Extremadura (a province in Spain). Mercredi (the French Word meaning "Wednesday")..---- Extremadura (ett landskap i Spanien). Mercredi ("onsdag" på franska).
The good thing about this movie is you don't need know exactly what they are saying, 'cause you understand the body language and also the language is simple language that you should know, the only thing that needs to be dubbed is the narrator. Luckly i'm Swedish. ;3
StopFear if you're going to state your opinion perhaps refrain from making it completely narrow-minded and idiotic? Ohh there's a woman AND a man singing in the background what a great opportunity to spout bigoted nonsense, I'm a genius.
Vivian as well as Elizabeth looked gorgeous as Cleopatra. Just can't ignore the fact that on appearance alone, there were much better choices at the time. Cleopatra... The EGYPTIAN queen. Raquel Welsh would have been better casting on the 1963 version. Just saying.
@parhaatkemut it is here in sweden. I think you can order it from discshop no matter where in the world you live. just be aware, we have region 2 so you may need a region-free dvdplayer. good luck!
@td2gether4ever Am I the only person who thinks Vivien Leigh was brilliant as Cleopatra? Cleopatra was not only breathtakingly beautiful she was also a vixen, she was supposed to be coquettish and feeline. Look at her eyes! Kill, Kill, Kill!!! The delivery of the dilogue!
I love Vivien Leigh, but this is one movie of hers I just can't seem to warm up to. Probably because I was spoiled by Liz Taylor first as Cleopatra before I saw this one... but the scripts differ immensely, and even the character of Cleopatra differs. Vivien's portrayal is so much more... bipolar? I hate to use this word- but you never really knew what to expect from her with the role. Where Elizabeth gave us a pretty solid picture. Bless her soul, but this is one role I prefer someone else in
It's said that the queen of egypt was absolutely stunning, beyond gorgeous.so noone better for this role than Vivien..she's the prettiest cleopatra of all times.

@spookygirl85 Vivien Leigh was under contract at Selznick International Pictures. So the producers "arranged" (i.e. paid Selznick's studio) to have Leigh play Cleopatra for their film.
I saw this at the cinema in another millenium...

There is a new movie coming out this year with these characters!! Same actors, same director. Following the 80s sequel. Wild, huh!
Cleopatra was Cleopatra, not ELIZABETH Taylor, moron.

Usually the langugae is just a mishmash of words and mixed-up phrases, it's fantastic!
Chemistry of music that is only possible between a man and a woman. Not between two men or two women.
