also useful to beat ground pokemon temporarily such as sandy shcok, weaken donphan, rhyperior, tyranitar, switch into mamo, avoid hazards beside rocks which because you 4x resists allows you to have longer longevity sometimes over leftovers, stopping hydrapple from ruining your day with earth power, and because of air balloon avoiding hazards, you don't get poison if you tera or get affected by sticky web.

Agreed. Superpower in general is just better against steel type, especially against levitate power that tera steel such as rotom wash and latios, which are relatively common. While okidogi hard counters it without stomping tantrum, it can switch out to a teammate who beats it.

Unironically from expirence I feel like cornerstone is actually a stronger threat in OU then UU. Mainly because it gets to pray on meta trends and players overcompensating for the Wellspring match-up. I love loading against stall for example with cornerstone, and watching as stall scrambles to deal with it since their dondozo+pex cores can't handle the rock stab. It just so happens that UU lucked out, and most of the current meta is hostile to cornerstone. Having some of the best mons in their tier also be steel types with super effective priority, as well as torn and lowkix threatening revenge kills, it all comes together to limit cornerstone immensely. TL;DR, I think its one of the least of the tiers concerns atm

Here’s some ideal buffs of mine: Sandslash - Tough Claws Wigglytuff - Boomburst, Moonblast, Moonlight, and most importantly replacing Frisk with Fur Coat Electivire and Magmortar - either give them both Sheer Force or give them Iron Fist (ideally buffed too) and Mega Launcher respectively and a number of new moves. Power Whip and CC for the former, Earth Power, the Mega Launcher moves and Armor Cannon for the latter. Aerodactyl - just give it Head Smash already Meganium - Replace Leaf Guard with either Triage or Flower Veil. And some new moves like Earth Power, Alluring Voice, Calm Mind, and bring back Aromatherapy Typhlosion - Earth Power and Grass Knot Ampharos - Electric Surge, Parabolic Charge, Tail Glow, and Energy Ball Sceptile - Nasty Plot, Earth Power, maybe even Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball Whiscash - replace Anticipation with Simple Dusknoir - +10 HP, Rapid Spin, Knock Off, Thunder Wave, Strength Sap Mushama - Psychic Surge Zebstrika - replace Lightning Rod with Reckless, and also give it Flare Blitz already Leavanny - replace Overcoat with Sharpness Krookodile - Dragon Dance and Headlong Rush Delphox - Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, replace Magician with Magic Guard Goodra - Recover, Toxic Spikes

Flygon should learn Quiver Dance as Vibrava at high levels (similar to Clamperl's Shell Smash)

I have a suicune team with a specs analytic mag and it really is good in OU. It’s such a good late game sweeper being so bulky. Leftovers and g-terrain support makes it very hard to kill.

The two always getting their forms much later and it feels like it’s rushed. Mega/Gigantomax Blastoise = number of cannons and Mega/Gigantomax Venusaur = size of flower. Pokemon #1k should’ve been a Paradox form of Venustoise instead of Gholdengo

To be fair this gen is the gen that that the tiers have been the fakest they've ever been. Not to say tier placements are irrelevant but strict limit to how many moms can be consider in a tier at a time, pokemon will fall in and out of the tiers constantly based mostly off of player trends rather than objective power. Moltres rising and dropping repeatedly is a perfect example of this. Nothing about moltres stats or movepool is getting buffed or nerfed, just the playerbases perception of its use cases shifting.
