Fungus in lawns, especially new lawns, can cause major issues if not treated properly. Humidity and heat cause the fungus to spread quickly and can take out entire sections of lawn. In the video we are treating a newly seeded park with fungicide to ensure it remains healthy.

Great info. Thanks
Once mature, can you prune these trees in September?
Hi Anthony, It depends on your location. In cooler climates it would still be better not to prune in the fall. In warmer climates it isn't as important for the trees to harden off before winter.
I have 2 2-3 ft little gems I plan on planting on the side of my house. They will be far enough away from the house to not be a problem. I’m taking a problematic yoshino cherry tree that’s dying after less than 6 months. I haven’t ever had a tree or shrub die after planting . I will stay away from fruit trees in general and stay with blue point junipers and little gem magnolias. If there is any advice you can give me, I’m all ears and willing to take good advice. I hope you have a great day. Thanks.
this should be used more often in industy. much safer
Great video! What age do females produce fruit.
I have an infant tree (about 8 feet tall) that I just planted. It looks healthy but bark around the root of the trunk is peeling off (inside is strong looking trunk) - is this supposed to happen?
Is it a Chinese Pistache tree?
@@groverlandscapeservices3180 Yes, it is.
Looking good, as usual! Is that the Vernallis site? I was an operator for a couple of years for Grover right after the site was purchased. Tell Adam and Mark, Rick Kaitz said hello.
I will tell them hi for you :)
Does anyone know about the white larvae worm things inside the Tree?
My elementary school, where I taught for over 20 years, had Chinese Pistache trees on campus. This was up the hill in Placerville, CA. They were my absolute favorites, especially in the fall! I am not sure they would survive the brutal summers in Phoenix, AZ, though.
Yes they will survive, there's a place in Tucson Arizona where they grow this trees, they are heat tolerant, one of my neighbors here in Phoenix Az has a red push pistache 😍❤ and I just bought one to plant in front of my house 😁
I have one at my backyard it is pretty big and it has all it sticks
Are the berries edible and safe to humans? Thank you
The berries are not toxic, but they are not edible for humans.
Wow !!!! Great video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Where's the park mowing video?
Haven't got around to it yet. Thanks for the reminder :D

I need help with pruning for this tree. I have one that has been in the ground about 3 years. The main trunk has 3 leaders from it. Each leader has a handful of branches clustered at the end that are about 10 inches long each. The trunk continues to grow but the lateral branches do not. Do you have any instructions that I can follow?
That's interesting. Why don't you email info@groverlsi.com with some pictures and I will have an arborist take a look.
Great machine and altec rules
Was invited and went and ran that altec at a private demonstration in NY
Gotta say, looks really tempting! Great video, thanks for sharing!
It definitely makes it safer and easier, but it destroys the thrill of climbing. :)
Hey is it true the city of Modesto is switching to these instead of the Modesto/Arizona Ash?
I am not for sure about that, but I would be all for it! The Pistach trees do not lift up the sidewalks like the Ash trees do.

how do you treat leaf scorch? my CP tree is got this disease.
The tree will need to be injected with an antibiotic. If you live in the Mid Central Valley of California we would be happy to provide this service to you, if not, call your local professional tree service and they should be able to help you out. Good Luck!! -AG
I just had a funeral for my sunset maple I put out front 3 years ago. I either sprayed something or didn't water it enough. I live in Dallas Texas and maples don't really do to good down here it seems from others I've talked to. We have plenty beautiful Chinese p's around and I want one. My question is, should I buy a 15 gal? Or one of the big ones? I don't want to wait 20 years for some shade.
Beebop, Sorry to hear about your Sunset Maple, but you are right, a Chinese Pistache would be a great replacement! While a bigger box tree will create shade a little faster, (~1-2 years faster than a 15 gallon tree) there are a couple questions to consider: how much money are you willing to spend in purchasing the tree, and would you like to plant the tree yourself? If you purchase a 24 inch box tree it will be more expensive and may be too difficult to plant yourself. With canopy growth rates around 2 feet per year, the Chinese Pistache should produce a suitable amount of shade within 10 years. Good luck on your tree :) -AG
Grover Landscape Services I'm willing to spend up to $1,500 for a big tree to be planted by a company. I have a great company down the road that has both to offer. It will have to be this fall before I can get it though.
Knowing your budget and that you are going to have a professional plant your tree, we would recommend looking into a 36" box tree or bigger. Your local nursery may not use boxes but instead use gallons, if they do you could request a 95 gallon tree.
you said leave scorch from the sun. i transplanted mine eastside of my house no its protected has some shade . really hot summer in tennesse. 1 iinch caliper is it 1 yr old? does this tree grow fast
Maria, The leaf scorch that was referenced in the video is the result of a bacterial disease and not from the sun. The Chinese Pistache tree enjoys full sun and grows at a medium rate of 13"-24" per year. It is difficult to say how old your tree is due to the variable growth conditions, but it is most likely around one year old. Hopefully your transplant does well!
